About the Program:
This one day program is designed to educate Head and Neck Surgeons,
Otolaryngologists, Radiation and Medical Oncologists, General Dentists, Oral
Maxillofacial Surgeons and Prosthodontists, Speech-Language Pathologists Nurses,
Social Workers and other healthcare professionals and cancer survivors on the
survivorship issues related to head and neck cancer treatments. Topics will
include symptom management, research developments, and care plans for the Head
and Neck Cancer patient.
Program Objectives:
By attending this program, participants will:
-Describe common chronic effects of head and neck cancer treatments.
-Identify research developments in head and neck cancer.
-Discuss swallowing and speech rehabilitation issues specific to head and neck
cancer patients.
-Discuss the role of PET/CT in the diagnosis and surveillance of head and neck
cancer.
-Describe the impact of head and neck cancer therapies on patients and their
loved ones.
