What is PPST?
PPST is a group specially
designed for parents & caregivers of children with speech & language
delays/disorders. The first group of its kind in

PPST is open to the community. You do not have to
have a child receiving therapy from SPEECH PATHways to attend. However, it is
necessary to RSVP to reserve a seat.
When does PPST

PPST will meet the 3rd Friday of each month from
7-9pm. (except for December, June, July & August)

Guest Speaker(s): Dr. Christine Accardo, Director of Children's Services
for the Mid Atlantic Human Services Corporation and Program Director for The
Shafer Center for Early Intervention
Topic: Behavioral Assessment and Intervention
Dr. Accardo will discuss behavioral assessment
and interventions for children with special needs. Dr. Accardo is a Board
Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

The
upcoming topics for 2007 include:
"Different Doesn't Have to Mean
Separate": A parent-led discussion on raising
children with disabilities and the education choices they face. Barb
Feldman, Casey Huether and other parents raising children with differences will
share their background and experiences in raising a child/children with
disabilities and the educational paths they have chosen for their
child/children. The panel of parents will open the floor for discussion and
questions.

“Brain Gym and other Sensory
Activities”: Julie Parsons, OTR of Kidnections
will demonstrate sensory activities to enhance learning. This will be an
interactive session.
