I just received this message from Kris Cox, MD Secretary of the Department
of Disabilities:

Dear Friend:

I would like to cordially invite you to attend our upcoming lecture series,
Extraordinary Stories * A Lecture Series Featuring People with Disabilities,
to be held in October in conjunction with National Disabilities Awareness
Month.

The Maryland Department of Disabilities will be hosting two events to give
people with a variety of disabilities the opportunity to share their stories
and describe how they achieved their personal and professional goals. Our
hope is to break down stereotypes regarding people with disabilities and
showcase the many contributions they make in various professions and
endeavors.

Our events will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on October 12, 2005 at the American
Red Cross Building in Baltimore and on October 19, 2005 at the Maryland
State House in Annapolis. Dr. Margaret Giannini, Director of the Office on
Disability for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will join
us at both events as our keynote speaker. In addition, we will hear from
numerous successful individuals with a variety of disabilities describing
how they achieved their goals despite obstacles that others may have
considered insurmountable. The attached flyer provides more details about
our speakers.

We would be honored to have you join us on either or both dates. We believe
this will be an informative and worthwhile event for all.

Sincerely,

Kris Cox, Secretary
Maryland Department of Disabilities
