Dear Brother Douglas and Peoples of the Church of the Universe,
We are pleased that you represented the Church on Canabian Day 2004, and we thank you for your Report "copy below" describing for us the real "deal at the Up in Smoke Café" and the demonstrators and police at Ferguson Station and the Café across the Street at King St., E., and Ferguson, in Hamilton. We passed by Ferguson Station and witnessed the tail end of what appeared to be a short parade of people who did not seem to be smoking because of the Police presence and their holding to the false belief that Marijuana is illegal so sayeth them. Hogwash.Thank you again.Be well and prosper. In peace, bless you, bless us all.Reverend SAMwww.iamm.com

Importance: HighHello Brother Walter and Brother Michael,When I went by Ferguson Station I saw about half a dozen cops and a few cop bikes. I continued onto the the shop were there was a multitude of people outside signing memberships. $5.00 for a single visit and $10.00 for an annual membership. The deal is this..... its not so much that they "permit" personal use, its that "they don't really prohibit it". When you light up, you're on your own and the place could get busted at anytime. The brownies are as lethal as a tim-bit..... no kick....... nothing compared to Sis. Julies goodies. The only THC there is the stuff you bring..... smokeables only.
With the police presence..... I figured you would split. Better safe that sorry. I left my sacrament upstairs at home. The seating capacity of the joint I'm told is 60 with room for standing....... after an hour or so it was standing room only. The cops were just waiting for someone to light up outside!I gave you my last $10.00 so I have to wait till the end of the month for my cheque and to join. I did stay outside till almost 6pm. All the cops did was to try to make us nervous and to let everyone know they're there. For me at least, they played modern music, and much too loud! Unless they mellow it out..... I won't go often.I did speak to many neat people and I filled them in on the Church angle on things and I gave them your phone number. We may have a few new members..... hope I did'nt screw up by giving out the membership speach! It's really nice to meet like minded people. Some needing marijuana medically and frustrated at the lack of Doctors that won't perscribe it for fear of being hastled by the RCMP. I was really neat to see the younger people dressing like they just walked off a Woodstock posterChurch membership would be an asset to anyone who goes there.
All the best,
Bless You Both

August 23, 2004By PATRICK HEALY and COLIN MOYNIHANThe Yippies hit the Upper East Side last night, banging
bongos and shouting anti-Republican chants. They had come
to protest outside Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg's town house,
and they dubbed their demonstration the opening salvo of
the Republican National Convention. If so, it was a shot barely heard round the corner. They
obediently stayed within the police barricades at the
corner of Fifth Avenue and 79th Street, a perch well away
from Mayor Bloomberg's home farther east on 79th Street.
The 60 people who had gathered were not quite enough to
fill up the cordoned-off pen.
Their invective, calling the mayor "Bummerberg" and
chanting the "Liar, liar, pants on fire" rhyme, was not
quite incendiary. And they offered Krispy Kreme doughnuts
to police officers monitoring the demonstration. The
officers politely declined.
Many of the Yippies who gathered at the corner are now in
their 50's, and remember the birth of the Youth
International Party under Abbie Hoffman in the 1960's and
the group's violent confrontation with the Chicago police
during the 1968 Democratic National Convention.
The Yippies, whose protests combine street theater and
radical liberalism, reiterated the refrain of other protest
groups: that Mr. Bloomberg should allow demonstrations in
Central Park during the weeklong convention. What is
expected to be the biggest gathering of protesters has been
limited to the West Side Highway, and Mr. Bloomberg has
shown no sign of changing his mind to allow demonstrations
in the park.
"Bloomberg is putting people in danger by saying we can't
have Central Park," said Aron Kay, a protester whose modus
operandi is flinging pies at politicians and celebrities.
"The people of New York don't need it. The mom-and-pop
stores don't need it. We don't need it, and the police
don't need it."
As the sun set over Central Park, the demonstrators
clapped, encouraged one another's iambic chants and offered
passers-by antiwar buttons, fliers advertising other
rallies and pro-marijuana magazines.
Mr. Kay said: "I feel that the park belongs to people. We
have the right to assemble in our park."
Dana Beal, another demonstrator, agreed, saying, "There's
going to be total chaos if they don't let us have Central
Park."An hour and a half after they arrived, the Yippies broke up
and filtered into the night. Whether the mayor had even
been home to notice them, however, was unclear.
"I don't know whether he was there or not," said his
spokesman, Edward Skyler. "That's not the sort of thing
that would bother him."Activists demonstrate near mayor's homeAugust 23, 2004, 5:05 PM EDT
A group of activists best known for their protests during the Vietnam War have set their sights on two new targets: Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the upcoming Republican National Convention.About 60 members of the Youth International Party, or Yippies, stood at the edge of Central Park near Mayor Michael Bloomberg's Upper East Side apartment Sunday to chant in protest of the GOP meeting.
Organizers said the city's denial of a permit for protests in Central Park will make things more difficult for the city.
"Bloomberg set up a situation where there'll be total chaos if they don't let them have the park," said Aron Kaye, 54, a longtime Yippie.
The convention itself _ not protesters _ would pose the greatest threat to the city's security, organizers said.
"Right wing fundamentalists make New York an even bigger target" for terrorists, said John Penley, an organizer. "We don't want them here."
Dana Beale, another organizer, said the group also blamed Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe for not granting the Central Park permit. The Yippies were founded in 1968 by Beale and activists Paul Krassner and Abbie and Anita Hoffman. Their name later became synonymous with the "Chicago Seven" trial after riots at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. Abbie Hoffman was convicted but charges against him were later dropped. He died in 1989.West Virginia man heckles presidents, gets fired: 'You disagree with them and it all turns evil'
Saturday August 21, 2004
By JOHN RABY
Associated Press Writer--------------------------------------
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) A man who heckled President Bush at a political rally was fired from his job at an advertising and design company for offending a client who provided tickets to the event.
The fired graphic designer said Saturday he won't try to get his job back.
``I'm mad less about losing the job I'm more mad about the reasons,'' said Glen Hiller, 35, of Berkeley Springs. ``All I did was show up and voice my opinion.''
Hiller was ushered out of Hedgesville High School on Tuesday after shouting his disagreement with Bush's comments about the war in Iraq war and the search for weapons of mass destruction. The crowd had easily drowned out Hiller with its chant: ``Four more years.''
``He surrounds himself with people who support him,'' Hiller said of Bush. ``Your opinion ... is viewed as right or wrong.''
When he showed up for work at Octavo Designs of Frederick, Md., the following morning, he said he was told he'd embarrassed and offended a client who provided tickets to the event and that he was fired.
The client was a public relations worker who represents the Berkeley County school district, he said. ``It's just bizarre that you disagree with them and it all turns evil,'' Hiller said.
Messages left with Octavo Designs were not immediately returned Saturday.
The father of two young girls had worked at the design firm for five months, doesn't plan to appeal the firing, and holds no grudge against his boss.
``To some degree I can see her point of view,'' Hiller said. ``Advertising is all about having the perfect tan and driving a cool car. It's all about image.''
Hiller said he now plans to pursue work as a registered nurse, a field in which he worked for 10 years before landing the design job.
Last month, Charleston City Council apologized to two protesters arrested for wearing anti-Bush T-shirts to the president's July 4 rally. The pair were taken from the event in restraints after revealing T-shirts with Bush's name crossed out on the front and the words ``Love America, Hate Bush'' on the back. Trespassing charges were ultimately dismissed.

I have a way to put the equivalent of two army divisions of personnel already specially trained to capture terrorists on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. It would work far better than the "shoot everything that moves" approach that seems to typify our occupation of Iraq. And it would go far to address the concerns often voiced on this page of the need of a new administration to re-direct the wasted energies of the War on Drugs into a serious effort to redress all those years when the country was distracted from the growing threat of Al Quaeda and its allies.
I refer to America's ready reserve of local and state narcs, DEA, and the legion of snitches that serve them--but do not exclude ordinary Sheriff's Deputies in California that take it upon themselves to persecute marijuana patients in disregard the state law they are sworn to uphold in favor of Federal Prohibition, or the highway patrolman who turns over his seized monies into the DEA instead of his state school system. The War on Drugs has overseen such federalization of the states' police resources that more and more cops are effectively federal employees. As such, they should be subject to be drafted and sent overseas to perform the kind of surgical police operations that just could obviate the need for wider war--as well as the inevitable resumption of the draft of 18 year olds with no particular experience or expertise in apprehending specific suspects (as opposed to blowing up villages). Kind of a Law Enforcement Ready Reserve.
The Bush doctrine of indiscriminate military response to terrorism has consequences far beyond a accidental bombings of wedding parties: Osama Bin Laden is still at large, even now training his successors. The reservoir of fanatics ready and able to blow themselves up for Islam is growing faster than we can catch the bad guys.
The answer is to establish several new MP Divisions from 40,000 gung-ho cops and narcs who will jump at the chance to go hunting--especially if you pay them extra and give them a chance to steal a little and deal a little drugs on the side. (It's Afghanistan we're talking about, remember.) Particular qualifications would be 1) anyone with a pattern and practice of making marijuana arrests to the exclusion of hard drugs; 2) DARE officers who go into schools and tell kids heroin is the same as marijuana; 3.) any law enforcement personnel who have ever suppressed any demonstration or free speech exercise to legalize medical marijuana or ibogaine.
Just my two cents.
Dana Bealco-Founder, Youth International Party****!!!IBOGAINE TREATMENT NOW $1500 IN HOLLAND--CALL SARA, 0113134-624-1770 !!!****From: ptpeet@...Hi all,
So, I think I mighta just made history- I certainly did for my own
personal history.
I had called my pain doc's office last week, Thursday or Friday to
reschedule this morning's appointment, but changed the appointment to
Wednesday thinking I'd still possibly not be up to an office visit this
morning. But not having been able to sleep actually last night (I crashed
pretty hard for a few hours after our park adventure), so I decided to go
out and visit him anyway.
First I saw one of the assistant doctors, who is kinda in training I
think, as she usually ok's the scripts with my doc before handing them to
me. She came out, grabbed my chart and called me into her office. She asked
me on the way if it was ok with me to see her or if I prefered to see my own
regular doc.
"I really do need to speak to Dr. M," I told her, "but to be very
honest, I'd love for you to sit in and hear what I have to say."
"Why don't you tell me, and we'll fill him in when he gets in, whichshould be in just a couple more minutes."
So, I entered her office, and launched into it.
"Um, well, see, I need my pill script drastically reduced, to 3
dilaudids a day and stay at the 2 ms-contins a day, please."
"But you were on 12 a day? You want to drop to 3 A DAY now?" She was
amazed and very curious.
So me and my big mouth told her all about ibogaine. Not about who was
doing it here in NYC (I told them specifically I wasn't going to tell them
that part) and that it is an illegal treatment in the US, but not in
numerous other countries, many of which I named. My own doc asked how he can
tell people about it if it's illegal in the US, but immediately answered
himself saying, "I guess I could just mention it."
She wrote ibogaine down on the bedpaper cover, NOT IN MY CHART, telling
my doc she'd not entered "ibogaine" on my chart, because, well, it is
illegal.
My doc immediately began looking it up online, first pulling up "Healing
Transitions- detoxing and addiction treatment with Ibogaine" instead of the
NY State Alcohol and Substance Abuse page I tried to get them to visit
first. I also told my own doc about Deborah Mash, mainly because of all ofus, she (I think) has the most credentials and has done copious amounts of
research through the U Miami, if I'm remembering and getting my facts
straight- I also mentioned the Ibogaine Dossier, because there are many
links to legit medical studies, right?
They were both very, very intrigued, obviously impressed with both my
appearance and glee, and were both planning on doing more research. They
neither one ever heard of it, and both asked me why they hadn't- so
reiterated that it is illegal here, and because it is so difficult to
believe that it works as advertised, it's hard to get real medical interest
going- but that they could look at me and continue to follow me as usual and
they'd see just how effecting it CAN BE for some folk, like say, oh, me.
:0-))))
Anyway, gotta go run to an audition for a big national print ad now, and
I mean run almost literally (please keep all fingers and toes crossed for me
on this one) and I've been booked for background work on a new tv show
tomorrow during the day, in my neighborhood (I LOVE days like that, as I can
come home and, oh, unwind in the bowl if you catch my drift, and eat in my
own home drinking my own coffee rather than nasty gross set coffee), so I'm
busy, busy, busy.
Have a great day all, and stay well.
Peace and love,
PrestonFrom: HSLotsof@...Preston,
You are making medical history and your doc can tell patients about ibogaine
as experimental medication. A key things to do would be to send him/her a
copy of the Academic Press book edited by Alper and Glick, "Ibogaine: Proceedings
of the First International Conference". As one of the authors dana can get a
30% discount by placing at order for you by calling 1 800 782-4927. This
discount is for authors only. It is a great book and just the kind doctors
really like, especially when you sign it for him for his good work. I am not sure
if a credit card will be needed or not and it can be mailed directly to you I
believe.

From: mcorcoran27@...Well I think today makes 29 days since I had any dope or meth and it feels great. Its actually my birthday today, which I've always hated because it was more a reminder of anything else that I have been addicted for another year. (first did dope on the day after my birthday 12 years ago) But its a new day. I feel like life is just beginning again and life is getting a little better everyday and the only thing that could fuck that up now is by putting any kind of opiate back into my system. I am allergic, simple as that. Break out in detoxes and handcuffs and all that shit. Ya gotta admit some of the little NA slogans are right on.
I slept almost 9 hours last night which was amazing. Still have a few chills here and there and my bowel is still very loose. But it keeps getting a little better everyday and I feel myself getting stronger and stronger and looking better and better everyday.I can't tell you all what a difference its made to keep close to the movement and the treatments. I feel as long as I stay connected in that aspect and stay close to the spirit (if you like) I couldn't imagine ever going backwards.Good vibes to all and keeping good thought's for everyone in the pool right now. -M.From: HSLotsof@...Dear Mark,
The Dutch ibogaine self-help movement immediately recognized the importance
of an ibogaine community. I guess the Bwiti have also. Charles Kaplan was a
sociologist who observed the Dutch ibogaine community and wrote an early but,
interest article on these matters. See http://ibogaine.org/wellness.html
It was great meeting you and I can tell you I found it absolutely uplifting.
And, happy birthday.
Regards as always,
HowardFrom: mcorcoran27@...What can I say Howard. You had more influence in getting me to this place than anyone. Meeting you last night was probably the best birthday present I could have ever imagined. I just felt walking away last night that everything was happening just the way it was supposed it. Everything coming full circle in a way I could never have believed possible a month ago. Thanks for everything and I'm printing the link and will read and comment when I get home from work.
Looking forward to speaking with you soon. -M.
BTW- I intervened this morning and convinced them to "hit him over the head" as soon as possible. 12:00
I was told that I can't even be used as a "real" example because anyone whose up and walking around 7 hours after a therapeutic dose or someone who can dose and go to the park and 4 hours later meet for coffee is not exactly a common response and that I'm actually so far in left Field in that respect that I'd be doing someone a disservice by using my own experience as any kind of example." Your thoughts?
Maybe that was "butt the fuck out" but I got the result I was looking for so I'm glad I did what I did. Or at least I'm hoping I will be happy tomorrow that I stuck my neck out. I might not be his favorite person in the world in a few hours but wait till tomorrow!
But as far as I'm concerned, what on earth is the point in starving it off when you can do it the way its supposed to be done. So we will see.
From: brad.fisher@...Congratulations "M", I have followed your journey, waited for your "return" and am happy for you. It was 9 years ago next week, the last time I came out of a Rehab. and was drug free. All of your descriptions have reminded me of those feelings and thoughts, I never took it as serious as it is. The past 5 years MMT has stabilized my life and got me thinking I'm normal, we know better. You and Preston have given me new hope and probably, many others.bf
From: mcorcoran27@...Thanks Brad. I too know that feeling of being on meth and feeling (almost) normal and actually I was thinking back last night on my life on methadone and remembered that when I got on my first program I needed to have a special letter from the state approving the treatment because I was only 16 so I've been struggling with this for as long as I can remember. That first period on meth was joke and I I just ended up shooting more dope and coke but the second time around maybe 4 years later for me was very different I was tired and I really wanted to stop and I do admit it did the trick for a while. I went back to school and got my shit together but as I look back on it now it was a lie and that (almost normal) feeling eventually brought me right back out because as we both know being on a meth program eventually makes you feel just about the furthest thing from normal especially if you've been able to put your life together in other areas. Well that was my experience anyway. Good luck and thank you again and be in touch any time.
From: brad.fisher@...I am now 52 my youngest daughter graduated from Hi School this spring, as you can see I had responsibilities and was surrounded with reasons to make it work, probably much different situation. Make no mistake I was a glutton to the end and still could be. I really wanted to have my youngest daughter have a good environment. I have known for some time that now is when my challenge will really begin, my children are grown and mostly on their own.bfTo join the Mindvox ibogaine list just send an email to ibogaine-subscribe@... if you please.Nothing more to it.
