The purpose of this course is to provide healthcare practitioners with a
framework for understanding the relationship between cognitive abilities
and daily functioning. Specifically, the effects of "normal" aging and
neuropathology on cognitive abilities will be explored. The course
will incorporate recent research findings and empirical evidence with
real-life clinical application.
At the conclusion of this course, the learner will have the knowledge
required to:
Define and describe multiple aspects of cognition and discuss the
relationship between cognitive ability and daily functioning.
Identify methods for assessment of cognitive and
cognitive-communica tion function.
Describe the neurological and cognitive changes associated with
"normal" aging.
Describe the effect of various neuropathologies on cognition (e.g.:
dementia, traumatic brain injury, stroke). Implement evidence-based

Cancellation
policy applies.
ENROLLMENT
Enrollment is limited. Early registration is encouraged to guarantee a

accepted on a first-come, first serve basis. We recommend you contact

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Tuition fee minus 25% (twenty-five percent) administration fee is
refundable if written cancellation is postmarked at least fourteen (14)
days prior to the seminar date.
With less than fourteen (14) days notice, registrant forfeits all
claims to
refunds.
MedStar Health reserves the right to cancel at any time with a full
refund.
MedStar Health will not be responsible for expenses incurred due to
