http://www.irfanview.com  - IrfanView is a free image editor
that is useful for adapting these flyers and banners for
your needs. Download the full-size gif images since they use
far fewer kilobytes compared to the 640x480 and 800x600 jpg
versions of the same image. JPG image files are mainly for
photos and images with lots of color gradation. GIF image
files are much better for flyers and banners. IrfanView can
easily edit, reduce, or enlarge gif and jpg images.

*****!!!Global Marijuana March--May 7, 2005:  Updates,  Reports!!!*****

From: farid@...

Dear UK friends,
Well I'd like to see more towns listed for the global march for Cannabis liberation : from my point of view, if in 2005 there are general elections in UK, and a "pot party" for decriminalisation of cannabis, then, all your local committees that are running election race should be linked and listed to the list of local events supported worldwide a mass and global demonstration. Then, if you only count on a big gathering in London (like it was in 1999 when I participated), it's up to you, but then I'll understand why politicians are so reluctant to go forward, then WE REALLY NEED a DRUG USERS MOVEMENT THAT IS NOT ONLY URBANISTIC, BUT CAN ALSO MAKE THE LINK WITH RURAL AREAS.
Then the Global March for Cannabis Liberation, in MAY 7th, is the genuine appropriate time and initiative for a cross and non dogmatic rally of conscious peoples from parents to young kids.

Let's join all efforts to make known and identified our movement for legal regulation of drugs market.

Please join you on the Cannabis Worldwide Demo, May 7th by sending an e mail to <dana@...>
All the best,
FARId

CANADA POISED TO BACK CANNABIS PAINKILLER

Canada is poised to become the first country to endorse a cannabis-based
medicine after issuing final terms for the approval of a painkiller for
multiple sclerosis patients.

GW Pharmaceuticals said that it was poised to receive approval for its
Sativex drug next year after receiving outline support from Health Canada,
the country's healthcare regulator.

Health Canada has issued a qualifying notice for Sativex, setting out terms
on matters such as marketing, after which endorsement is considered a
formality.

"Under the Canadian system, full approval should be relatively
straightforward from here," Jon Senior, the Evolution analyst, said.

Full consent would make Sativex, which is derived from thousands of
marijuana plants grown at a secret location in England, the first
cannabis-based medicine approved for prescription, GW said.

"This approval will be a major milestone for GW and for people with
multiple sclerosis who have long awaited a prescription cannabis-based
medicine for the treatment of neuropathic pain," Dr Geoffrey Guy, the GW
chairman, said.

He also praised the speed of the Canadian regulators, who have endorsed
Sativex in seven months.

"We are grateful to them for this rapid turnaround time," Dr Guy said.

"Health Canada in their review reflects a welcome recognition of the
clinical need in MS patients for Sativex."

The comments come amid a prolonged drive by GW to win UK approval for
Sativex, which was first submitted to British authorities in March last year.

The Committee on Safety of Medicines earlier this month said that further
study was needed to confirm that the drug was sufficiently beneficial for
patients, meaning that Sativex will not be launched in Britain for at least
six months.

GW shares surged 10 per cent to 116p in early trade before dropping back to
114p, up 9p on the day.

Court rules probation drug tests unconstitutional
VANCOUVER - B.C.'s highest court has ruled that people on probation shouldn't
be forced to submit to drug testing. The court says the tests - a common probation
condition - are unconstitutional. The B.C. Court of Appeal was hearing the
case of a man facing such an order. In a 2-1 decision, the court ruled those tests
are unconsitutional. It's common for people on probation to have urinalysis,
blood, and breathalyzer test requirements. The court found the tests can be
given arbitrarily, and there are no laws in place to protect the man's
privacy.

The John Howard Society's Tim Varesh says the decision could mean more people
on probation could end up being sent back to jail. "If someone is suspected of
being under the influence, you'll likely see probation officers and parole
officers err on the side of caution if they are unable to confirm their
assumptions through urinalysis."
B.C.'s Criminal Justice Branch is reviewing the decision, but hasn't decided
if it will appeal. Crown prosecutors are already being told not to ask for drug
and alcohol tests to be included in probation requirements. In its conclusion, the
court found striking down the commonly used conditions may make it difficult
to enforce orders keeping people off drugs and alcohol. But the court says it's
up to Parliament to address a gap in legislation.

Many Veterans are the "Enemy" of the Bush D.E.A.th War

Sam Stone came home, To his wife and family After serving in the
conflict overseas.
And the time that he served, Had shattered all his nerves, And left a
little shrapnel in his knee.  But the morphine eased the pain, And the
grass grew round his brain, And gave him all the confidence he lacked,
With a Purple Heart and a monkey on his back. There's a hole in
daddy's arm where all the money goes, Jesus Christ died for nothin' I
suppose. Little pitchers have big ears, Don't stop to count the years,
Sweet songs never last too long on broken radios. Mmm....

Sam Stone's welcome home Didn't last too long. He went to work when
he'd spent his last dime And Sammy took to stealing When he got that
empty feeling For a hundred dollar habit without overtime. And the
gold rolled through his veins Like a thousand railroad trains, And
eased his mind in the hours that he chose, While the kids ran around
wearin' other peoples' clothes...

Sam Stone was alone When he popped his last balloon Climbing walls
while sitting in a chair Well, he played his last request While the
room smelled just like D.E.A.th With an overdose hovering in the air
But life had lost its fun And there was nothing to be done But trade
his house that he bought on the G. I. Bill For a flag draped casket on
a local heroes' hill... There's a hole in daddy's arm where all the
money goes, Jesus Christ died for nothin' I suppose. Little pitchers
have big ears, Don't stop to count the years, Sweet songs never last
too long on broken radios. Mmm....

Homeless Vets Already Overload Safety Net

The Homeless Vet by Gary Jacobson

In acrimonious harmony outside my cardboard box
Late again for appointment to detox
Misfortune and calamity my pox
The crickets singing seems so monotonous
Throbbing in these times barbarous
Forlornly disingenuous.

They sing to an ambiguous apparition lying there
Still with far away gaze in a thousand yard stare
Far across the sea...back there
To an Asian neverland's nowhere
As people pass on nearby streets without a care
Life, food, drink...home, no longer simple fare.

System Struggles With Volume of Down-and-Out Vets --
and There May Be Another Generation Coming

Nov. 13, 2004 - "Are they or aren't they really veterans?"
is a question often asked when encountering a homeless person claiming
to be a vet.

There's a good chance they are.

Soldiers Learn to Deal With PTSD

"There is plenty of evidence to show that one-third of [homeless
males] are veterans," says John Baskerville of Swords to Plowshares, a
non-profit veterans support group in the San Francisco Bay area.

`Get Me Off the Street'

Nearly half of the homeless vets are from the Vietnam era. Eighty
percent of them have substance abuse problems.

"I drink," says Richard Smith, a Navy vet. "I'm an Irishman. I drink
heavily."

And 45 percent of them are mentally ill and unlikely to get off the
streets without treatment.

Brian Roth, a Marine veteran, says he has been hopelessly addicted to
drugs since he came back from Vietnam in 1969, and has never had a
home of his own.

"Just get me off the street," Roth says. "I'm tired. Š I'm 55 years
old.

"I'm sleeping with a guy in his van right now," he adds.

According to his records and relatives we spoke with, Roth went to
college after his military service and even completed medical school
at Michigan State before he started getting arrested for writing
illegal prescriptions.

"I know I smell like a skunk and look like one," he says. "But for a
year I've been trying to get into a program, and I will stay there if
they just make it available." continued...

Homeless Iraq vets showing up at shelters By Mark Benjamin
Washington, DC, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. veterans from the war in Iraq are
beginning to show up at homeless shelters around the country, and
advocates fear they are the leading edge of a new generation of
homeless vets not seen since the Vietnam era.

"When we already have people from Iraq on the streets, my God," said
Linda Boone, executive director of the National Coalition for Homeless
Veterans. "I have talked to enough (shelters) to know we are getting
them. It is happening and this nation is not prepared for that."

"I drove off in my truck. I packed my stuff. I lived out of my truck
for a while," Seabees Petty Officer Luis Arellano, 34, said in a
telephone interview from a homeless shelter near March Air Force Base
in California run by U.S.VETS, the largest organization in the country
dedicated to helping homeless veterans.

Arellano said he lived out of his truck on and off for three months
after returning from Iraq in September 2003. "One day you have a home
and the next day you are on the streets," he said.

In Iraq, shrapnel nearly severed his left thumb. He still has trouble
moving it and shrapnel "still comes out once in a while," Arellano
said. He is left handed.

Arellano said he felt pushed out of the military too quickly after
getting back from Iraq without medical attention he needed for his
hand -- and as he would later learn, his mind. continued...

Investigative Journalist,
"Dark Alliance" Author Gary Webb Dead at Age 49
http://stopthedrugwar.org/chronicle/367/garywebb.shtml

Phillip S. Smith, Writer/Editor, psmith@..., 12/17/04

Gary Webb, the prize-winning former San Jose Mercury News
investigative reporter whose series on the "dark alliance" between the
CIA and Nicaraguan Contras to import cocaine into the US in the early
1980s ignited a firestorm of controversy, died December 10 an apparent
suicide. He was found in his suburban Sacramento home suffering from a
gunshot wound to the head. A note accompanied his body, but its
contents have not been disclosed.

http://stopthedrugwar.org/chronicle/367/garywebb.jpg

While Webb was most notorious for the "Dark Alliance" series, which he
turned into a 548-page book of the same name, he was a reporter whose
interest in drug policy both preceded and extended    Gary Webb beyond
the murky world of Reagan-era drugs and guns in Central America. In
1993, while at the in Mérida Mercury News, Webb penned an
investigative series on asset forfeiture abuse, "The Forfeiture
Racket," which is credited with helping to undo California's
forfeiture law. The series, which appeared as the state legislature
was confronting the issue, documented widespread abuses and helped
turn public opinion against asset forfeiture. The result was a new
forfeiture law that required a criminal conviction before property
could be forfeited.

But it was "Dark Alliance" that both made Webb's name and ruined his
career. While links between Nicaraguan counterrevolutionaries who
helped finance their war through the cocaine traffic and the CIA had
been made previously, Webb's investigative series and subsequent book
took it to a new level, arguing that the conspiracy between the CIA
and the Contras was directly tied to the crack cocaine explosion of
the early 1980s in Los Angeles. The series exploded on the national
media-scape like a roadside bomb and led to surreal scenes like that
in Los Angeles in the fall of 1996 when the head of the CIA was loudly
booed and jeered at a crowded public meeting where attendees held his
agency responsible for the crack epidemic.

But "Dark Alliance" quickly came under attack from the largest
newspapers in the country -- all of which had failed miserably in
reporting the connections between the CIA, the Contras, and the
cocaine traffic. The Washington Post, the New York Times, and the Los
Angeles Times all attacked Webb's conclusions, and his own paper
eventually turned on him. Within a few months of publishing "Dark
Alliance," the Mercury News stepped back from its conclusions and took
Webb off the story. He resigned rather than accept a humiliating
transfer to a state politics beat.

While there were errors in some of the particulars in the series and
subsequent book, its broad conclusions have withstood the test of
time. That the Reagan administration at best turned a blind eye to
drug running by
its Central American proxy armies is now well-documented and
uncontroversial. That some of the cocaine trafficked by the Contras
ended up in the hands of pioneering LA crack entrepreneur "Freeway
Ricky" Ross is
also undeniable.

But Webb suffered as much from the enthusiasm of his supporters as the
slings and arrows of his foes. Some readers were all too eager to
loudly cry "genocide" and to turn his carefully documented findings
into the stuff of conspiracy theories, making it all the easier to
discredit Webb for the ravings of his most extreme followers.

Despite having won more than 30 journalism awards in his career, Webb
was effectively marginalized as a mainstream journalist after "Dark
Alliance." He found work in the California state assembly until he was
laid off after the November elections and had taken a new position
with a California political publication, the Sacramento News and
Review. But even while at the legislature, Webb returned to reporting
on aspects of the drug war. In 1999, he penned a report accusing the
California Highway Patrol of unofficially condoning racial profiling,
but that report, too, was attacked by its targets.

In 2002, Webb attended the DRCNet-sponsored Out from the Shadows drug
legalization conference in Mérida, Mexico, where he signaled his
continuing interest in reporting on drug issues by participating in
the Narco News School of Authentic Journalism and agreeing to for a
time take the helm of the organization itself. But that agreement
proved to be abortive, and Webb soon returned to California and the
state legislature.

"All he ever wanted to do was write," Webb's ex-wife, Susan Bell, told
the Mercury News this week. "He never really recovered from it," she
said, referring to the "Dark Alliance" controversy.

"The guy had a fierce commitment to justice and truth. He cared deeply
about the people who are forgotten, that we try to shove into the dark
recesses of our minds and world," said Tom Dresslar, a spokesman for
the
California attorney general's office who worked with Webb.

On a personal note, I met Gary Webb when he spoke at the Washington,
DC, bookstore where I worked as part of his "Dark Alliance" book tour.
Even with his mainstream journalism career in tatters, Webb radiated
conviction and confidence, along with a keen intellect and a quiet,
friendly persona. We had a chance to speak briefly. I encouraged him
to continue to seek the truth and expose it to the world. He said he
would. And now he is dead by his own hand.

The world can be a tough and lonely place for those who dare to
challenge the powers that be. Gary Webb found out the hard way, but he
kept on struggling until he could take it no more. -- END --

Hung Out to Dry: How Webb's Series Died
studioron@... 16 Dec 2004
In 1997, editors at the San Jose Mercury News pulled the rug out from
under reporter Gary Webb and his investigation of the Reagan-Bush
contra-cocaine scandal, a decision that contributed eight years later
to Webb's suicide. To give readers a fuller understanding of that
journalistic betrayal, we are republishing an account written in 1997
by Georg Hodel, a reporter who was collaborating with Webb on his
historic series.

GARY WEBB - "Dark Alliance" - TRT 60 min.
BTV032

Journalist Gary Webb broke the story of the CIA-crack connection in a
series of articles for the San Jose Mercury News. The articles were
quickly attacked by the rest of the corporate media, the Mercury News
chickened out and Gary Webb was fired. Luckily, the entire story is
collected in this book. A precise and informative talk.  Dark Alliance
charts the work that began in a stunning series of 1996 articles for
The San Jose Mercury News. Gary Webb won the Pulitzer Prize in 1989
for his series on the Loma Prieta earthquake, and applied the same
tenacity to his investigation of the crack cocaine epidemic, charting
its progress through an international drug ring with ties to the CIA
and the Nicaraguan Contras. A story that should be fiction but is not,
Dark Alliance draws from previously unreleased information so
explosive that The San Jose Mercury News refused to publish it.

A PRAYER FOR GARY WEBB

Gary, we gather in our hearts to say farewell
and to tell you how grateful we are for your presence in our lives.
Your courage and your talent helped us to face America's shadow.
Like the Buddha who taught us that the lotus blossoms out of the mud,
your work birthed a living network -- Mike Ruppert, Cele Castillo,
Kelly O'Meara, Al Giordano, Preston Peet, Linda Minor, Alastair
Thompson, Kyle Hence, Ian Inaba, Tom Flocco, Sam Smith and many more -- a new generation of leaders dedicated to coming clean
and rising in the divine power of illumination you inspired.
Gary, my prayers are with you and your family.
I carry in my heart the signature of your honor and
I invoke the words of Chief Seattle who wisely reminded us
that "the dead are not powerless."
Gary, go in peace
with our love,
with our thanks, and

then I hit a second car writing it and my car off, luckily not a scratch on any one.

Jasen, it's good to hear your OK so now I can joke. See, yall drive on the wrong side of da road. Do the clocks go the other way too? Dude I was pretty tired most of the time for about 6 weeks. I almost did the same thing coming back from NYC after leaving Preston's release party and had to pull over and pay 5 bucks for a cup of Joe and a donut. I was so sensitive to stimuli that I couldn't sleep for 6 more hours after I got home. I hope you can skate without having much problem with insurance. I still cannot believe it.
Normally I am fully insured, did not pay it before going to Holand,
thought ohh, I'll just pay it when I get back.

It still blows me out that I hurt no-one.I don't understand it I was wide awake,
I mean sh*t I find it hard to sleep. It was like someone just turned me off for 10 seconds.
I woke up after hitting one car,and saw all these cars comming at me swerving, then I hit
one whilst trying to swerve in and out, rode one off, rode my car off,and side swiped another.

When the police came, they said are you on any medication, and hey guess what,..I could say
no.Thet said do you use drugs,Hey,....No, wow.

I can seriously suggest that when people have Iboga/Ibogaine,that you dont drive for at least 6 weeks.

I keep getting pushed,..tested, fu*k,....I am just going to deal with it straight.
There is a silver lining somewhere.

The white dog inside me is still fighting with the black dog,and it is a vicious fight, they won't let me sleep(except when I am driving)
I am feeding the white dog good food, the black dog is weakening,he is a savage son af a b*tch,I will not feed him.

I want to cry for my car,... and laugh for new life.
This is my last test.
I am succedingI am strong.

It was close,I felt as if I was held in some way,it was a pretty bad accident
and I jumped out like I had just parked the car.Funny enough, after the accident
I was still calm and, ....the same,it was almost like it did not happen,it was surreal.

I knew how big this was, I knew I had not paid my premium, I'd
be paying this off, funny enough, it wasn't reacting with me, it was like
me being opiate free was that/is that huge, that it didn't matter.

Doesn't matter, are you kidding, how am I gonna pay for all this.

It was like I was being assured this was for the best.It didn't matter in the big picture.
You will be good.

People feel me differently

It's like when the opiate is out of your body you give out a different vibe,
people are more responsive,I am tuning into real life,..and you know what ,..
it is really exciting,I cry with happiness and thanks even after such an accident.

Everything around me is saying,"hey, where have you been, welcome back."

I can not say I have heard of Brian from Prague, he sounds great.
If you are in England and you can't get Brian, then Saras is not much more,
and it is an hour flight.

Of the subject,I used to have great long hair which I cut 6 months ago,
thinking that I would be fitting into society better,...What a D*ck.

I want my long hair back, just to give you an idea of how many things the Iboga/Ibogaine

It will grow again.Hey,...It's growing right now.

Donna, I would get the tests done on my own anyway if I were you and maybe someone here will help you read them. I'm not familiar with this guys treatment method but I don't think you will have to lay still for 15 or 16 hours. The first few hours are the worst for the motion sickness. Everyone is a little different but believe me you won't worry about it. Lay back and enjoy the view, it was beautiful for me. Don't eat for at least 12 hours and drink lots of water for a few days before. Have you ever had any heart problems and is there a history of heart problems in your family? Hi Donna,

Brian is Brian Mariano from Prague. He has a website http://www.ibogainetreatment.net/ and also some treatment notes online at http://www.ibogaine.co.uk/brian.htm He's a nice guy. Yes, you should definitely get your body checked out before taking ibogaine. Heart and liver function must get done. The drug can be pretty strong on the body and it's good to know you're in good enough shape to take it. You might be able to get them done on the NHS, if you have a nice GP or someone at a local drug treatment place he/she can arrange it with a hospital. Otherwise you'll have to make up a good story for the hospital or get them done private.

As more and more people are treated with ibogaine a greater diversity of
effects will be seen.  This is normal to all drugs.

Ibogaine Consent Forms should be changed to include a paragraph on operating
machinery or automobiles similar to the warning on package inserts for
sedatives, hypnotics or narcotics.  I haven't reviewed warning for antidepressants
and other psychoactive drugs but, will do so as soon as I get a chance. Suggest
ibogaine providers do the same.

That being said, we have two distinct descriptions of auto accidents.  One
involves reflexes and the other involves either falling asleep or losing
consciousness.

I would appreciate it if both Jasen and fakeplacebo would give as detailed a
description as possible of the effects they experienced that caused the
accidents.  Please be as detailed as possible.  In Jasen's case has this ever happen

I have seen data suggesting that immediately post IBO, Viral loads for Hep C and HIV go up slightly for a very short time. With in a month, there is a (anecdotal) 25-35% drop in hep -c viral loads. Is this the IBO or is it just so simple that not doing dope is healthier on the liver?

I do not believe IBO has any direct effect on T cell immunity (Viruses like HIV and Hep C). It appears that as we start to get clean eat and drink water, immunity gets better and that is reflected in the improved labs.

You cannot follow hep c severity by following liver functions. They just don't corollate. You need ultra sensitive viral loads and they are expensive. Many people say "my virus is gone" cause their doc said it was now undetectable on the lab test. Well, the truth is it never goes away EVER. Most viral loads don't measure below a certain level. Any HIV or hep patient should ask there doc for an ultra sensitive viral load by DNA or PCR with no minimum or maximum cutoffs.

Hey Howard,
I was driving along, wide awake, maybe three minutes from home,
then simply woke up on the other side of the road hitting cars,it was crazy,
it was sort of shocking,..and almost....I dare say,fun in a way, pretty morbid ay,
it was as if I knew I had to go through this, whilst it was happening. The time between
being fully alert and hitting other cars was maybe 5 seconds.

I was really ok with it,I knew the severity of it,losing my little truck,my beach baby,
Gee,.. missing the beach already, hitting the other cars, inconveniencing people,it was weird,
like I was being told this is nothing compared to the big picture.

Sara did warn me when I wanted to drive her car.
Howard,..I was tired but not sleepy,my body was tired and my mind alert,it was like I was
turned off for 5 seconds, like I needed the big wack,corny,..yes a little, but that is just
how it was, everything was so smooth,I can't find the words. In the back of my mind,..far back,
I am thinking ,..she*t,I don't have a car now I have to pay off the other cars, but I am ok with it,
it doesn't matter my being says, everything is smooth.

I have not experienced a micro sleep in a car before.
When I was at Sara's,I was talking to this great girl called Zoe
then all of a sudden she laughs, I look at her confused, she said,"you just went into a deep sleep,
then woke up and started talking again,I had no memory of the sleep.
I am more than happy to answer any other questions Howard.

I do not need a crutch anymore the weight has been lifted.

How long has it been for you Jeff and when did you start feeling better?
It is day 33 for me,still weak but swimming in the mornings for 25 mins(all I can handle)
Life is wonderful. I can still feel the extraction of the methadone, still being grounded.

. Peace Corps: $277 million

When the sea tides start to rise over the land and the first nukes are dropped, we wont have to look far to understand why.

I remember growing up fearing nuclear war and the relief that came from all the treaties that were made to limit arms. Now we live in a nuclear free for all.
I wonder what kind of group spirit drives people like Bush, Cheney & Rumsfeld? Where does this spirit come from? That I think is an interesting question.
Whatever it is its clearly psychotic as they are now talking in the background of regime change in Iran and possible Syria. This I find insane given that the best they can hope for in Iraq is not to lose and even then there will be a very high maintenance.
The IRA fought the British government for 30 years and ended in a truce. That was all of the might of the British army concentrated in an area of maybe 6,000 sq miles. The no's of IRA were small - a couple of hundred. Yet, they could not wipe them out.
The middle east on the other hand is filled with people who think of death as a reward and is humungous compared to Northern Ireland.
The Palestinians are living in an equally small plot of land and the might of the Israeli army - perhaps the best equipped, outside the US, in the world, has failed to make any significant progress after 50 years of struggle.

It takes a major tragedy to end major madness.

The planet is dying and billions are starving. I would really like to know where in the bible George Bush found his inspiration to follow his deeply held Christian views and pursue this path he is now on?

Obviously there is something lacking from my Christian training. Do you think if I pray hard enough to Jesus he will inspire me to start a war too?

If and when He comes he comes for everyone, sinners and (if there is such a thing)Non sinners.
He takes no one to hell,He makes no judgment. He see's who we truly are,..all of us.
The decision to go with him is within us.The choice is ours, free will.

No I am not religious,but I believe in the way,the Buddha,Krishna,Baha'u'lla'h Muhammad,Jesus
and many other masters that have walked the earth.
Masters that Knew who they truly were.Who knew they were one with all,who could see who we all were.

In my opinion we are all beings from another realm, pretending to be human.Humans...Being.
We are here to experience what we know to be conceptually true.

I have seen people jump from planes, however I would like to feel it myself, knowing is not enough.

Why would a father throw his child into ever lasting fire, could any father do such a thing.
What is their to gain.

My experience with the Iboga was that the ego falls away into a black abyss, and you return to the loving
bright wondrous light, turn and face the light, have no fear,
I was smeltered with love and light, like I was cleansed so I could return to the whole, like purifying gold.

There was no judgment, simply what do you wish to experience now my beautiful child.
You can do anything you choose, remember who you are.
I experienced being pure love, when my mouth opened love and light just poured out,it was pure bliss.
I was connected to the whole,I could experience whatever I chose,I had a roulet wheel of people to experience.

Guess who I chose?I do not have the words to describe the love, the feeling of even more than love, like there
was something even bigger.(what can be bigger and more powerful than love)It was like breathing steam onto a mirror
Hhoooooooh except it was love, light and more I do not yet understand coming from my mouth,I am getting goose bumps.
It was bigger and more wondorous than anything I could have ever imagined.

They say when you take Iboga/Ibogaine you experience what it is like when you leave this plain.YES.

I always felt that we never die,we just go home, now I know it with every fibre of my being,
as I was shown.

What is the definition of anointed :
The act of anointing was significant of consecration to a holy or sacred

Subject:   Re: [Ibogaine] belief systems: Heaven & Hell  - att Jasen

Hi Jasen,

Forgive me for saying this (100% respect intended) but I am sorry, I dont think it is that simple.

In my experience we live from life to life and traumas from earliers life's can be stored in the soul. I think a lot of the work with ibogaine/eboga is actually healing of the soul. This means that the soul can be in different states and if for example, a soul is deeply afflicted, the loss of the ego does not in itself remove the affliction.

Your experience of the ego dropping away and entering into a blissful union is imo in the words of the myth of the Holy Grail, a first taste of the Holy Grail cup. The first taste comes free. The next comes at a price. With eboga I have found it can selectively suppress the awareness of trauma etc to focus that person onto a specific experience (for a learning to be gained) and in your case I would say it gave you a blissful experience by such a mechanism to show you what can be.

I cannot and will not comment on the state of your soul but i suspect that there is a reason why you became drawn to dope etc in the first place and I think it is fair to say that those reasons will rise up and challenge you in the months that come. Those initial reasons will also have spawned secondary issues. There are different ways you can deal with those issues. Another post...

Hence if a given soul is suffering at different levels, it cannot imo then walk into the union of bliss etc post death as it is incapable of experiencing the whole as it is not itself whole. It has to be healed and made whole.

In my opinion this is all about growing the soul and learning the lessons for the soul to mature and find its place among the transcended who exist and are conscient beings on another level imo.

You say we all go to "Heaven." Is it that easy? Not really. There are rewards for those who chose the light and work to overcome the dark that plagues them and who learn their lessons. If one poisons ones own soul from life to life rather than do the work and move towards the light of the common good, then there is no heaven that that soul is capable of experiencing. It actomatically creates its own hell of seperation. And I do believe there comes a point where there is no turning back.

There is such a thing as free will and through free will we chose our own heaven or hell. Free will would be pointless if there were no consequences.

Losing the ego is not the end of the story imo.

Love & Light,

Lee

"terrorists" got your son on drugs?  I realize I am paraphrasing somewhat but, any
further explanation would be appreciated. Thanks

Marty's addiction is Oxycontin, but he uses Methadone to counter it.  The problem is that the clinic is hard to get into, and is a long way off.  right now, he's working all day just to buy his Methadone off the street. I feel like his real problem is depression.  He knows about Ibogaine, but don't believe it will help. Faith

I refuse to even write her name, that name that's perfect for a Bush
supporter, but you know who I mean I'm sure, but in my opinion she is
one of those disgusting (to my way to looking at life anyway) people
who think killing and bombing other people will bring them and those
they care about peace. She is exactly the reason, she and her ilk,
that there is so much suffering, hate and fear on this planet.

OK, I don't post much to this list anymore, and this is OT, but what the
heck ...

You know, I think that this is the wrong way to look at the problem. The
US is usually ripe for some sort of whoop-ass, stumbling cowboy. That's
somewhere deep in the cultural spirit of this country. I don't see much
point in blaming people who are caught up in that culture, although
they must live with their own decisions.

A big part of the reason that people in the US are so at each others
throats right now, politically speaking, is because of this insipid
"culture war" that's been brewing at the edges of cultural conservatism
for many years, and it's the same sort of thing that supposedly
enlightened liberals did to conservatives back in the '70s and '90s.
Each side portrays itself as the victim of the others' culture, and to
some extent, there is some truth to their complaints (although it's
ironic how cultural conservatives could play the victim card so much
recently, when they spent most of the '90s decrying victimhood), but it
wouldn't be so if people just left each other alone. This is the
premise that each side presents, that people just want to be left in
peace, but the end result is the imposition of that culture on another,
and it usually doesn't work. That sort of divisiveness can't really be
solved by politics, despite the fact that politicians typically use
these as wedge issues to divide people for ulterior motives - do you
*really* think Karl Rove cares about Jerry Falwell's wishes, above and
beyond what will get people to send his guy campaign checks and to back
his guy in the voting booth? But what need is practical solutions for
our common problems, not triumphs of one culture over another, creating
entrenched Hatfield-and-McCoy feuds that drag on forever. I honestly do
believe that the flames ignited from these cultural clashes are fanned
by those who would benefit by the status quo remaining the same, or by
diverting attention away from the real problems, a Hegelian dialectic.
Framing the debate in terms of how wrong someone is for believing in
something is not only not going to change anyone's mind, but it will
only serve to further this divide. I'm not saying the conservative
culture doesn't do it as well, but, you know, it's your choice whether
you want to get caught up in that game.

Subject:        Re: [Ibogaine]Nicotine addiction/Chemical Dependence/Healing & ibogaine - Att. Frances

Hi Frances,

I was just thinking that maybe I have not been clear on the question of nicotine in my post.

Some time ago I posted a question to the group on the question of nicotine addiction and what doses where being used but I did not get a response. I guess the truth is very few are willing to subject themselves to a full ibogaine session for nicotine addiction as it is not viewed as a stimatized or debilitating addiction yet, and ibogaine/eboga is a radical solution.

So I want to restate what I wrote on nicotine addiction based on purely subjective observations.

In my own case what usually has been the pattern is that i have moved from issue to issue and at times I have been consumed by pain or by deep need and in those times I have often relapsed onto cigarettes. And like a viscous circle of addiction I keep smoking and smoking and smoking. Its as if the nicotine hits a certain nuero pathway that keeps begging for more. It cuts right into my pain and my need for gratification. Not unlike most addictions I imagine. In the beginning I smoke a few and then some switch seems to be hit and off I go like a chimney. The first thought in my mind is a cigarette when I wake up. Yet, the smoking makes things worse and I begin to feel pained and my body agitated and sore. I feel chemically poisoned...

(Luckily for me I don't have this reaction to alcohol because in the past I did try to numb myself with alcohol and it only made me feel worse as if it opened up the feelings rather than shut them down. So I have been lucky as I have always been completely firm against any other form of drug taking except where therapeutic benefits are proven. Unfortunately I started smoking before it was established to be acutely dangerous - as a young boy.)

...Then I have a mini-session (6mg/kg) and I go into the session on 2 levels. One to clean up the chemical dependence and the other to resolve the pain that caused it. I usually succeed on both counts.

What happens is that the ego feeling bruised and battered and weakened allows eboga to do its work and I will enter into the contents of one particular issue or other. As an aside to all that I come out of the mini session with no need to smoke (more or less) and a feeling of my body being completely clean, i.e., it takes away the withdrawals and that is probably the best I can subscribe to a mini-session re: nicotine.

Yet, if I chose to I can smoke and if I hang around smoky places I get the cravings but I can resist if I want to. The psychological addiction stays a long time until there is deep and profound healing at an infantile level imo. Which is why, realistically, addicts in recovery need to be aware that the vulnerability to chemical dependence will remain all the way through the process of healing until the end.

I hope that gives you a better picture on the nicotine side.

BTW I have sometimes returned to smoking out of exhaustion at the duration of the healing process and the desire to indulge myself a little bit along the way!

With Love

Lee

That's because you're getting a nice, direct 5 minute glutamate fix from the nicotine.  Which, unlike other stimulants, calms you down while picking you up.

Glutamate, it turns out, is even more important for addiction that dopamine-- because without downstream glutamate action to imprint the addiction, there is no longterm memory of the dopamine spike (craving, not just reward) common to most drugs of abuse.

Mice genetically engineered to knock out their mGluar5 pathway could not be induced to keeping injecting coke. Unlike all other mice, they lost interest and went back to food and water.

With nicotine you get straight to the glutamate fix. The reason you feel poisoned is that glutamate causes inflamation, which causes free radicals, which cause cancer. No wonder!

Both ibogaine and cannabis are glutamate antagonists, BTW. They just work at different stages--cannabis before, ibogaine after--of glutamate firing. As I understand it.
