freeware IrfanView were used.

http://www.irfanview.com - IrfanView is a free image editor
that is useful for adapting these flyers and banners for
your needs. Download the full-size gif images since they use
far fewer kilobytes compared to the 640x480 and 800x600 jpg
versions of the same image. JPG image files are mainly for
photos and images with lots of color gradation. GIF image
files are much better for flyers and banners. IrfanView can
easily edit, reduce, or enlarge gif and jpg images.

Civil Obedience Movement to stop war on drug users in
Hungary

March 31, Budapest--- Drug users' surrender actions
are organized to show failure of existing drug laws in
Hungary and to press the government for
decriminalization of drug use.
The protest action initiated by the Hemp Seed
Association, an NGO advocating for drug users' rights
and drug policy reform in Hungary, started last
Wednesday when three activists, escorted by the
lawyers of the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union, came
to the Budapest Police Headquarter to report about
their drug use. Disturbance and shock were the first
reaction of police officers witnessed by at least ten
cameras and more than 30 journalists. Police soon
bowed out the three young men from the sight of
journalists in order to record their confessions.
Later the activists were transferred to a police
laboratory to subject them to urinary analysis. They
were released after three hours.

According to Peter Juhasz, the spokesperson of the
Hemp Seed Association, the action aims to express
their discontent to present drug legislation which
prosecutes thousands of youngsters for simple
possession of illicit substances. The activists
announce the establishment of a Civil Obedience
Movement (instead of a Civil Disobedience Movement)
that seeks to point out the glaring injustice of
strict drug laws with mass surrender of drug users,
that is being obedient to drug laws. This week already
8 new activists reported their drug use at the police
station, according to Juhasz this number will increase
from week to week. The lawyers of the Hungarian Civil
Liberties Union provide legal assistance to everybody
who is willing to participate in the action and
printed out a legal guide to prepare them for all
possibilities.

"This is about sincerity and fairness. If you are a
drug user you should face criminal prosecution every
day;  it only depends on good luck if you are not
punished. Government says they do not intend to
imprison and criminalize drug users but this is the
evidence that it is not true. You can undergo a very
humiliating procedure and loss of your freedom all the
time just because you smoked a joint some weeks ago.
Only 1-2 percent of drug users can be considered as
problem users in Hungary and even they do not need
imprisonment, only effective and free services to
improve quality of their life," he said.

The Hemp Seed Association calls all Hungarian citizens
who have used some kind of illicit substance in one
point of their lives to come out to the police office
this week on Wednesday. According to the expectations
of the organization the more people will come the more
pressure is on the government to change the laws. "We
don't believe in forced treatment and medicalization.
We would like to show that we want to live as
law-abiding citizens," Juhasz adds.

The media response to the action was as positive as
the public support. The story was among the head news
in Hungarian television channels. One leading national
newspaper came out next day with the editorial "Bring
It on Hemp Seed!" Mr. Juhasz said his cell phone was
blocked for hours by supporting text messages and
people shook his hand on the street. Only some
conservative papers criticized the action saying that
it was only a television show to advertise drug use.

The present drug law in Hungary threats drug users
with two years of imprisonment for drug possession for
personal use. In reality this sentence is rarely
implemented due to judges who see the unfairness of
this penalty; usually arrested users are often charged
with high fines, deprived of their freedom for shorter
or longer time, subjected to humiliating procedures
like urinary tests or referred to forced treatment for
smoking marijuana once or twice. During recent weeks
police raided several rave parties in different towns
of Hungary. Police officers walked in the clubs and
investigated all guests with flashlight searching for
signs of drug use (e.g. dilated pupils or red eyes)
and arrested more than hundred young people who were
suspected drug users.

County, organizer to strike Weedstock deal

A tussle over a pro-pot festival could be resolved "sooner rather than later," Sauk County's attorney said Tuesday.

The issue began in May of 2000 when Sauk County sheriff's deputies backed by police officers from around the area ended the annual "Weedstock" festival of music, political speeches and marijuana advocacy just as it began on a field east of Baraboo. They were acting to enforce the county open air assembly ordinance, which had been recently updated by the Sauk County Board.

Event organizer and marijuana-legalization advocate Ben Masel refused to obtain a permit for the event, arguing that provisions in the ordinance restricted freedom of speech and assembly of Weedstock participants. He initially faced charges of resisting officers after he tried to order them off the property. He leased the property from local farmer Marcus Gumz.

The misdemeanor criminal charges and a civil case were dismissed after the Wisconsin Court of Appeals ruled the ordinance was unconstitutional in July of 2003.
Once the ordinance was found to be defective, Masel's attorney, Jeff Scott Olson of Madison, said the primary issue became what damages should Sauk County pay for shutting down the event.

On Tuesday both parties made statements indicating they could reach a resolution soon, but no one gave specifics.

"I expect it will be resolved shortly," Masel said. "We kind of just wore them out by endurance."

Sauk County Corporation Counsel Todd Liebman indicated some sort of tentative agreement had been reached, but said he could not even discuss the appeals court's recent decision involving a side issues in the case.

"Hopefully, this particular litigation will be resolved sooner rather than later," he said.
Masel said once the parties reach an agreement he will feel his rights to freedom of assembly have been vindicated.

He said Weedstock will not return to the field on Highway U and the festival will not be on Memorial Day as it was in the past.

"I really haven't started working yet," said Masel

City shuts marijuana co-op

http://www.santacruzsentinel.com/archive/2005/April/05/local/stories/01local.htm

April 5, 2005
By SHANNA MCCORD
Sentinel staff writer

SANTA CRUZ - A Pacific Avenue medical marijuana cooperative has been forced to close by the city Planning Department.

The Planning Department demanded the immediate shutdown of Pacific Coast Cooperative on Friday after learning it allowed medical marijuana patients to sell and trade the drug with each other - a violation of the city's zoning laws.

"They claimed to be a professional consulting business, so we just signed off on it," said Alex Khoury, a principal planner with the Planning Department. "The zoning code clearly distinguishes that that use is not permitted in the downtown commercial district."

Medical marijuana became legal in 1996 when state voters passed Proposition 215. Related businesses are permitted in the city's community commercial district or the industrial district, streets such as Ocean, Mission, River and Soquel Avenue, Khoury said.

Harvey West Business Park and the Westside's industrial buildings are examples of where such medical marijuana businesses might locate, he said.

However, Khoury said, the business must be located a maximum distance from schools, parks and homes.

Pacific Coast Cooperative opened six weeks ago and served about 200 people, co-founder Peter Koch said.

The co-op, in a second-floor office facing Pacific Avenue above Internet provider Cruzio and the nightclub Blue Lagoon, is in an office building that also houses an architect, lawyer and unions. The bus station is across the street.

"We're located across from the Metro for a reason," Koch said. "Half of our patients use the bus and many of our patients don't drive."

Koch said he and co-founder Matt Hilliard wanted to use the downtown office as a way to fight the stigma often associated with people who smoke medicinal pot and prove its legitimacy.

He and Hilliard figured if they could run a clean and low-key medical marijuana service downtown without bothering other businesses or neighbors, others would become more accepting and understanding.

There are roughly 4,000 medical marijuana patients in Santa Cruz County.

"We did not intend to deceive the Planning Department," Koch said. "We did intend to put something in place that would show what a medical marijuana dispensary or co-op should be like."

Michael Moran, owner of Steamroller Systems Inc., a software development company in the same hall with the co-op, said he had no idea marijuana sales and trades were taking place.

"I have no complaints at all," Moran said. "I'm happy they're here. They're fine."

Compassion Flower Inn owner Andrea Tischler said a medical marijuana co-op is needed to help guarantee patients receive top-quality organic cannabis.

Plus, a well-run co-op would prevent medical marijuana patients from having to drive to San Francisco or Oakland to find such services, Tischler said.

"Medical marijuana patients need to have safe access," she said. "They're not going to have that if they have to buy marijuana on the streets.

"Why not downtown?"

For now, Pacific Coast Cooperative has shut its doors while Hilliard and Koch attempt to work amicably with the city to stay downtown.

If they are unable, Koch said they will relocate.

"If it means they don't want us here, and we have to move, fine, we'll move," Koch said. "We're not renegades. We're just trying to serve the needs of patients in the community."

A common complaint by medical marijuana opponents is that the practice sends a bad message to youth.

Proposition 215 critics say it was a deceptive and poorly written initiative to exploit public compassion for the sick to legalize and legitimatize the widespread use of marijuana in California.

Subject:        [Ibogaine] Funds for Ibo

Hey Ron... I heartily agree with Jasen's words to you.    As far as paying for ibo, I can tell you my first trip was priced at around $1000 and that was certainly a lot more than I had laying around anywhere.  I remember telling a friend that if someone told me that I was going to hand over a grand to basically a total stranger, in a strange place, and let them give me a substance that hardly anyone in the world had ever heard of - I couldn't believe how ridiculous that sounded!

I guess I'm saying that if you just allow it into your head that YES you are drawn to ibogaine, and you are definitely going to do it at some point, even if you don't know exactly when - well,  it's going to happen for sure.  And for me, I just made up my mind that I would borrow the money somewhere, and just making up my mind like that seemed to cause the money to show up without it being such a stretch.  Plus, once you're thru the first experience, you can more easily work with it again at a greatly reduced stretch.

C'mon and give it a try. I know you can get the dough together, and if I ever met someone I think could really benefit from Iboga - it's definitely you!  Not to offend, but you just seem "blanketed" in such incredible negativity and hopelessness, and ibo will rip that away at least for a bit.  It did for me...

Best and luck to you,  Sandy

Subject:        Re: [Ibogaine] Finance

Ron, I told you months ago that I paid for my Ibogaine. I lied, I didn't. I didn't think it was any of your business who paid for my treatment. My step father paid for it. He's not rich, he just loves my mother more than life itself. At the time, him and I didn't get along very well, matter of fact after what he has experienced in his life I don't think there was anything about mine that he respected. After watching me go thru the Ibogaine experience he found something to respect. This from a man who flew through the Pluesti raid 100 feet off the ground in a B 24 watching his friends burst into flames and hit the ground. My relationship with this man may just be one of the best things that has happened after Ibogaine. I finally found my father. I'm telling you this at the risk of sarcasm from you, but I don't care, I want you to feel as free as I do right now. I didn't know how I was going to pay for the Ibogaine, I just knew that I had to do it, so I put all my effort into finding a way. I would have done anything short of selling my grand fathers sax to get it. A way found me. He didn't even like me at the time (my call) but somehow he knew it would change my life, not to mention it would shut my mother up for a while, (LOL). Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is, try and think positive, and con every mother fucker you can until you get what you need to do the Ibogaine. It sure helped me. Worry about the con later. You'll deal with it in the trip.    Randy        PS maybe one of these days I'll quit crying when I talk about my step father.

From:     myeboga@...
Subject:        [Ibogaine] (OT) The Shadow & Self Delusion

After my last response to the question of the Shadow I wanted to write a few more words of clarification.

A definition of the Shadow is one thing. To actually experience it is another.

In my own subjective experience the Shadow has appeared symbolically as an image of myself with a darkened face. The Shadow has also in the beginning appeared as a dark figure seeking my attention and doing what it can to disrupt the images in the session - like a destructive streak in a person which wants to wreck havoc until it gets attention.

To say that eboga is a door to the Shadow in my opinion implies that when one is ready to face the Shadow eboga will show it to you little by little. What that means is that eboga will take you deeper into yourself to experience yourself in a truer way. What this means is that you will have a return to a state of feeling and being that you have perhaps long avoided or feel you have left behind in your childhood.

Working from the example of sexual abuse which is the area that I have most experience with, Shadow experiences will give one the same feelings one had at the time of the abuse where one saw oneself as negative, and disagreeable, a person to be disliked etc. Surrounding this experience are the events which took place to create this negative self image - events to be uinderstood and integrated. Self awareness in the present allows one to reexperience these feelings but to act in a new way (you see through the lie) thus precipitating a new state of being aided by the trust one has in eboga to let you go deeper and to release via eboga - its like coming up for air.

Myself I spent years trying to feel good about myself and to put the past behind me. Hence I created Shadow material by repressing how I felt and the events which caused those feelings. I think this is a normal healthy reaction and possibly part of the healing curve, i.e., one builds a healthy part of the personality which can then help to heal the other part - thats how I have been doing it. Also, with Shadow material repressed, one can have moments of feeling good about oneself because one has created a life which one way or another avoids all stimuli which will return you to those feelings and events. One lives in a Shadow constructed protected world avoiding the Shadow. This does not last. Its a fallacy which inspires many to seek substitutes: money, power, sex .... One is never satisfied.

In this Shadow constructed world any event which leaves you feeling bad about yourself must be avoided and so we can enter into arguments in order to win our case and remove the sense of personal dislike we have resulting from what someone may have said to us that hit a nerve... This is sheer avoidance of ones own Shadow. We are trying to maintain an illusion about how we see ourselves. Our self awareness is based on a self created fantasy and is not real.

As one deepens in ones healing the way one reacts negatively to events in life (reactions not based on love) indicates Shadow material waiting to surface, to be understood and accepted.

I would like to add that the healing curve is not a straight line upwards. To go down is also very important. The only person who can truely judge a persons progress is the person themselves as the exterior signs often belie the overall picture of what is going on.

If one avoids the Shadow I believe it will continue to compromise your choices, support a state of self delusion, limit your experience of life and in the worse case lead to a spontaneous outburst.

Eboga is a cleanser and apart from clearing out chemicals in the body it also cleans the Shadow, so to speak, leading ultimately to a state of self love & love for others.

I hope this is a little clearer and please write back to me to clarify as this is relatively new to me also. I am still exploring these things and these are thoughts written straight up more or less.

With love,

Lee

Subject:        [Ibogaine] I need help on how to feel better -- anything at all, aside from a 45

Whomever,

I just returned yesterday from the "Ibogaine Association" facility in Tijuana Mexico.  Well, it's actually not in Tijuana but in Playa Del something or other which is a suburb of Tijuana.  It was a excellent facility and everyone was very professional.  I can tell you I was more than a little concerned about traveling to San Diego and crossing into Tijuana to try a psychedelic drug I heard of only recently.  "Yeah, right -- are you out of your f'ing mind?"  My wife was even less enthusiastic than I, to say the least  After 18 years of seeing me relapse (I have a 34 year serious drug habit), time and again, with various drugs (mostly narcotics although three very very serious cocaine periods) my wife was willing to try anything.  In any event, it cost $4,500.00 (not counting airfare) and was well worth every penny.  It beats the heck out of $15,000.00 for a 30 day treatment center or St. Kitts which I understand is about the same amount.  I would, however, be interested in doing it a second time in the US by someone who knew what the heck they were doing.  If anyone in the Seattle area has the ability and desire please let me know.  If nothing else, just to converse with.  The entire staff at the Ibogaine Association facility is outstanding and very professional.  I just can't say enough good things about them.  There are two doctors (very good doctors in my opinion).  Martin, who owns the facility (I believe) told me he got into Ibogaine as a last resort to help a close family member who had a serious crack problem.  Francisco was the doctor who administered the Ibogaine to me and was present throughout the experience.  There are nurses in the facility around the clock.  The facility is in a very upper-class neighborhood.  I was not worried about my belongings or safety at any time.  It was a very safe environment and a very comfortable stay -- well, as comfortable as I could have hoped for given the circumstances.

The experience itself was very physically painful for me.  My back ached, my head felt like it was in a vice and I could not get comfortable (It didn't help that I got there at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, slept all that day.  I had a bad EKG so they wouldn't give me the Ibogaine that evening at 7:00 p.m. as oriiginally planned.  Thus I went back to bed and stayed there all night until they gave me a second EKG the next morning which turned out normal.  Turns out I had left my watch on during the first EKG which is what I believe caused the arithmia.  They said it may have been some of the drugs in my system.  I think it was the watch.  Anyway, the next morning (Wednesday) I took the Ibogaine at 10 a.m.  Consequently, beforehand, I had been laying in bed for over 20 hours before I even started the experience.  I do not recommend that for sure.  During the experience I couldn't get comfortable.  I was on the bed on my back, then on my left side, then on my right side, then on the floor, then on my knees, then on my back on the floor, then on my side on the floor, then on a couch, then back on the bed, etc., etc., etc.  At least I didn't vomit.  I did not have a real intense visual experience.  There were visions, but nothing that frightened me.  I expected to see frightful things but it was actually fairly pleasant as far as visuals.  I felt like I was floating through space and there were millions of stars swooshing by me and they were actually other
souls, everyone ever born or to be born, and my thoughts were that we are all the same, here
for a short while to do the best that we can.  I realized my drug use is my own issue.  It is not due to the fact of the way I was raised, or where  I lived, or who my parents are, yada, yada, yada.  For some reason I have always blamed my drug use on the way I was raised and if just this hadn't happened, or that hadn't happend, I never would have gotten into this relentless cycle.  The reflective period was very enlightening and positive.  I am not suffering from the drug cravings or withdrawal symptoms that I would be if I were going through a normal detox.  This is very weird, to say the least.  I don't feel like a million bucks (or even a hundred bucks) by any stretch of the imagination.  I actually feel like total shit.  I can't think and I have difficulty getting up out of the chair.  There is some sneezing, muscle aches, I am extremely emotional and I am VERY drug out.  But no drug cravings.  It is unbelievable.  I have not gone looking for drugs which I would have done if I were going through a normal detox.  This is a very bizarre experience.

I am using Soma and Carbomol (something like that) for the muscle aches but I only have about 70 left.  I have to be very careful no matter what I take, I have been addicted to virtually
every substance I every used.  Alcohol, pot, speed, coke, free base, benzos (which in my opinion is comparable, if not worse, than coming off narcotics), Barbiturates, Percodan, Percoset, Demerol, Dilaudid, Morphine, Vicodin, Oxycontin, Methadone, Buprenorphine, Nicotine, Coffee, Sugar, Sudafed, cough syrup etc., etc.  My drug of choice is "What have you got?"  Any port in a storm I guess.  I feel absolutely fantastic when I am sober but something always brings me back to drugs.  It is beyond explanation to me.  It is mind boggling.  I have everything I could have every hoped for  -- beautiful wife who loves and supports me, two beautiful healthy children, great
career doing what I love, more money than I know what to do with, etc., etc.  I have it all, the "American dream," but I always go back to narcotics or some other mind altering substance.  The minute I do a narcotic it is like turning off the light switch.  I immediately lose contact with the spiritual aspect of life, that part that gives me the boost and helps me enjoy things, particularly the small things, colors, sounds, eating, working, kids, wife's, wind, water, etc.  Normal things.  I used
to love life and was overjoyed and did a lot of different things.  After I began drugs my world got smaller and smaller until all I care about is the drugs.  I have to do them just to get up out of bed and go to work.  I go through the motions but I do not get any joy or happinessout of anything when I use.  Problem is, how do you stop?  Ibogaine gave me the chance I was hoping for.  I can't believe it worked to tell you the truth.  I just did not have the strength, courage, willingness or desire to go through another detox.  I have been through too many to count.  Three treatment centers, six or seven medically assisted detoxes, the "give me a few valium and I will be fine", cold turkey approach about twenty times, unassisted clold turkey too many times to count, ultra rapid detox three times, switching to other drugs, etc.

In any event, I thought I would rebound easier and feel better from this but I feel like complete crap.  And I mean complete crap (couldn't possibly be the Soma and Carbomol I am taking by the handful).  At least I do not have that merciless obsession to use narcotices.  It is gone.  The only reason I think about it is it is because I know that it would make me feel better instantly.  Can't do it though, this is my last shot.

If anyone is in the least concerned about the Mexico option, they shouldn't be.  I mean it, the facility is first class, very upscale, safe, friendly.  The entire staff knows what they are doing and take the position that they are there to make sure your detox is as comfortable as possible.  It sure as hell beats the price I have heard for St. Kitts or a traditional resident program.  By the way, there was a guy that came my third day there who was doing it for the second time.  His first time was in St. Kitts.  He said the facility in Mexico was just as nice, if not nicer, than St. Kitts and that the food was better.  Apparently they have a tough time getting food to St. Kitts (or just ntentionally want  you to fast).  Also, I understand that St.Kitts only does the program every six weeks to two months.  You can get into the Mexican program at any time.  You go to San Diego and spend the night, they come get you the next morning and then take you back across the border after your stay is over.  I mean it, I was absolutely shocked.  I was scared to death of going to Tijuana for some weird drug treatment.  You are in a remote and wealthily suburb in an walled and gated facility.  The American program director (Nathan) picks you up in San Diego and brings you over the border and back when you are ready.  No minimum stay but I would count on four or five days.  I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I am looking for a contact in the Seattle area to administer Ibogaine to me again.  If I cannot find one I will probably go down to Mexico again next year.  I just want to make sure that this works.  I am absolutely a dead man if I get back on narcotics.  I was seriously considering suicide this last one and one half year relapse.  I do not think I would ever do it but it definitely has crossed my mind over the past year.  I didn't know any way out.  I couldn't detox normally.  It was just too painful.  I did not have the strength, courage or fortitude to do it.  Ibogaine has given me the opportunity I needed.

Now to the point of this meaningless babbling (finally!).  Am I supposed to feel this bad?  I feel like I was shot at and missed, shit at and hit.  It is a little better today but I am REALLY REALLY drug out.  What does anyone suggest?  Vitamin B 12, herbs, or what?  I know that with one narcotic I would be back to my normal self withing 3 minutes.  I am not going to do it but I know it would work the miracle.  Any advice anyone has concerning how to get thought the next few weeks -- would be appreciated.  I have an extremely busy business and I don't know if I can do it feeling like this.  Thanks.

Steve

Hello,

congrats on being craving free =)

some herbs you might want to try to make yourself more comfortable:

kava - used to treat anxiety and stres... i highly recommend it, i think
in you situation it could help you feel a good deal better. you can take
it in pills, if you do, get an standardised extract rather than the whole
root, and make sure it has a high kavalactone content (%70 is the best out
there, i think). if you're feeling adventurous, you can also make the
tradition kava drink. if you're interested in try that, you can get a
bunch of recipes off the web... one site i found is
http://www.kickbackwithkava.com/Kava_Recipies.htm

valerian root - used to treat insomnia and anxiety. this might be a
particularly good thing to get too. like kava, make sure it's a
standardised preparation. while valerian is most often used to help people
get to sleep, i've found it's also pretty effective for anxiety and body
aches.

amino acids - these are the building blocks for neurotransmitters, so
making sure you're getting enough is very important for your mood and
cognitive abilities. you can eat foods with good amino acid profiles, like
hemp and flax and such, or get multi amino acid pills. or both.

st john's wort - an herb that acts as a mild serotonin reuptake inhibitor
(don't take if you're on an antidepresant though)

tryptophan or 5-htp - tryptophan is the amino acid that serotonin is made
out of. 5-htp is an intermediate chemical that's made in the process of
turning tryptophan into serotonin. it's easier to get ahold of in the US
than tryptophan, but it isn't as effective because it doesn't cross the
blood-brain barrier very well. (also don't take if you're on an
antidepressant)

L-phenylalanine - an amino acid used by the body to make dopamine,
norepinepherine, and epinepherine (adrenalin). can be very useful, but
don't take if you're on an antidepressant, or have any other condition in
which phenylalanine or tyrosine is contraindicated (eg PKU)

california poppy - an herb used as a pain reliever and mild sedative.
usually taken as a tea.

Hey Steve,

I was going to answer your email concerning Kava,..ect, however jon
has already kindly informed you of what to take.

Just remember,......

We drug addicts are used to quick fixes,..herbs and nutrients take a
while to start working properly, although Kava and Valerian work
pretty quick.

What was the main drug you were detoxing from? Did you have a
Methadone habit this time around?

Mate,.... you need time off work. Be at home relaxing, being pampered,
getting massages, loving yourself.. To me love was/is like a drug,..it filled
/fills me.

I ate a lot of pot,..hash cake,..hash cookies,pot tea, smoked pot/hash,
ate hash and when I had no cake or cookies I would eat buds and chew
really well. As I am sure you are aware Steve,..eating pot has a different
effect than smoking,..eating is more of a body stone and lasts longer.

Eating pot helped me with sleeping and boredom in a very big way.
As did Kava Kava and Valeriun,..also Fibroplex plus by Metagenics.

Mate,..I know you probably don't have much energy however excersise
is Huuuuuuge. It will help you sleep and you will recover quicker. Also
saunas will help you sweat it out more.

Even just a walk after dinner or in the morning,..move your body.

Being in and around nature also energised me and gave me a feeling
of wellbeing.

Wow Steve,..congrats on making the leap,..now you just have to balance
for a while untill you get your footing. You are strong.

Oh yea,...sex and plenty of it. No sugar except for fruit and eat well,..things
that are easy to digest. Heaps of water,..I mean heaps and heaps.

All this is in my humble opinion,..oh yea,..Oscar Goldman is asking about you.

You go Bro.

                                                               with love,
                                                                 Jasen.

Hi Steven
Yes..It is amazing that the cravings, the relief, the immediate fix is somehow not overwhelmingly compelling as in the Pre Ibo lifetime BUT...As you are learning it is no magic feel good pill as far as getting the brain firing on all cylinders again. Your brain is reset sure but it is not as it was before a caught a habit it will take Time  that is Time with a capital Tee.
It puts you a long long way ahead of the curve as far as any other detox as i am sure you see.
I heard that it would be 3 -5 weeks till i felt better and didn't really believe it ,as i felt so so bad post treatment and at 5 weeks i still felt like  raw ,but if not every day every few days was definatly BETTER.
I used Ibogaine to get rid of a 10 year 50mg a day Methadone habit which was preceded by a ten year on and off (mostly on) heroin/cocaine run. It took me a good two months to feel anywhere decent or normal but that NorIbogaine," the Ibo glow" was there pushing me through...
It has now been around 5 months and it is really only the last month or so i really feel good and even now it is not every day or all day but i have moments where I feel really amazing pain free  dope free methadone free it still blows my mind.
Today for example all day I felt really good ( i am an electrician on new  construction projects ) very energetic feeling happy but on the way home on the bus i started feeling achy in the lower back and just a bit icky in a way i am all too familiar with. Go figure....

Hang tough, ride this time out I was able to take a lot of time and i think i needed every bit so don't rush things if you can.
Someone mentioned the Mindvox sight and yes yes yes read it.I especially took some comfort in reading Patrick's Keep clean articles he was the first person I heard say that it will take 6 mos maybe more to get the brain back on track the 3- 5 weeks just wasn't true for me so reading that gave me a lot of hope. Maybe 3-5 weeks for a young short term heroin habit patient but not long term guys like you and i and so many others here.
any way feel free to contact me  if you need to and
 Freak Freely
 You are an Ibonaut!

Ditto on the congradulations and other suggestions. I know, YUCK! Give it a few days and you will snap out of (most of) it.  Drink fluids, eat HEALTHY food (no junk, soda, cand, cold-cuts...) fruits, veggies, any generic "detox tea" findable at a health food store, Vitamins help, B-Complex, phenylalanine shorten the recovery.. Part of it is how "toxic" you are/were, if I took ibo now my recovery would be much shorter. If you get cravings you msy want to try "Rescue Remedy" (Bache flower remedies.available at any health-food store, great for kids and cats too..), and um (and this sounds silly) but think about/do something else - really if you can master that 1 thing, you got it.. Indra/extracts tend to take a bit longer to recover from. And move a bit, but then not too fast or too muc, staying still is often more comfortable for several days, oozyness is most often early in the AM and at dusk, trails at night can last days, weeks even months (though an artifact by  then), it can take several weeks to sleep normally - for myself I don't care for "meds" post session, but some people/sometimes a little benzo helps (ie valium) - you may consider that better than something else... just easy with the meds. Do what you can safely do/need  and don't do what you can't, smoking "somethng" is an option for some people, other people can't (and think you shouldn't also...).

Be well,
Brett

A freind will be taking ibogaine, she is on methadone and also on

Desyrel (325mg) and Xanasx (4mg)

Is it needed to stop using both of these before doing ibogaine or can she keep taking her prescriptions?

thanks to everyone

Subject:        Re: [Ibogaine] desyrel and xanax during ibogaine?

Someone else will have to comment on Desyrel.  On
Xanan/benzo's though, I would keep them near by and
available for use during the session.
Almost everyone will disagree with me on this but I
think Tamazepam (benzo for insomnia) is a very
resonable idea after Ibogaine.  30-90mg ONCE every 3-4
days for 4 weeks.  Daily intake of benzo's, well for
me personally, I know better.

My opinion w/ benzo's and ibo is ibo won't do that
really neat trick it does with opiates with benzo's
from what I can tell.  However, Ibo isn't worthless
against benzo's because they provide Hope,
Encouragement, a new shiney paradigm, inner drive, a
positive "yes I CANnibus" attitude, etc...  So it
won't do "it" for the person of course, but I think it
would help.
My impression, please correct me if I'm wrong, is
benzo's are ok to take during the session, but most
people discourage their use.  Unlike using methadone
during Ibo which isn't an opinion, but rather just a
really bad idea.  I'd even go more conservative and
say no methadone for 24-48hours before Ibogaine.  Good
Luck and it would be cool to see how it goes for your
friend.  What kind of expectations are they bringing
to the Ibogaine dose I wonder.... did your friend do
those really neat medical scans I keep hearing about??

Good Luck =)

Hi ,

We are talking about two different products and two different ways of
servings.
Please don't mix it up. Iboga total extract has more alkaloids then one
And I work with medicinal use of Cannabis, which also work on the benzo
Withdrawals. So it is a combination of things that I'm using, not  just a
single dose of Ibogaine. Stopping in one time  with benzo can cause a panic
attack.

but if you want to take ibogaine for Methadone habit,
you have to wait until you are sick of the withdrawals, really showing
the withdrawals and that can take sometimes three days after the last dose
of methadone. Waiting 24 hours is not long enough most of the times.
If the medication should be taken with food then you have a problem,
You must think about vomiting while taking Ibogaine eating and your
medication.

You must think that the medication is not liver friendly and
The liver will work hard while detox. as well as the kidneys.
It will not be easy for the body and the body will need more
Supplements to support the liver.

Subject:        [Ibogaine]   Comparing  Ibogaine  and Ayahuasca

I was wondering if there was any one on this list that has experienced both  Ibogaine  and Ayahuasca .......I was wondering what was in your experience the differences between the 2 on your consciousness and spirit....
When I say Ayahuasca I mean the real McCoy.The puking until your green Jungle brew, not the Ayahuasca lite you can buy on the internet....

I was wondering which one you found to be a better teacher?Or did you find them too different to compare..

From what I have read it seems to me that some people  think a big difference between the 2 is that Ibogaines teachings go on for weeks and months where the Ayahuasca experience is over much more quickly.....

I am really wondering about this...Thanks Kyle

From:     slowone@...
Subject:        Re: [Ibogaine]   Comparing  Ibogaine  and Ayahuasca

For pure psychological work, I find ayahuasca in a Brasilian church
more useful in growing a new life than iboga. Iboga is good for
showing problems, breaking obsessive patterns, and inspiring the
desire to change. In small doses it can also help work on issues.
Possibly in a suitable context like a church iboga could help more,
but I found larger doses to be overwhelming and physically taxing.
The dosage of ayahuasca in our church is low enough so that
experienced people can remain active.

Ayahuasca tends to leave me energised rather than weak the next
day. I think of iboga as teaching for months afterwards if you can
stop and listen for its messages. Ayahuasca is more subtle in that
way, and it seems more appropriate to do it regularly. I believe
that an ayahuasca group could be an ideal post-iboga context for
people looking to consolidate their iboga lessons over time.

The social context of iboga ingestion is much overlooked in the
'internet' approach to ibogaine, perhaps because many have been
traumatised by society and thus automatically seek solitary
'internal' solutions to pain. However I believe that the social
nature of our species requires us to build a sort of life that many
of us might consider mundanely trite in order to achieve stability.

Iboga seemed to be about looking at damage and pain, ayahuasca
about being in the present and building a new life.
