This afternoon I slowly (due to the dial-up connection we are
currently stuck with here at the cottage) uploaded updated versions of
all the individual research chemical, supplement and prescription med
pages currently part of MoreLife.org, including a new page about
N-acetyl-L-carnosine in the Supplements section. As part of this
update, Paul located and reviewed a large number of new abstracts
and full papers for their contribution to the information, on the
current and new review pages. Those papers for which we could
obtain full text (most with Olafur's assistance) have links on the
Reference Index to our pdfs for personal use by readers. A few have
free online html or pdf copies and links to those sites are provided
where available. As usual, all abstracts have links to PubMed.
It is hoped that readers of MoreLife.org make use of these resources
to increase their understanding of the subject material. If after
doing one's own research on the fundamentals and new information, a
reader has questions or comments, posting here at MoreLife Yahoo is
welcome to those who have fulfilled identification requirements to us.
(Please see Group Policy in Files section for details.)

The page on N-acetyl-L-carnosine was actually uploaded already in
mid-April without any announcement and updated shortly afterward.
We are hopeful that it will elicit a great deal of interest.

N-acetyl-L-Carnosine - http://morelife.org/supplements/NALC.html
An acetylated form of the naturally occurring peptide carnosine which
has equivalent benefits (once it is deacetylated) but is resistant to
cleaving by the carnosinase enzyme (until it is deacetylated) and
therefore operates as a timed-release form of carnosine (because the
deacetylation is not instantaneous).

Pyridoxamine - http://morelife.org/supplements/PM.html - A naturally
occurring B6 vitamer which is scarce in food and has strong glycation
inhibiting properties.

R-Alpha lipoic acid - http://morelife.org/supplements/RLA.html - A
lipid and water soluble antioxidant, the pure R(+) enantiomer of which
is produced in minute quantities by the body.

Acarbose - http://morelife.org/prescripdrugs/acarbose.html - A xenobiotic
drug that inhibits the starch and sugar digesting enzyme alpha
glucosidase in the intestinal tract.

ALT-711- http://morelife.org/researchems/ALT-711.html - An advanced
glycation endproduct (AGE) crosslink breaker, currently in clinical
trials.

Aminoguanidine - http://morelife.org/researchems/AG.html - A
xenobiotic drug used in Europe for diabetic therapy which greatly
inhibits the formation of Advanced Glycation End-Products (AGEs).

N-tert-butyl hydroxylamine - http://morelife.org/researchems/NtBHA.html
A chemical with great potential for mitochondrial health which has
been the subject of much favorable research.

SuperOxide Dismutase/Catalase Mimetics -
http://morelife.org/researchems/EUK-189.html - Those under development
which appear to have the best overall benefit.

The pages for the above items can also be reached via the Supplements
or Reaching (Lifespan - Reaching Your Potential) sections of the
Science Index - http://morelife.org/scienceindex.html - and also from
those two sections which are noted as updated on the MoreLife front
page. In conjunction with these pages of course, the Reference Index
(all 3 pages) have been updated in the past few weeks and many pdf
copies of full papers have been added to the MoreLife reference library.

The MoreLife/SelfSIP Supporting page -
http://morelife.org/supporting.html - has been updated and, as is the
practice, all sections of MoreLife updated in the recent months are
noted on the website home page - http://morelife.org

As always, please notify me by email of errors found - typographical,
bad links, omissions, etc. This is always appreciated.
