I am the swedish guy who called you 15 minutes ago. Nice to talk. Sorry for my english. I blame it on the cup of strong hash-coffee I drank earlier.
Well then. We're a group called "Svenska NORMAL" (Svenska Nationella Organisationen för Reformering av MArijuanaLagstiftningen), founded a month ago. Our primary goal is to organize MMM but other projects are in the pipeline. We'll keep you informed.
Sweden has never hosted MMM before so we're making cannabis history. We have a quite rough political climate here but we feel the winds of change, it's an pan-european trend. Don't hesitate to contact us if you need further info.
All the best,

I already sent the Madrid city listing to you a little earlier. Maybe it disappeared. Here it is again. I don't have any more info on Madrid than this:
Madrid: 8 May 2004: Rally of a Million Joints in Madrid, Spain. Organised by the Spanish movement for the liberation of cannabis, a big rally will take place in the centre of Madrid. http://www.encod.org/agendae.htmThe above is all I have been able to find on the ENCOD page and elsewhere, so far. Since ENCOD is a big organization, I would trust the info, and go ahead and post it on the city list since there are 4 other cities on the city list with NO info at all:

ATTORNEY GENERAL JOHN ASHCROFT, D.E.A. HEAD KAREN TANDY AND ED KUBO, FEDERAL
PROSECUTOR, SUED TO PREVENT RELIGIOUS AND THERAPEUTIC CANNABIS ARRESTS
Aloha. A Complaint for injunctive relief was filed today in the
U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii against U.S. Attorney General
John Ashcroft, D.E.A. Administrator Karen Tandy, and local U.S. District
Attorney Ed Kubo by religious and medicinal consumers of cannabis.
The suit seeks to enjoin the Federal government from arresting and
prosecuting those residents of Hawaii whose religions and religious beliefs
require the consumption of cannabis (the herb governments derogatorily label
as "marijuana").
The lawsuit also seeks protection from federal prosecution for
those citizens of Hawaii who cultivate, consume and/or distribute cannabis
legally pursuant to legislatively enacted Department of Public Safety
Narcotics Enforcement Division guidelines and valid patient/caregiverregistration certificates.
The suit was sparked by the recent arrest of a local Hilo THC
Ministry Reverend, and the ensuing prosecution for cannabis cultivation by
the U.S. Department of Justice.
The case has a high probability of success, based upon the recent
ruling by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals (whose decisions serve as
precedent in Hawaii) in Raich v. Ashcroft. Angel Raich and other
Californians and caregivers can now consume and cultivate therapeutic
cannabis absent the often realized fear of federal prosecution for their use
of a non-toxic and natural herbal medicine.
The Plaintiffs also rely upon the federal Religious Freedom
Restoration Act to secure their definitive right to free exercise of
religion.
That Act was recently used to prevent the federal government from
prosecuting a New Mexico based, Brazilian Uniao Do Vegetal themed religion
for their importation and distribution of Ayahuasca, a hallucinogenic-laced
tea from the Brazilian rainforest.
According to Michael A. Glenn, Esq., the Hawaii attorney for the
churches and patients suing Ashcroft, "The Federal Government has zero
compelling interest in preventing either the religious or therapeuticconsumption of cannabis by Hawaii's citizens. More people died last month
from eating peanuts, jaywalking or taking aspirin than have ever been harmed
by cannabis in the entire history of its use. And, even if you take the
federal government at face value and accept that they have the power and
duty to protect one from one's own folly, the mandatory terms of
imprisonment faced by cannabis users have zero relationship to the goal of
harm reduction and indeed smack of Draconian punishment for freethinking,
non-violent Reverends and patients leading law abiding lives."
Local cannabis activist and founder of the THC Ministry Reverend
Roger Christie is ready to change the government's views on cannabis. "The
conspiracy against marijuana is being replaced with the truth of cannabis."
Mahalo and aloha.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
This email is to share with you my deep concerns about the recent shift in
the drug policy discussion now taking place in my country.
Recently the (minor governmental) Christian-Democratic party has been
demanding major changes in the Czech drug policy, calling for their version
of an American-style "war on drugs." According to these Christian
Democrats, the justification for mounting this "war on drugs" is a
"constant worsening of the drug situation and an increasing number of
addicts," and the claim of a direct "link between drugs and terrorism."
In response to, and in rebuttal of, these claims, the head of the National
Drug Commission, Vice-Prime-Minister Petr Mares pointed out that according
to available data (see
http://www.drogy-info.cz/filemanager/download/281/AR%202002%20Czech%20republic
_DEF.pdf
-OR- http://www.drogy-info.cz/article/articleview/1265/1/16/), the number
of addicted and/or problem drug users has actually decreased, as has the
number of drug users in treatment. It is clear that the Christian
Democrats' claims are actually based on their confusion of the terms
"addict" (or problem drug user), "one-time experimenter" and "recreational
user." It is only with this oversight or inappropriate twist of logic that
they are able to argue there has been a worsening of the drug situation,
for the actual figures show otherwise.
When their errors in the interpretation of the available standardized data
were pointed out to them, their reaction was surprising: they demanded the
dismantling of the National Focal Point on Drugs and Drug Addiction, the
very institution that is responsible for gathering drug-related data and
reporting them to the EU and to the Czech government. These calls for
rejecting the current compilation methods are that it has produced data
that does not support their prohibitionist views. The Czech National Focal
Point was developed in 2001-2002 within the framework of two PHARE projects
- one in cooperation with the European Monitoring Centre on Drugs and Drug
Addiction (EMCDDA), the other with Austrian government represented by the
Austrian Federal Institute for Health (OEBIG). The Czech study has been
positively evaluated by the EMCCDA and is said to be producing high quality
data during all 3 years of its existence.
The Focal Point statistics indicate that, whereas the lifetime prevalence
of cannabis use (and far less so for ecstasy) has increased, the number of
problem drug users has actually decreased, as reflected in reductions in
the number of recorded overdoses and drug related deaths. Other major
achievements are represented by the extremely low number of
HIV/AIDS-infected users and in the low number of VHC positive drug users.
Those who are interested in the facts regarding the Czech drug situation
can access them through the on-line annual report (see the links identified
above or http://candidates.emcdda.eu.int/en/page68-en.html).
While totally disregarding these facts (and also occasionally attacking
them), Christian Democrats have also demanded major changes in the national
drug strategy that is being prepared for 2005-2009. These alterations
include the withdrawal of current governmental resolutions regarding legal
changes in drug penalties (that are planned to be differentiated according
to the unique social and health risks posed by particular drugs). They are
also demanding major changes in the system of financing of non-governmentalorganizations (NGOs) that provide treatment and harm reduction programs.
Finally, they are effectively aiming to destroy the highly successful
inter-ministerial coordination of the existing drug policy, a plan that
leans on four pillars: prevention, treatment, harm reduction and repression.
Given an absence of data to support their proposals, the Christian
Democrats have intentionally continued to promote confusion of the terms
"lifetime prevalence of any drug use" and "addictive use." They also
successfully pushed through the establishment of an "expert group" (one
comprised of their friends, and purposely overlooking all of the
distinguished members of the existing National Drug Commission), with the
assigned task of reviewing the Czech drug policy and then proposing
possible changes. According to media reports, three members of the proposed
"expert group" have been identified - all are politicians with no
background nor expertise in drug issues and are closely tied to the
police/ministry of interior. Finally, it should be noted that the Minister
of Interior is slated to be the chair of the "expert group."
This transparent scheme by the Christian Democrats, aided by certain law
enforcement officials, is intended to shift the orientation of Czech drugpolicy from a reliance on scientific data and evidence-based measures, to
one where intra-departmental fights and ideological claims will prevail.
It is my view that we now face the imminent danger of the introduction of a
drug policy that eschews scientific data and evidence, in favor of one that
simply echoes the particular interests of a vested interest group - the
law-enforcement lobby.
Although the Christian Democrats are the second weakest political party in
both parliament and the current government, they could succeed in these
actions if they are not quickly and forcefully rebutted by leading national
and international figures. The (majority) government, comprised of Social
Democrats, Christian Democrats and Union of Freedom members has acombination of 101 votes in a 200 member parliamentary body. Given this
slim advantage, the dominant group may be vulnerable to the pressures
created by a smaller coalition partner.
I believe that the Prime Minister and the minister responsible for the
National Drug Commission (who is a chief of the Union of Freedom party)
would benefit from the receipt of a letter supporting the achievements of
the (evidence-based) Czech drug policy and of the need for continuing
sound, scientific data collection and evaluation.
I intend to prepare an open letter on this topic and would be appreciative
if you would sign and post it to the Czech Prime Minister. If everything
goes well - that is, if I am able to clearly translate the published
materials of both the Christian Democrats and of the (governmental)
National Drug Commission - I would ask you to consider signing the
document. I intend to forward it to you during the next week.
Before concluding, I would like to note that I was personally responsible
for the scientific aspects of the Czech National Focal Point, doing so
within the framework of the PHARE projects in 2001-2. At the present time I
am still cooperating with that body regarding several research projects
(e.g. a study of the seroprevalence of viral hepatitis C in drug users).
Despite these personal ties, however, I am not writing this letter in order
to protect the institution I still feel connected to. Rather, I do so in
order to share my concern about the deliberate misuse and rejection of
scientific data and the efforts to turn the decision making process
regarding the Czech drug policy from an evidence-base discussion to an
ideological one.
Sincerely
twz
PS: I am also including my translation of the press release of the National
Drug Commission, as you can find it in Czech at the www.drogy-info.cz.

--------From: lesneron@...Hello my name Is Robert Neron from Hearst , Ontario . you or some one from your office knows me personally ...
Last Monday the 22th of March I mail for free a 33.2 grams sample of the medicine I use to some how control My chronic illiness wich is Invellontary muscle spams in my back . Well this Freind Call Gord Hummes from Nova Scotia Has simmillar back spams . ( Gords is a VETERAN ) .
He was so pleased that i would share a little pain relief medecine with him as him too the pills are not working very well .
Gord's been a Federal Exemptee just like I am now for while .
Health Canada only produce 10 % thc an to control spams you need over 14 % thc wich the strain I normally grow has 18.6% THC . It's A real Medicine and not cut down like Gouvernement swagg.
I had used PUROLATOR as a compagnie to deliver the small odourless as I had it in tripple ziplocks for freezers . I bought insurenses for it cost me 60 dollars total to send it VIA PUROLATOR to NOVA SCOTIA .
Gord was suppose to recieved it by thursday the 25th ( thats what the cleck said it be there for ) .
By Friday the 26th he hadnt recieved any thing yet . Good thing it was insured for 500 $ , It would cost me that much to buy it from compation club with the same quality medicine .
The box got conficated by purolator that then had it open by a RCMP ( Rick HILL ) in Truno Nova Scotia . No one never called from Purolator to tell me the RCMP had my Legale medication .
Now Purolator wont refund me the price of shipping it plus the price of the insurenses on it .
So I finnally called the RCMP of the Drug Squad In Truno Nova Scotia to let them know that I was the Grower of that medicine an that I wanted them to deliver it ASAP as Gord was in lots of pain .
They said they would not do that . The RCMP RICK HILL treatten me that they would charge me with trafficking and that i would loose my permit an that i would be force to use the swagg at 10 % THC ( that would mean i would requierd 2 oz per day 5$ per gram thats 300$ per day , an 2100$ per week an , 8400$ per month , That is for me only . Gord uses the same amount aproximitelly .
Now I dont think His Veteran penssion would pay for that , And i'm shure WSIB will not either ,
So we are left , Myself with 1000$ per month an i need to pay in Canadian funds 8400 $ in ligale prescribed medicine .. WE DO NEED TO DO SOME THING AS HEALTH CANADA IS MORE EXPENSIVE THE THE LOCAL HELLS ANGLES AN OF LESSER QUALITY TOO >...
So the RCMP said also that he would be calling Health canada , I told him i all ready Had , an he said that the OPP would come to charge me with Trafficking ( a ligale substence for Me and Gord ) a illigale substence ( for most of you's ) . an this conversation was over .
I'm still waiting for OPP or RCMP to show up . I spent the nigh in extreme pain due to the Accumulated stress related with the threat recieved , an the never ending fear of having to fight again for what i all ready have .
2np part to this story an perhaps the best is the conversation with Sherel Anderson from Health Canada . ...
When i called the first time i spoken to a receptionnist . ...At the time i was still shaking of stress ( ivellontary spams) So i told him that we needed health canada Have are medication return/delivered asap .
A few minutes later i recieved a call from Miss Anderson an she said that SHE " can not help us Mr Neron " she said .
" as you dint buy the medication from us ..."
I almost passed-out( Faint ) I could not believe that , I even told her " this is a joke right" . she affirmed me that it wasnt ......
I have applied 3 or 4 times to be - A grower for any one ( like they are ) as long as they have a exemption
- A Licence Dealer
- A Unlimited production ( like Flin Flon has )
They refused me every time . As they want to be the only one with medication for sale .
Sheral Anderson said that i could be charge with traffincking , I said " charge me " . i said " i'm not selling it , i was giving it away for free " . " Why cant you do that with your swagg ".
she replyed " We have cost that we have to make up for" .
So they'll put more cut into thier all ready no good pot swagg .
So again today i'm passing the word around that we will want to finally challenge that into courts .
Every time some case's happen like the one i'm in right now or like ex: The " crown Vs Renda " The charges were drop . The we had the " Crown Vs Hitzig " that too was droped .Then we had the " Crown Vs Dupuis " .
So what is going to happen with mine , is it only treaths . if they are " I"ll WANT MY MEDICATION BACK ".
Canada Has a Big probleme with this , there is a big GREY erea

UN Drug Policies Allow Money to Flow to Terrorists
URL: http://www.mapinc.org/drugnews/v04/n454/a09.html
UN DRUG POLICIES ALLOW MONEY TO FLOW TO TERRORISTS: THINK TANK
VIENNA: A controversy has erupted here over stemming the use of drug money to fund terrorism after the Madrid attacks, with a European think-tank saying UN policies were fuelling the problem instead of fighting it.
Members of the Network of European Foundation's ( NEF ) Comite de Sages on Wednesday said by seeking to prohibit drugs the United Nations was creating a profitable black market for them.
"This regime fosters terrorism because it provides the funds for terrorism and it endangers international security," NEF member Sir Keith Morris, a former British ambassador to Colombia, told a press conference.
Morris was speaking on the sidelines of the 47th session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs, after a symposium organised by the Senlis Council, a think tank on drug policy.
"The system is not working but it is not being debated at the UN, it is a taboo," he said.
The director general of the UN Office for Drugs and Crime, Antonio Maria Costa, warned a day after the Madrid attacks on March 11 that there was a link between organised crime, including drug trafficking, and terror groups.
On Tuesday, Maria Costa signed a cooperation agreement in Vienna with Europol, singling out the fight against terrorism as a shared goal.
At the signing ceremony the chief of the European police, Juergen Storbeck called on countries and international organisations "to cooperate better" against terrorism, organised crime and drug trafficking.
He said that some terrorist groups had used drug money to finance their activities, including the Kurdish movement PKK in Turkey.
But former Interpol secretary general Raymond Kendall, a member of the NEF, argued Wednesday that the UN should "change its approach from repressive law enforcement to look at consumption and demand and harm reduction methods."
"The United Nations in 1998 set itself the aim of a drug free world by 2008. We are halfway down the road to 2008 and there are more drugs than ever. So much for the idea that we have made progress."
Eugene Oscapella, from the Canadian Foundation for Drug Policy, said: "The UN has not stopped to think that it is precisely prohibition that is making drugs such a desirable commodity."
The foundation argues in a recent paper that "the drug trade under a system of prohibition has become a major, if not the major, source of funding for many terrorist groups."
It says Afghanistan -- which produced 3,600 tonnes of opium poppies in 2003 according to the UN -- allowed the Taliban and its allies to control the European, Asian and Russian markets and reap huge spoils.
"Without prohibition these drugs would be worth much, much less. Columbia has coffee and cocaine. But it is cocaine money that is being used to fund left-wing and right-wing paramilitaries," he told AFP.
The Senlis Council also accused the UN of highlighting the link between drugs and terror as a scare tactic in the wake of the Madrid bombings and a way of seeking support for failed policies.
Senlis Council director Emmanuel Reinert told AFP: "The UN is focussing on this link with terror as a way of saying drugs should be banned, of creating support for its prohibition measures."
The group argues that the three UN drug treaties of 1961, 1971 and 1998 have failed for more than 40 years to curb the drug trade and abuse, and should make way for a means of regulating the trade.
In its report for 2003, the UN's International Narcotics Control Board ( INCB ) warned in February that Afghanistan's opium production was also fuelling the spread of HIV through Asia, the former Soviet states and South Africa. The Senlis Council urged the provision of safe injecting rooms and clean needles for drug users, though these do not comply with its international drug control treaties.****!!!IBOGAINE TREATMENT NOW $1500 IN HOLLAND--CALL SARA, 0113134-624-1770 !!!****From: scottmarkwell@...Hello all--
I am wondering if there is anyone on this list who is experienced with both ayahuasca and iboga? If so, I am curious as to what are the similarities and differences.
I am very experienced with ayahuasca, but not iboga. I have read many 'trip reports' on iboga and already know some of the obvious differences--obviously iboga is a much longer experience, but I am particularly interested in hearing a comparison form someone who has significant experience with large doses of both.
Thanks,

mother/father-------From: scottmarkwell@...Interesting. I've always experienced aya as decidedly masculine (as opposed to Salvia for instance, which seems very feminine to me.) Are you saying iboga is even more ?-------From: stevenanker@...It's very paternal. A stern father. None of this give yourself a hug stuff.
----From: windforme@...aya/ibo

When on aya, I asked her about my work with iboga and she said to me: 'yes, i know iboga' and showed me this vision of a caricature which popped up out of a cylindrical portal kinda dealio looking much like a smiley carved wooden voodoo doll that was very distinctly different from any other aya vision/landscape that surrounded it. It made me laugh pretty hard actually, as I had always had a heavy sense about Iboga and it helped me to lighten this up a little. The sense I got was that aya and ibo are old friends, they just work in different ways.
I agree with the mama's embrace/papa's schoolin' comparison.
Both had beautiful things to show me and were very good at also scolding me for the things I needed to look at or do. Just in different ways...----From: scottmarkwell@...This is fascinating that both you and Steven experience Aya as more 'maternal' because that's not how I experience Aya, but maybe I should mention I've never done the actual Cappi vine, I've only done analogs with Syrian Rue (extract of 2-3 grams) and Jurema Preta (extract of 8+ grams.) (I'm about 140 lbs.)
But I have noticed that on 5 grams of Jurema it is much more "warm and fuzzy--" about like 2 grams of very good mushrooms or a couple hundred mcgs. of lsd, only of course very different in it's 'charector.' On a lower dose it can feel very 'maternal,' but unfortunately I've never found lower doses to be of that much benefit (maybe I don't need mothering?).
On 8+ grams of Jurema the experience could well be described as big daddy in the sky grabbing you by the scruff of the neck and shaking you violently for six hours while lecturing you on things that... just make a WHOLE lot of sense. At least that's my experience, and I know everyone is different.
Is a lower dose of Ibo more maternal, or is it always paternal?----From: windforme@...mind you, I've only had one ibo experience, so my description can only account for that, which isn't really a well designed comparison. It's just been my experience so far and on that note, it isn't really much of a description for an experience that has affected me as profoundly as it has.
and to be honest, i really didn't feel so much scolded as i was directly guided to looking at some deeper issues that i needed to focus on and understand. ibo seemed to also have a cryptic, symbolic language that takes time to integrate and so does aya but the way they represent themselves in my experience seem different somehow.
- visions were different (ibo more like vivid dreams and aya more patterned, geometric and futuristic)
- body sensations were different (ibo felt slightly out of bodied & flowing, aya more electrified and travelling through various circuits in the body like lightpulses)- sounds very acute and crystalline on ibo, on aya more acute on the internal dialogue level, but i also had the pleasure of having beautiful music played and sung (icaros during the aya) on both journeys that made the whole experience very grounding and guided by it, in a sense.
in short, you're right: everybody is different
and all experience is valid.

That's a new way of thinking, Hum... There are ways to find that out.
But it is an individual test for each person.
The use of Syrian rue can be helpful after Ibo.
For some psychological side effects. It can give a happy high and extra
energy in a very natural way,M mushrooms can do that too as well as Aya.
And probably plenty of other plants.

From: bcalabrese@...Harmaline is similar in structure and effect (if there is anything) to ibogaine. Ibogaine however ibogaine is ibogaine, IMO there really isn't anything to add to it to make it more ibogaine or better ibogaine. You can do harmaline for the harmaline, not to make the ibogaine better or make more ibogaine/cheaper ibogaine. I am not sure "potentiates" is the word I would use, more like mixing 2 similar drugs. What I got when I tried it was strange ibogaine, I didn't care for it. What I hear when people talk trying to make the iboga better/cheaper by doing something to it (creative) they almost invariably make it worse. I would STRONGLY suggest nixing that idea till you are experienced with the substance and then very carefully, maybe on a smaller scale to see what happens and not a full-blown iboga trip. Iboga is a hand-full as it is, things can go wrong (like lack of heart beat and breathing), it is extremely long and arduous, I am not sure I would want anyting like potentiating and I don't think it is necessary or desirable - for me. If anything it is too much, just an enormous amount of information, thoughts and feelings to process. Anyway, no it didn't "potentiate" it, like I said, strange iboga, it did seem to add to the effect though negatively in my case or that time (I was none too healthy).
Brett
-------From: HSLotsof@...If you mean by how much did ibogaine dominate the experience, I cannot
provide a percentage but, only to say that I interpreted the experience as an
ibogaine experience during which I observed the actions of an lsd or mescaline
experience. That would be with 200mcg of lsd or 500mgs of mescaline. However, in
the 60s for whatever reasons all persons needed only half the amount of
ibogaine to reach the full therapeutic effect then they to today, across
manufacturer and form (HCl, base, tannate, sulfate). Therefore the actual experiences Iwas talking about were combinations of 500mg ibogaine with 500mgs mescaline or
200mcg lsd. 500mgs of ibogaine produced effects during the 1960s ibogaine
period that now require 1000mgs of ibogaine. Anyone that can resolve that
mystery is welcome. Those were my experiences and may be quite distinct for others.
The 60s vs 80s/90s/2000 ibogaine experience the dosage issue was across many
individuals and not my response alone.
Howard------From: ross@...I wonder if MSG could be the explanation - wasn't it put in
processed food in those days? Or some other food additive that
was discontinued.
Bill-----From: scottmarkwell@...The reason I asked is that harmaline makes psilocybin about three times more potent. This is because psilocybin is partially broken down in the stomach by MAO--a small dose of syrian rue 15-30 minutes before inhibits MAO from breaking it down and thus allows the full amount of alkaloid to enter the bloodstream from the stomach. Also everyone knows that an MAO inhibitor is absolutely necessary to get any effect from oral DMT (Aya).
I've also heard from reliable sources that harmaline has a similar effect on mescaline--makes it 2-3 times stronger by preventing MAO from breaking any of it down in the stomach--though I have no experience with that combination.------From: scottmarkwell@...I've never enjoyed harmaline for its own sake, but I know that a small (sub-psychoactive) dose of harmaline strongly potentiates several other substances because it is an MAO inhibitor. Harmaline (or harmine) is necessary for Aya and I know for certain it makes mushrooms 2-3 times stronger and I've heard from reliable sources it similarly potentiates mescaline.
I guess the real question is does MAO in the stomach interfere with ibogaine as it does other tryptamine like substances? If it does then harmaline should strongly potentiate it. If ibogaine is not effected by MAO then harmaline should make no difference.
----------From: scottmarkwell@...Ah, I see you already answered my question before I even asked!
So, anyway you are talking about smaller relative doses of lsd and mescaline and a larger relative dose of ibogaine.
I think what you said about people needing more ibogaine now than in the 60's is absolutely fascinating. I've got no theory on that, but I have heard that westerners in general are often more tolerant of certain substances than the indigenous people who traditionally used the substance. Studies done on the traditional ayahuasca brews made by the shamans in the amazon showed levels of DMT that I would barely feel, but the natives apparently feel it QUITE strongly. Quite a tantalizing mystery!-----From: bcalabrese@...Scott
Harmaline will have no such effect on ibogaine. In effect you seem to be looking to increast the amount of ibogaine, this isn't exactly something you might really want to do. Ibogaine is actually far more toxic than nor-ibogaine, the primary metabolite of ibogaine - which (nutshell) stays bound to receptors (and wherever else it may be) for long periods of time afer dosing. You jack up the ibogaine say by dosing with a bunch of tylenol (or whatever) along with the ibo (and interfere with metabolism), you get more ibogaine floating in your blood, this can be a bad thing. 1 out of 10 people are poor metabolizers of ibgaine, they tend to get awfully hard (one clinic refuses to treat them), fast metabolizers don't trip as hard but make a bunch of nor-ibogaine quickly. Typically ibogaine is out of the blood in 6 hours from peek (if I recall correctly), or about 8 hours after taking it. This seems to be what is causing the visions and is right in line with the time frame - a WAG on my part of what is happening. Ibogaine trips are NOT FUN, it is after that is fun. So every now and then you get someone TRIPPING on ibogaine for several days, or real TRIPPING - normally it ain't nothing like a "trip". I suppose you could take a drug to speed metabolism of ibogaine to nor-ibogaine and reduce the trip some.
Be careful what you mix MAOIs or ibogaine with.
Brett-----From: scottmarkwell@...Thanks Brett,
That is disappointing to hear, but ah well. But I actually wasn't looking for a way to increase the ibogaine so much as I was looking for a way to decrease the dose and still get the same effects. As you know, the stuffs expensive so it would have been nice if I could have achieved similar effects by taking 1/2 to 1/3 as much. Oh well.
Scott------From: scottmarkwell@...But remember to be careful--the idea is not to take a dose of syrian rue and then a normal dose of mushrooms or mescaline--the idea is to take a dose of syrian rue and then take a much smaller than normal dose of mushrooms or mescaline and thus achieve the same effects with lower toxicity and lower cost.
Also remember the dietary restrictions. Although harmaline and harmine are very short acting maoi's there is still some danger. The best bet is not to eat anything starting a couple hours before taking the rue and continuing until at least 4 hours after.
Note: even if you eat a big hunk of cheese while on the harmaline you will probably be fine. Even on pharmaceutical long term maoi's most people never experienced the 'tyramine allergy.' But why take the chance? Why risk getting an agonizing headache which could even possibly lead to death--and particularly why risk going through that while on mushrooms or mescaline? Talk about a 'bad trip!'
Scott------From: HSLotsof@...Scott,
The ibogaine doses in the 60s by weight were equivalent to the dose of
mescaline, both at that time considered full therapeutic doses as was the dose of
200mcg of lsd. As to the 1000mg dose of ibogaine I was projecting a theoretical
dose as I anticipate would be required of current ibogaine manufacturing.
So, in my opinion the matter of actual weight is not as important as that of
dose anticipated to provide full effect. I mean you are not going to take 500mgs
of lsd are you? mgs = milligrams, mcg = microgramsHoward----From: HSLotsof@...In a message dated 3/31/04 9:22:35 PM, bcalabrese@... writes:

Thanks
Howard-----From: bcalabrese@...Howard,
I do not have a citation for an observation.
Brett----From: HSLotsof@...What are the criteria for your observations? Anticipating you were not
running pharmacokinetic studies how do you make a determination of ibogaine or
noribogaine availability?
Howard----From: scottmarkwell@...I have taken in excess of a full mg. of lsd (on zero tolerance = > 1 month since the last dose.) I don't know what is or was considered a 'therapeutic' dose but IMO less than 500 mcgs is a "party" dose of lsd. In my experience lsd doesn't really become "therapeutic" untill you take enough to scare the piss out of yourself. And you never get used to it--at least I never do.
Same thing with mescaline. I've taken more than two grams and it is only at the higher 'heroic doses' that I feel a sustained long lasting benefit. 500 mg of mescaline is... fun.
I'm not looking for "fun." The main reason I keep taking these brutal doses of various entheogens is the sustained anti-depressent effect I get in the days and weeks that follow. Believe me, if experience hadn't already taught me that subjecting myself to such a brutal ordeal would reward me with several weeks of feeling "normal" then I would never put myself through it. No-one in their right mind would take 1 mg.+ of lsd just for the fun of it.
I've had a life-long problem with depression. I've tried just about every pharmaceutical anti-depresant as well as therapy, yoga, re-birthing, and well... pretty much everything I could think of. So far nothing works like entheogens.
That's why I'm interested in ibogaine. What I've read makes me think that ibo might have a more sustained effect than anything else I've ever tried. If I have to do the full 'initiatory' dose of ibo once a month for the rest of my life I would be happily willing to do so if that meant I could just feel normal for the rest of the days of the month.

18-MC, a novel iboga alkaloid congener, is being developed as a potential treatment for multiple forms of drug abuse. Like ibogaine (40 mg/kg), 18-MC (40 mg/kg) decreases the intravenous self-administration of morphine and cocaine and the oral self-administration of ethanol and nicotine in rats; unlike ibogaine, 18-MC does not affect responding for a nondrug reinforcer (water). Both ibogaine and 18-MC ameliorate opioid withdrawal signs. Both ibogaine and 18-MC decrease extracellular levels of dopamine in the nucleus accumbens, but only ibogaine increases extracellular levels of serotonin in the nucleus accumbens. Both ibogaine and 18-MC block morphine-induced and nicotine-induced dopamine release in the nucleus accumbens; only ibogaine enhances cocaine-induced increases in accumbal dopamine. Both ibogaine and 18-MC enhance the locomotor and/or stereotypic effects of stimulants. Ibogaine attenuates, but 18-MC potentiates, the acute locomotor effects of morphine; both compounds attenuate morphine-induced locomotion in morphine-experienced rats. Ibogaine produces whole body tremors and, at high doses (100 mg/kg), cerebellar damage; 18-MC does not produce these effects. Ibogaine, but not 18-MC, decreases heart rate at high doses. While 18-MC and ibogaine have similar affinities for kappa opioid and possibly nicotinic receptors, 18-MC has much lower affinities than ibogaine for NMDA and sigma-2 receptors, sodium channels, and the 5-HT transporter. Both 18-MC and ibogaine are sequestered in fat and, like ibogaine, 18-MC probably has an active metabolite. The data suggest that 18-MC has a narrower spectrum of actions and will have a substantially greater therapeutic index than ibogaine.
----From: HSLotsof@...Brett,
According to Glick not a single dose of 18-mc has been administered to a
human subject and according to Mash not a single dose of noribogaine has been
administered to a human subject. Glick reports lack of neurotoxicity and
cardiovascular effects in animal model for 18-mc. 18-mc is not noribogaine. I had
thought that Baumann and Mash I reported noribogaine to be less neurotoxic than
ibogaine but, in a brief review I really can't find the hard data indicating
that. Possibly, Patrick or someone with science background will comment.
Mash indicates that "ibogaine" is not neurotoxic at therapeutic doses in themonkey and administers ibogaine and not noribogaine at her treatment facility. Xu
and Ali with work in part accomplished at an FDA laboratory, the national
center for toxicological research indicate that there is no neurotoxicity of
ibogaine in the rat at therapeutic doses in man, 25mg/kg.
Further on the administration of noribogaine I haven't seen any published
research indicating that noribogaine is long lasting. Glick and Hough indicate
that ibogaine is sequestered in fat and released over time rather than
noribogaine being a long lasting metabolite. The liver converts the released ibogaine
to noribogaine at higher levels than ibogaine. I do not believe any research
has been published demonstrating the administration of noribogaine is longer
lasting than ibogaine. My understanding is that Mash indicates that
noribogaine would be administered via a patch that would release it over time. I have
not seen studies indicating the administration of noribogaine that shows it to
be long lasting. By the way Glick has identified the primary 18-MC
metabolite as nor 18-MC.Howard

During this Passover season as Jews around the globe celebrate their escape from slavery in Egypt, we should take special note that, sadly, slavery is not history, that indeed there are people in bondage, real bondage, on every continent. Every year during this time, Jews retell their exodus from Egypt to remember their own enslavement, and, therefore think of those people who are still in the worst of circumstances.
The commandment of pid'yon shivu'im - of freeing captives - is one of the highest mitzvot in Jewish in law. It is a call for us to rise up against slavery and tyranny in our own time.
Most people don't know that slavery still exists. But it does. From Khartoum to Calcutta, from Brazil to Bangladesh, men, women, and children live and work as slaves or in slave-like conditions. There are as many as 30 million people in bondage - more than any other point in history.
If, at your seder, you wish to recognize those who remain in bondage, leave an empty chair again this year. And on this holiday when Jews are commanded to relive the bitter experience of slavery, place a fourth matzah with the traditional three and read this prayer written by Rabbi Joel Soffin of Temple Shalom in Succasunna, NJ.
Holding the Fourth Matzah
"We raise this fourth matzah to remind ourselves that slavery still exists, that people are still being bought and sold as property, that the Divine image within them is yet being denied. We make room at our seder table and in our hearts for those in southern Sudan and in Mauritania who are now where we have been.
We have known such treatment in our own history. We have suffered while others stood by and pretended not to see, not to know. We have eaten the bitter herb; we have been taken from our families and brutalized. We have experienced the horror of being forcibly converted. In the end, we have come to know in our very being that none can be free until all are free.
And so, we commit and recommit ourselves to work for the freedom of these people. May the taste of this 'bread of affliction' remain in our mouths until they can eat in peace and security. Knowing that all people are Yours, O G-d, we will urge our government and all governments to do as You once commanded Pharaoh on our behalf: 'Shalach et Ami!
