Hi all

Presently, someone who is close to me but not yet interested in using diet and philosophy to heal herself of pancreatic cancer, now that the chemotherapy has failed to stop her tumors from growing, asked me to send her a book (after I called and told her that she is not doomed and her condition could be reversed) and I've ordered a copy of Nature's Cancer Fighting Foods: Prevent and Reverse the Most Common Forms of Cancer Using the Proven Power of Great Food and Easy Recipes by Verne Varona and I hope it gets to her in time and she reads it and starts following the suggestions and guidance that Verne offers!

This person has been bigger than life for at least the 60 years that I have known her and has had a lust and an appetite for delicious (but very fatty and sugary) food and life that has known few bounds and now she is afraid to have it curtailed before she is through with it!

A 87 year old gourmet homecook who lives in The South (-ern U.S.), who has entertained and fed thousands, she once visited me when I was working at the East West Center for Macrobiotic Studies in Los Angeles run by Roy and Marijke Steevensz and had a meal at The East-West Family Kitchen and found the food too bland and tasteless!

Shortly after visiting me, she married her third husband, a physician, and for most of the last 25 years has refused to see a connection between a diet, diet related philosophy, and health, and her daughter, a profession gourmet chef who lives close by has kept that interest in the fulfillment of the taste buds via a gourmet carnivorous-centered modern civilization diet that I feel has gradually taken it's toll on her, her 89 year old husband  (who has lost much of his faculties [eyesight, hearing, clarity, memory, maybe suffering from Alzeimer's and dementia])!

The daughter, recently an epileptic, has received and occasionally looked at various macrobiotic books that I have given her and has kept a few macrobiotic healing foods in her larder, will be also getting a copy of Verne's book as she often feeds her mother who has been too weak from her cancer and chemo (and has been slowly recovering from a serious hip replacement).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you, very much.

Great life, peace and joy!

Love,

Bruce Paine
