About the Program
This is a two-day program designed to educate physicians and speech pathologists
on Advanced Topics in Tracheoesophageal Voice Restoration and Postlaryngectomy
Rehabilitation. Topics focus on difficult and challenging postlaryngectomy
issues most specifically related to tracheoesophageal voice restoration,
swallowing and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Program Objectives
By attending this program participants will:
1. Discuss management of esophageal problems and granulation tissue
postlaryngectomy
2. Understand potential adverse events and solutions in prosthetic speech
3. Discuss olfaction rehabilitation in laryngectomee practice
4. Learn the relationship between oral contaminants and tracheoesophageal (TE)
voice restoration
5. Identify swallowing problems and management techniques postlaryngectomy
6. Discuss the effects of radiation therapy on post laryngectomy recovery
7. Discuss the benefits of customized housing in the problem stoma
8. Understand the surgical management of tonicity issues and TE closure issues
