Late last night I made an upload to MoreLife, which I updated
earlier this afternoon:
- Personal Statistics for November
http://morelife.org/personal/health/ are in place; these will now
include Paul's and my waist/hip ratio. A newly published study
(now available at PubMed, and briefly synopsized on the Science
Index under Health - http://morelife.org/scienceindex.html) of a
very large multi-ethnic international group of humans shows that
waist/hip ratio has a stronger association to acute myocardial
infarction (heart attack) than does BMI. An article at Eureka Alert
earlier this month was the press release for the Lancet paper - in
case anyone here hasn't already read it:
http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2005-11/mu-oms110305.php
- Diet Regimen http://morelife.org/personal/health/dietregimen.html
and More Dietary Ideas
http://morelife.org/personal/health/dietregmore.html include more
information on buckwheat, a valuable food which has been mostly
ignored in North America where wheat gets more attention than it
deserves based on studies.
Also updated are the Reference Index, Practice Index, Comments and
Supporting pages.
Paul and I had our blood drawn this morning for a passel of tests
(pm cortisol yet to be done this afternoon). Therefore, results
discussions will likely be available by early next month. Also, the
supplement regimens for both of us are in the process of being
updated following our latest order received from LEF soon after we
arrived in Arizona on 10/19. With the latest MoreLife update this
morning I included the added references for regular prophylactic use
of echinacea in Paul's changes for 9/14/05.

Dear readers,
It's "web-only Monday" at RRND -- 30 news stories and 37 commentaries
awaiting your attention!
http://www.rationalreview.com/news
Now that things have returned to normal for a couple of months
following last summer's server crash, and now that we've been able to
help launch some new projects elsewhere, we're starting to think
about where to take this project next. I've been mulling the idea of
weeklong "symposia" on various issues and problems: One article each
day (some new, some older but of proven interest) on the same topic,
connected to a common discussion thread. These symposia would focus
on areas where no real consensus could be said to exist among
libertarians. For example, privacy and intellectual property. As a
matter of fact, I started thinking more about doing this kind of
thing after reading a recent, fascinating piece by Kitty Antonik
Wakfer (with content included from Paul Wakfer) of MoreLife/Self-
Sovereign Individual Project which addresses both (and netiquette to
boot!), "Communication Fluidity and the Obstacle of Privacy Claims"
I can think of a dozen or more topics right off the bat, from the
obvious (the Iraq war) to the long-standing (Georgism) ... but I'm
interested in whether or not YOU are interested. Comment and debate
on most of the articles we feature is fairly light. Can we do
something different to get you, our readers, involved? Drop me a
line at thomaslknapp at yahoo.com if you have an opinion or
suggestion.
Back tomorrow with the regular email edition!
Yours in liberty,

Tom had previously included other articles I've written in the
past couple months and is looking forward to Paul's in-progress
improvements to some of his own essays.
The RRND is a good collection of liberty-oriented lead-ins of and
links to news items and commentary that I would likely not see since
I rarely have time to surf through the numerous individual
news/commentary sites which I have bookmarked. If you haven't seen
it or have and haven't subscribed, I recommend it as a daily source of
information most often not included in TV/radio news broadcasts
or given much print space in most newspapers.
