DRUGS? I HAVE NO PROBLEMS - KEITH

ROLLING Stones legend and former heroin addict Keith Richards has condoned
drug use.

"I have no problems with drugs, but I have problems with people who deal in
them," Richards, 59, told the Herald Sun.

"If you didn't have to go down to the bloody gutter to get it, and meet the
people who live there, it wouldn't be so bad."

His comments drew immediate and angry fire from authorities and anti-drug
lobby groups.

National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre spokesman Paul Dillon said
Richards was on dangerous ground.

A-G ACCUSED OF BEING IN CONTEMPT OF COURT

In the Darwin Magistrates Court the Network Against Prohibition has accused
the Northern Territory's Attorney-General of contempt of court.

The court is hearing a case involving an incident last year when a group of
protesters stormed the Legislative Assembly to protest against new drug laws.

Seven members of the network, charged in relation to that incident, have
appeared in court this morning.

Gary Meyerhoff told the court he has written to the Director of Police
Prosecutions, Rex Wilde, asking him to investigate whether Attorney-General
Peter Toyne's comments, made during an interview on ABC radio in September
last year, are in contempt.

Mr Meyerhoff told the court today during that interview Dr Toyne mentioned
his name and said the public was sick of the Network Against Prohibition
and its actions.

Mr Meyerhoff said he was concerned that other magistrates may have heard
that interview.

The hearing will continue this afternoon after the network was unsuccessful
in its attempt to have it adjourned for several weeks.

POLICE BUST JEWISH-ARAB NETWORK SUSPECTED OF TRADING HASHISH FOR
INTELLIGENCE WITH HEZBOLLAH

Eleven Israelis - Jews and Arabs - have been charged with running one
of the largest drug smuggling networks in the North of the country
since the Israel Defense Forces' withdrawal from Lebanon.

The ring, captured about a month ago following a joint Shin Bet and
northern police district investigation, provided the Hezbollah with
intelligence and military equipment, including photographs of northern
sites, night-vision glasses, an Israeli Statistical Yearbook and
electronic dictionaries. In exchange, it received hundreds of kilgrams
of hashish from Lebanon.

The defendants are residents of Ghajar village on the Lebanese border,
Kiryat Shmona and the central region. Their contact man with the
Hezbollah was Lebanese drug dealer Ramzi Nahara, who was killed in
December 2002, when his car blew up in Lebanon.

HAYWARD SEES GROWTH IN POT DISPENSARIES

Three Clinics Have Been Operating Quietly, And Two More Have Applied For
Permits To Open

HAYWARD -- A sprouting hub of medical marijuana dispensaries has some
people calling the downtown area "Haysterdam," a hybrid of Hayward and
Amsterdam -- the Dutch city known for its drug tolerance.

Within just a couple of blocks, there are three businesses dispensing
medical marijuana, and two are proposed for the future.

"Hayward is the first stop for people coming from the Peninsula and Santa
Clara County," said Phillip Mol, owner of Helping Hands Patients' Center on
B Street, adding that patients stop in Hayward instead of traveling to
Oakland for marijuana.

News of the latest proposed dispensary buzzed last week among downtown
business owners as they received notification from the city about a use
permit under consideration for Total Hayward Compassion, proposed at a site
on B Street between Main Street and Mission Boulevard.

MEDICAL POT GROWERS FIND NO REFUGE FROM FEDS

Marijuana growers who believed they were protected by the movement in
Sonoma County and across California to sanction medicinal marijuana have
been targeted by federal agents in a stepped up battle against pot. The
crackdown in the wake of a key U.S. Supreme Court ruling almost two years
ago has swept up seven Sonoma County medical marijuana growers. A Windsor
man has been sent to federal prison. Santa Rosa and Jenner men face
sentencing in San Francisco federal court. Two Santa Rosa men await federal
charges. And one Petaluma man is preparing for trial while another has fled
to Canada.

Medical marijuana advocates say they are casualties of the federal
government's campaign against people who grow and use marijuana for cancer,
chronic pain, AIDS and other illnesses allowed under the ballot measure
California voters approved seven years ago.

COUNTY POT GROWERS NAILED BY DEA

Seven Sonoma County men who were growing marijuana for medicinal use have
been arrested, charged or sentenced since the U.S. Drug
Enforcement Administration began targeting growers.

* Mike Foley, 36, Jenner: Grew marijuana at his home for his use. Arrested
in June of last year. Pleaded guilty in December to growing fewer than 100
plants. Sentencing set for March 19.

* Keith Alden, 53, Windsor: A jury found Alden guilty in February last year
of growing more than 700 plants and he was sentenced to probation. In a
subsequent case, a jury found Alden guilty in November of growing a
measurable amount and he was sentenced to more than 40 months in prison. He
is housed at the federal detention center in Dublin.

STATE LAWMAKERS CRAFT BILL ON POT DEFENSE

Bipartisan Plan Aimed to Provide Protection From Federal Criminal Conviction

Three California members of Congress are preparing a bipartisan bill
to let medical marijuana users, growers and providers protect
themselves from federal criminal conviction -- a bill sure to face an
uphill battle.

Reps. Sam Farr, D-Carmel; Lynn Woolsey, D-Petaluma; and Dana
Rohrabacher, R-Huntington Beach, are "putting together a bill that
would basically say that in states that have medical marijuana
statutes, you are able to use as a defense that you were in possession
or distributing ... marijuana for medical reasons," said Rochelle
Dornatt, Farr's chief of staff.

BOLIVIA MOVING TO EASE U.S.-AIDED COCA ERADICATION

COCHABAMBA, Bolivia - Bolivia's government is preparing to relax its
unpopular effort to eradicate coca and allow farmers to grow the raw
material from which cocaine is made.

The move, which could come within a week, would be a sharp reversal of
Washington's only success in curbing drug production in South America's
Andean region. U.S. officials fear that any increase in legal coca
production would also be an opening to greater illicit sales. The United
States has given Bolivia more than $1.3 billion in counter-narcotics and
development aid since 1993.

However, embattled Bolivian President Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada vowed as a
campaigner to review the coca-eradication policy, and his leading opponents
are pro-coca.

US TRIO ABDUCTED DURING SECRET ANTI-DRUG MISSION

THREE Americans thought to have been captured by left-wing guerrillas in
Colombia were on a secret intelligence mission inside rebel-held territory,
according to military sources.

A huge search-and-rescue mission being carried out by 1,000 Colombian
troops, assisted by US spy aircraft, has so far found no sign of the men,
who could become valuable bargaining chips in the hands of the
Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (Farc), the country's largest rebel
army. Two others, an American and a Colombian, were reported to have been
shot dead during the capture.

The men were travelling on Thursday morning from Bogota, the capital, to
the Larandia military base, an anti-drug and counter-insurgency operations
centre in thick jungle about 235 miles to the south. US special forces have
trained Colombian anti-drug battalions at Larandia and US military
intelligence experts also operate radar facilities that track
drug-smuggling flights, as well as co-ordinating aerial eradication of drug
crops.

Subject: gasoline shopping!

We CAN buy gasoline that's not from Middle East. Why didn't George W. think of this? Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even be good for us!

The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor. An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia.
Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends. I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil (for the period 9/1/00 - 8/31/01):

Shell............................205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco.........144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil................130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway...117,740,000 barrels
Amoco.........................62,231,000 barrels

If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount
to over $18 BILLION!

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

Citgo....................0 barrels
Sunoco............. ...0 barrels
Conoco............. ..0 barrels
Sinclair............... 0 barrels
BP/Phillips.......... 0 barrels
Hess...................0 barrels

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing. They report
on a monthly basis. Keep this list in your car; share it with friends. Stop paying for terrorism.............

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't wimp out at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE
MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION
PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. How muchwould all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next eight days!

Hey, I can't get it that you can be THAT blind!

read your E-mail once again and try to understand what you've written!! You're blind, aren't you? It's not France and Germany selling equipment to Iraq, it's your beloved, spotless USA!! What do you think, how your secret agencies know what Iraq has? Because they've sold that (whatever) to it!

And don't forget that during the WW2 USA was the leading nation, proud with democracy and so on... but now, where's the democracy? All you have is a lot of fear, a president that was not elected by people but by oil lobbies (and as you wrote yourself, he doesn't want no alternative energy around, because he's a Mafia member), and threatened "American way of life".

And everything seems to be even worse in the future :-((

Which country has large quantities of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, and an idiot in charge??

I've seen results of an opinion pool yesterday. Question was: Who is at the moment the biggest threat to world peace? And almost 90% decided it is USA, 7% were for Iraq and 3% for Corea.

Now, think a little before you advertise a country which wants to play the role of world policeman, judge and prosecutor in one "person"... It's like somebody says that you're bad just because you don't share his opinion, then he sentences you to beating, and finally beats the living hell out of you. Oh, and yes, he's two heads bigger than you (and much stronger, too) and carries a machine-gun with him all the time...

Take some IBO and get your attic in order, that's my advice! Maybe then you'll get rid of brainwashing!!

The US left over 150,000 men buried in France helping them to get rid of the Nazi's and Germany was built up by the US after the war - read your history!
If the US so deemed it, we would be running on alternative energy today, the technology is here, unfortunately, people like Bush and Cheney have their personal fortunes in the Oil Mafia!

Hi all,

perhaps you don't know, but USA are after Iraq not because of oil, but
because Iraq decided not to keep money reserves in US& anymore, but
switched to EURO. This made US$ a few % cheaper... and all OPEC countries
are thinking to switch to EURO, too, and that would make US$ drop for
40%... So, USA has to prevent this, ergo - Bush is after Iraq.

Can't find the link, but here's another link which you'll love! Well, most
 of you, anywayz ;-))

Out of curiosity, and even while guilty of my own off-topic posts in this
vein, but what in the heck does this ranting have to do with Ibogaine?
Especially the ever so quaint "fuck off" to Marco, who is only telling it
like it is?
"Everybody has short memories regarding the good the US does" my butt.
Ask those tortured and killed by Vladamir Montesinos about the good the US
does, or Manuel Noreiga, or Gulbidden Hekmatyar, CIA-lackies all who
trafficked tons of drugs, killed lots of opponents and did all sorts of
other mean, nasty, dastardly things while in power and receiving US
guidance, arms and money, money that coulda been used to help pay for US
health care rather than prop up murderous drug trafficking criminal
terrorist types and protect US corporate investments. Oh heck, I almost
forgot, add Saddam Hussein to that list of CIA/US military beneficiaries.
Why should I and my fellow US citizens, not to mention the citizens of all
these countries that have had US "good" shoved down their throats over the
years already, have to pay in blood and money for the mistakes and crimes of
our murderous government and their lackies?
Anyone who follows the War on Some Drugs and Users and knows the lies
and crimes committed by prohibitionist forces while waging it, and can still
buy into the propaganda promoted by the very same powers-that-be about
anything else leaves me wondering about perspectives and motives, to be
quite frank about it. Of course, perhaps you A. Artze are buying into the
WOSD as well?

Please subscribe to new MMM email list. Public archive still open.

The public MMM email list at Yahoo Groups now requires people to subscribe
in order to post messages to the list and the public archive. For a few
weeks I set it up so that non-members could also send in email messages to
the list. That was to help people send in MMM rally reports. It worked.
The archive also got some spam too. That was deleted. But people should
keep sending in MMM-related stuff. Just subscribe first.

The MMM message archive itself is still public and accessible to anybody:

there are links to archived messages, and to web pages with even more MMM
