I was pleasantly surprised today when my twin brother Egill received
an email from Pat Murphy the host and producer of the "Alien Air
Music" radio show, which is aired in Los Angeles. He told us he very
much liked the music we had written under the name EO music and
wanted to play some of it on his show. According to Murphy, the Alien
Air Music radio show http://members.aol.com/aamkxlu/ features
international synth music and is very popular with fans, broadcasting
Sunday nights from 9-11pm (PST) in Los Angeles since 1984.
He has now just sent us a confirmation that he is planning to play
some of our tracks on the show this sunday night. Murphy hosts the
program on Sundays at 9-11pm at the KXLU 88.9 FM radio in Los Angeles
http://www.kxlu.com/ and plans to broadcast some of our tracks in
the second hour of his program. So if any MoreLife readers are
interested they can tune in at the KXLU 88.9 FM radio at 10pm on
Sunday.
For those with high speed connection it is also possible to listen to this
station online by going to this link: http://www.kxlu.com/main/index.asp ,then
clicking on "Listen Live" in the upper left corner of the page and then clicking
play.
I and Egill are very pleased to hear this since receiving airplay has
been one of our goals since we started writing music. Finally we will
accomplish this goal:-)
[This was great news to get from Olafur by email and why I urged him to make a
post so that others either in the LA area or with a high speed Internet
connection could hear some of his and Egill's music. Unfortunately we won't be
able to tune in with our slow dial-up here in Ontario, but we hope others will
do so. (We do have CDs of their music - both the EO and DualMind productions.)
Olafur and Egill's music is getting a pictorial (and possibly audio) plug right
now at http://members.aol.com/aamkxlu/ - "IDM from Iceland June 4". Nice scenic
pictures. If the pieces being featured were ones done as DualMind I would
immediately think the "IDM" stands for International Dance Music. But that
doesn't quite fit for the EO Music since it is more ethereal, more for listening
pleasure.
We'll be interested to hear about the program and Olafur and Egill's music from
those who tune in locally or via Internet. **Kitty]
[Last summer after downloading all their music, I played it very often on the
computer in a shuffle mix of all pieces from both EO and the later written
DualMind name, particularly when we could get nothing from the Internet because
of our slow dial up. I like it all, but I prefer the DualMind pieces because
they are generally more energetic. --Paul]
