Hello everyone,
As many of you know, Sunshine Cottage publishes the CASSLS which is an
incredibly useful tool for assessment, intervention and monitoring of deaf
and hard of hearing children who use spoken language. It is useful to
formulate goals and translate progress and future emphasis to parents.
Several of us in the area use this tool already - The Hearing and Speech
Agency, John Hopkins Listening Center, and Montgomery County Schools. Again
this tool has many facets that I know I am not even using and I would like
to learn more! The CASSLS offers intervention tools that can be used for
children birth through school age. Truth be told, this program can be used
for those who do not have hearing loss as well.
That being said, I am trying to get some input on interest on a 1 1/2 day
training here in Baltimore at the Hearing and Speech Agency. We have not
committed to offering this continuing education opportunity as of yet since
we want to get an idea as to if there is an interest in the program in the
area. So please check with your colleagues and let me know. Share this
email----spread the word please!!! I would be interested in a Fall
workshop....so check your calendars as well and let me know some times. I
would like to make this work for all of us in the field who work with this
population or those who are interested. Please don't hesitate to call or
email me with questions.
See the links below for more detailed information on the CASSLS
