Clinical Fellowship position (12 month position):
We are now accepting applicants for our 12-month, full-time, CFY position at the
Milton J. Dance, Jr. Head and Neck Center, the Greater Baltimore Medical Center,
Baltimore, Maryland. GBMC is a 325+ bed acute care hospital and the Milton J.
Dance, Jr. Head and Neck Center at GBMC has an active outpatient clinic for the
evaluation and treatment of laryngeal disorders and head and neck cancer.
This position will be available beginning in June 2009. The primary focus will
be in the areas of voice and swallowing disorders in an acute medical and
outpatient clinic setting. Evaluation and treatment of laryngeal disorders in
the outpatient clinic will encompass laryngeal stroboscopy, laryngeal
electromyography and voice therapy, etc. The candidate will be a member of an
interdisciplinary team for the treatment of head and neck cancer patients with
attendance at weekly inpatient care rounds, weekly multidisciplinary tumor board
and patient care conferences. Numerous continuing education opportunities
through monthly head and neck and stroboscopy grand rounds and conferences are a
component of this fellowship.
We are seeking a motivated, energetic candidate with a strong interest in
medical speech pathology and most specifically, voice & swallowing disorders.
The ideal candidate must possess a desire to grow professionally in a
fast-paced, learning-oriented medical setting. The candidate must have had
experience in at least one acute medical setting during their graduate student
practicum.
