Hello Kitty and Paul
I hope you feel good
[Very good, thank you. Much better since some long hanging items are nearing
completion. **Kitty]
I'm still working on talking about my own experience
of one meal a day eater when I got some time and I noticed this
In the very large spreadsheet in Excel.
at the bottom line, it's written D- Robsoe (!) which, I suppose, should be
replaced by D-Ribose and it's written reseratrol which, I assume, stand for
Resveratrol
[It took me a little looking, but I found where on that spreadsheet you are
referring - the ingredients column headings (repeated at the bottom below the
totals). Actually I had the resveratrol spelled correctly at the top, but not
the bottom. I typically create each at the top and copy to the bottom so I was
surprised to see that error only at the bottom. I've corrected both on our
working copy of the SS and the corrections will appear online in the next upload
of that file. Thanks for letting me know. **Kitty]
I don't know if this kind of things should be reported to you
[You and others can always let me know these types of things by email unless you
think that the mistake may confuse others and therefore needs to be addressed
here at the group. **Kitty]
I got a question: in this spreadsheet, the lines in red mean you don't take
the product anymore (the red color is very useful) : so you don't take BCAA
anymore ?
I looked in the change record but I only found the remark "Increased Branched
Chain Amino Acids from 1 to 2 each meal - recently studies show benefit from
more dietary Leucine" dated at "10/24/05 thru 1/10/06" and I also saw your
former dosage in the 2-meal sheet
[Now this is an error where addressing in public can be beneficial. There is a
note on the SS that states: "2/1/07: no reorder; reevaluate usage". If you put
your cursor on a cell with a red dot in the upper right corner the note will
appear. Apparently though, I did not copy this over to the Change Notice table
of the Regimen pages for me and Paul. I'll do that with the next upload that
will include the correction of links (Javascript ones, which I can only check by
clicking each one) that you let me know about by email.
Actually the color of the rows of an item on the SS that has been newly
discontinued should show up as orange. I've reserved red for a serious stop -
where we don't even use up the remaining. (The color should properly be red for
the Branched Chain Amino Acids and the Glutamine.) And then after a subsequent
Regimen page update or a few months, I just eliminate the row(s) of discontinued
items entirely from the SS. (Our historical usage can be determined from the
Change History pages.)
This type of SS is of great value for any serious life-extensionist who is
making use of multi-ingredient sources of supplements. One can only know the
totals of basic items/ingredients if they are determined from each source and
the total of all available sources added. These are of course only those
supplementary to one's diet. We definitely keep in mind what we are eating -
like the generous daily amount of fresh and frozen berries and other fruit - and
consider how this is, in actuality, contributing to a complete nutritional
intake for each of us. **Kitty]
[With respect to why I decided to stop taking branched-chain amino acids, it is
a very mixed decision. The major reason that I was supplementing them before
(even though they are not essential, being made by the body) is because there is
much evidence that they are particularly beneficial for the liver. However, with
my recent reading and emphasis on autophagic proteolysis, I found good evidence
that leucine (and glutamine also good for the liver and the gut and no longer
taken by me and Kitty) inhibit proteolysis. We also likely get sufficient of
both BCCA's and glutamine within the whey protein that we take at our daily
meal. Likely when taken with just the one meal these amino acids will have
little inhibitory effect on the proteolysis which then takes place much later
when we are in a fasted state (additionally aided, we hope, by taking acipimox).
For anyone who has any liver problems (and I will be watching my enzymes even
more carefully now), I would still recommend taking supplemental BCCA's and
glutamine. --Paul]
Thank you
