I am thrilled you have found us.
Thank you for buying my book.
Eating macrobiotically does require some planning and organisation to make sure grains and beans are soaked when you need them. I suggest you read the ‘short cuts’ and ‘ten minute meals’ sections of my book to make this easier.
Once you are familiar with the foods it is easy to take any recipe and substitute ingredients to give the dish a more healthy feel. This way you can keep increasing your repertoire. There are also so many macrobiotic recipe books and it is worth looking into these for new ideas.
All the best,
Simon

Hi, I'm Nancy, and am thrilled to have found this forum! I began my
foray into macrobiotics back in October after I was diagnosed with
Grave's disease. I began to see a doctor of Oriental medicine out of
shear determination to not succumb to western medicines
brutal "treatment" of this disease. It is in essence an autoimmune
disease, so I understood that destroying my thyroid in order
to "manage" the symptoms was doing nothing to treat the disease. The
accupuncture and herbs prescribed by the OMD have helped greatly, but I
also know that without purging my body of all the destructive toxins I
have consumed over the years, plus providing an environment where my
body can come back into balance, there will never be any healing.
Hence, I have turned to this diet, which I love, but am struggling with
staying the course. The book I have found easiest to use is Modern Day
Macrobiotics. I am hoping to glean from all of you how you have been
able to make this work in daily life with ease and without boredom.
Thank you, Simon, for your book and this forum!
