myself. I have suffered with MVPS for
years...ever since I was little. (I fainted after getting
shots and I noticed palpitations for the first time
when I was in 8th grade) Went to the doctor, he had me
jump up and down for about a minute, lol, then he
listened to my heart but he never heard anything. I also
suffered with not wanting to out out in public alone (I
thought I had social phobia, but I'm really not that
shy). Then I almost passed out at work (had
tachycardia)in 1993 and went to the cardiologist and he heard
the "click". Had an echo and it confirmed the MVP.
But still this didn't explain my anxiety, some mild
panic attacks, not being able to handle caffeine very
well, decongestants, my never wanting to go anywhere
like the grocery store, mall, etc., stomach pains,
etc. I've had ALL the symptoms at one time or another
and then while researching the mitral valve prolapse
online I discovered the web site:
mitralvalveprolapse.com plus some others and I cried when I heard the
stories and the explanation of the syndrome that can go
along with it! The dysautonomia! I cried from
happiness! That I wasn't nuts and that at nights when I
suddenly woke up with my heart pounding and a sudden panic
attack... that I really wasn't going to die! And, I found
out its hereditary and I have notified my mother, and
my 2 sisters that have also had almost all of these
symptoms at one time or another. And now, I am just trying
to find a good place to chat with others that feel
the same as I do. I'd love to chat with any of you at
anytime. Hopefully, I'll come back to the club and someone
will be online. :o)
