I think when I contacted you in my earlier attempt that you passed along this
person's name to me also, and when I contacted me he told me that all his
chemicals were in storage but that he was going to the storage sometime in the
future and he would contact me when and if he did come across any in his
storage.

I never heard back from him.

[No, this is not that person. You have mixed this up with the source of another
item, folic acid, the seller then going out of business. See message
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/morelife/message/1554

The link Paul provided is for an entirely different place and it currently shows
potassium citrate for sale at $20 for 500 grams.
However, before a person can create an account for purchasing s/he must agree to
a Disclaimer and Indemnity Agreement that includes:

"2) Bulk hard gelatin capsules, bulk soft gelatin capsules, food and
nutraceutical ingredients, and scales purchased from SHF, are to be used only in
accordance with all applicable local, state, federal and/or international
regulations. It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to know and comply
with all applicable regulations. Products shall not be used for any illegal
purpose."

and

"5) The purchaser agrees to consult with a licensed healthcare practitioner if
the product ordered is intended as a dietary supplement, nutraceutical, or
consumable foodstuff."

These are still objectionable for the reasons Paul gave above. If a fair number
of people registered their complaint to James Dyer, he might very well be
motivated to remove these clauses or at least modify them so that they are
reminders only of existing government regulations (#2) and what he thinks is
wise practice (#5). It is noteworthy to remind readers that Mind and Muscle
website owner, Justin Londergan, did change his website with the strongly worded
required discliamer (agreement with which was necessary before much of the
website could even be read) sometime after I emailed to him my disagreement in
April 2006 after attempting to read an article by Scott La Pidus. (See

I came across this and would like to confirm that this is the same product
that you ordered. The reason I am asking to be sure is that you stated above
you paid $45.70 for 3 lbs, but this item:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Potassium-Citrate-Tripotassium-citrate-3-Lb_W0QQitemZ2500413\
88527QQihZ015QQcategoryZ83896QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

is selling for far less, ie $14.95.

Is this the same product you purchased?

[I don't have the details available right here, but I think that the $45.70
included the shipping/handling cost (which as I recall was extraordinarily high,
but the whole was still lower than elsewhere so I went for it). However, they
may well have lowered their price and as I said before I thought that I was
purchasing 3 - 1 lb bags which would be a little more expensive. I wanted it
that way because there would then be less chance of moisture contamination and
caking during the usage of the supply. The item number that I got (from an email
invoice) matches exactly the item number of your link above. --Paul]

Thanks for the leads. BTW how did you think to find this on Ebay, I never came
across this store before in my previous attempts and was wondering how you
find your sources so easily.

[As I recall it came up as an ad when I searched with Google for "potassium
citrate buy OR sell". It does not come up now, so I guess I was just lucky that
time. I don't normally find things easily at all. Many times I have wondered how
it is that others have so easily found things that I could not :-) The two major
reasons that I have been able to find sources for chemicals, that are either not
included in or not allowed at high dosages in supplements, are that I work hard
at it, particularly digging into full papers (which generally give their sources
of chemicals), and that I post a lot about such things which often brings input
from others. Maybe if I was more sociable and "chatty" then I would find sources
more easily than I do, but overall I think the best use of time is as I have
chosen. --Paul]

Thank you again for your reply,
Erich
