help in Western Maryland-aphasia patient   Message List

I need all of your input. I have a patient with severe expressive
aphasia. He has been d/c from rehab, his insurance approved 4 home
care visits and then he is on his own. The speech therapists here
feel he will need months of intense speech therapy to have any
chance at all. Other than appealing his insurance for further
benefits, does anyone know of any other programs available that
could help this gentleman. He is only in his 50's was a school
teacher and musician. I can't stand to see him fall through the
cracks.
Thanks,
Becky
