I am currently 15 1/2 weeks pregnant. I have known I've had mitral
valve prolapse for almost 19 years and am currently 36 years old.
I've always had the sensation on and off of my heart "flipflopping"
in my chest and at times a resting heart rate of 112 to 120...don't
remember any problems during my psat prenancies but this one I have
noticed it a lot. there are days where whenever I'm up it is doing
this every couple minutes....up till now I didn't let it bother
me...I knew I had mvp adn they told me back originally that it was
nothing to worry about...so I didn't...I knew the pain and other
symptoms were mvp and not a heart attack or anything like that so I
wasn't scared...well I've done some reading on the internet...enough
to scare the crap out of me...now I'm scared to death that I'm going
to die during delivery or something. I keep telling myself that it
is partly due to pregnancy and partly due to the humidity as I also
have asthma..but have been afraid to use my inhaler for fear of
making it worse or not being safe for baby. I go to the Dr. tomorrow
and will talk to him...but thought maybe someone here might have some
words of comfort....I haven't been followed since my original testing
and am scared after all that I have read that something horrible
could be wrong..but then it didn't get this extreme till I got
pregnant. Please help if you can to alleve my fears. Thank you.
