Re: [moderndaymacrobiotics] pressure cookers

Hi Gary,  I have a larger Kuhn Rikon, that I also really like.  Didn't realize that anyone sold Kuhn Rikon in the 3 qt size - Isn't it fantastic the choices that we now have!  So many more products & people are now making it even easier for newbies to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
Thanks.

Much appreciated Dottie, and I concur that the 3 quart / liter size of most pressure cookers seems a good one to choose.

http://www.simply-natural.biz/cookware-pressure-cookers.php We got a lot of types to choose from including the silit which really is wonderful, but all the other models we sell are top of the line too like WMF, Kuhn Rikon, Lagostina. The new B/R/K pressure cooking system we sell has won some major awards and is simplicity plus to use. It comes with two pots that can be used either as conventional pots for cooking or with a pressure cooker lid, as a pressure cooker.

Hi Chad,

I really like the looks & versatility of my 3 qt Silit Pressure Cooker.  It's small enough to cook just several servings of grain, while being large enough to make 3 days worth of grain for hubby & me.

The enamel supposedly reduces metallic tastes & even allows the grain to be soaked before cooking - love not having an additional bowl to wash. For summer cooking, I boil the grain in the Silit, using a tight-fitting lid, rather than the pressure lid.

Gary sells Silit, 3 qts, with free shipping (last time that I checked).

In case he's out of stock, I got mine from Morgan Jones of Texas (One Part Harmony).  Like Gary, he was extremely helpful.

Can anybody suggest a reasonable size of pressure cooker for a two person adult family?  Adequate for most cooking chores?

Thanks, Chad
