Hi Folks:
As you know, we have spent much time and energy attempting to
bring sanity to the Cannabis laws. Now that I have decided not to
seek elected office, we are focusing our energy on changing the
existing laws against cannabis use in all its forms. If you agree
with me that these oppressive laws need changing, then I invite you
to become involved in this effort.
Our first event will be the May 1st, 7:30 p.m. Kentucky premier
of the feature documentary HEMPSTERS: Plant the Seed at the historic
Kentucky Theatre in downtown Lexington. This film follows the efforts
of several activists who want to change the laws for various reasons.
They include Woody Harrellson, Willie Nelson, Merle Hagard,
Julia "Butterfly" Hill and others including myself. The tickets are
$10 and are available through the Kentucky Theatre (859) 231-6997 or
at my office (859) 259-1522. These tickets are rare to begin with
(Only 750), so purchase them for yourself, your friends and family
early. All proceeds go to the Defense Fund for Alex White Plume.
You'll understand why after you see the film.
Our next event will be a public RALLY, to change the cannabis
laws in every respect, on Saturday May 3rd, from 10:00a.m. until Noon
at Phoenix Park (next to the public library) on Main Street in
downtown Lexington. There will be live music and interesting speakers
from throughout the community. Please be there!
