ROACH MOTEL (1 of 2)

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Little wigga Justin, 17, stoned and first time in jail
but not scared at all, was entertaining the prisoners with stories of rich
girls. There was Diana from New Jersey. Diana had daddy's mansion and her
own pool; golden electronic fish swam in the water -- "Yeah, yo,
battery-powered fish, all gold and shit, Diana swims with 'em, nigga. Rich,
yo, rich bitch, I mean like this girl has diamonds from shoulder to
shoulder that say D-I-A-N-A like a big smile, and the trucks yo, the
Escalades, the ML430s, and the mansion -- Diana's room has electric sliding
doors; you clap, they open like magic. Diana!"

"Diana," murmured Syringe, junkie of name unknown, old soiled longhair,
nodding out and toothless and splayed -- "Diana," then he passed out.
Justin watched with interest. Syringe looked like Kentucky Appalachia, but
talked Brooklyn, old Italian Brooklyn, that is, no niggas or yo or bro, an
old junkie-hippie in jean jacket and dirty jeans with a blue bandanna
across his forehead; he carried a syringe -- no drugs, just a syringe.

ROACH MOTEL (2 of 2)

The fates smile at 3:45 p.m. Eric is called out, and Justin, and the cell
empties as the names widen, and I am not called; this produces a sinking
feeling, a wanting to kick someone; Santiago isn't called either, and we're
left alone. "You and me," I croak. Santiago says nothing.

At 4, Lord have mercy -- my brain, supine in the system, now equates the
call of my name with all meaning, all reason: so I am called, and
perversely I feel almost like I've bested Santiago, last in the cell. Moral
sense is being warped.

next year. I now have a new telephone number and it is 828 266 7587.
Also in recent discussions with my friends at different local rallies
and meetings, we have been trying to find our rights as citizens who
smoke in different states and places in the union.  We have also been
trying to figure out exactly what our rights are when encountered by
the police and other authority persons.  If have any information you
can send me or direct me to somewhere I can find the information, my
friends and I will greatly appreciate it.  Thank you very much for

Thank you to everyone that had a part in pulling off this rally and march.
OCS couldn't have done this without your participation.

Peace
John

Rainy misty morning for a rally and march at Dave Hall Plaza.  We set up in a
light rain and started the rally about 10 minutes late (not bad considering
we drove 200 miles in high winds and rain).  North Ohio NORML arrived shortly
after we did and set up their vending table.

Jimmy Rogers opened with some blues playing his guitar.  John Hartman
introduced himself to the crowd of about 100 people. The rain had stopped.
Joe Hart from Indiana opened with Here Comes the Sun and I'll be darn the sun
came out and we were all refreshed by the rays of the sun.  Kenny Schweichart
Democratic candidate for State House district 22 gave a powerful speech.  A
representative for Students for Sensible Drug Policies and the Libertarian
Party of Ohio were well received by the crowd. Zy a entertainer from NC
played his song he wrote about the death of Clayton (very cool song) check o
ut www.4clayton.com.

John Hartman did most of the speaking telling the story of the shooting of
Clayton Helriggle and how folks should give involved in the cause.  Bill
Kutzenberger played piano and sang for about 45 minutes.  A young lady named
Amanda read a poem.

The march started on time at 4pm and the Dayton police were very cool.  The
crowd grew to about 200 people for the march.  We had some very nice banners
(Ohio Cannabis Society, Turn on tune in unite,  Stop Arresting Patients).

It was about a two mile march to the Montgomery County Court House where a
very lively crowd chanted Justice for Clayton.  We dispersed after 20
minutes.

MEDICAL POT PATIENT PREVAILS IN COURT

Donovan No Runner, who staged a month-long "occupation" of the county
courthouse steps in San Luis Obispo to protest his arrest and police
confiscation of his medical marijuana supply has been vindicated.

Charges of marijuana possession were dismissed recently, and Judge Barry
LaBarbara issued a court order to San Luis Obispo police to return No
Runner's stash. The Native American suffers from a bipolar condition and
has a physician's prescription for the drug. He said he explained that to
officers who cited him and took his pot, but to no avail.

"It went as expected," said No Runner's San Luis Obispo attorney Lou Koory
of the court proceedings. "Judge LaBarbara's ruling was appropriate. Mr. No
Runner will get his medication back."

During No Runner's residency on the courthouse steps, he erected a tent and
was accompanied by his wife and infant. Koory said that time, "There's is
nothing more American than what Donovan No Runner is doing."

Subject: [mayday] DEA takes 3 Oregon medical cardholders' plants
Reply-To: mayday@yahoogroups.com
Status:

The Hemp & Cannabis Foundation (THCF) has reliable evidence that earlier
this month an Oregon-licensed medical marijuana garden in Linn County,
Oregon serving 3 patients, one a 52 year old quadriplegic man, has had all
of its 12 plants seized by a DEA agent, in association with Linn County's
"Valiant Team" (a local drug enforcement squad). We are investigating the
incident and will report more fully on this in 24 hours.

A patient voluntarily showed the drug agents the 12 plant garden, which,
for 3 patients could have had up to 21 plants and still been legal under
the Oregon Medical Marijuana Act that voters approved on in November 1998.
The three patients have valid licenses which cost them $150 each, so in
total they had paid state fees of $450 allowing and protecting them so they
may grow, posses and use medical marijuana under the state law. The DEA
agent, who made the seizure under federal law, told one of his victims,
"I've been in drug enforcement for 24 years and you're the first person  to
ever ask for a receipt." At another point, the cruel DEA agent told a
state-licensed, quadriplegic, former war hero, "You're lucky we don't seize
your home." Another time during the assault the DEA agent said, "You're
lucky we don't seize your lights."

THCF will file a lawsuit regarding this incident, naming the US federal
Drug Enforcement Administration agent, his agency, and others as defendants.

THCF is providing these patients with 7 replacement plants to rebuild their
garden and some free outdoor-produced medicine to act as a temporary
replacement, given the theft by the federal government of their
state-licensed medicine.

We will release more information on this soon.

by Neil Sammonds; October 11, 2002

The tenth anniversary of the crash of El Al flight LY1862 in the Netherlands passed virtually unnoticed by the worldís media. On 4 October 1992, a Boeing 747 airliner of the Israeli airline El Al crashed into apartment blocks at Bijlmermeer, near Schiphol Airport, south-east of Amsterdam, en route from New York to Tel Aviv (MEI 585, 598). At least 47 people were killed and over a thousand local residents fell ill to respiratory, neurological and mobility ailments and experienced a rise in cancer and birth defects.

Facing official Dutch and Israeli stone-walling, an independent Dutch nuclear research group discovered that the plane used depleted uranium as ballast. In 1998 the Dutch daily Handelsblad revealed even deadlier material in the cargo: flight LY1862 was carrying 10 tons of chemicals, including hydrofluoric acid, isopropanol and dimethyl methylphosphonate (DMMP) ó three of the four chemicals used in the production of sarin nerve gas. A belated Dutch parliamentary enquiry into the crash discovered unpublicized weekly flights from New York to Tel Aviv stopping off at Schiphol, where cargoes were not inspected and ó as the Dutch attorney general testified ó El Al security staff worked for Mossad. In the words of an investigator working on behalf of the Bijlmermeer survivors, Schiphol had become, and continues to be, ìa hub for secret weapons transfersî. ìInvisibleî facilities

The DMMP was supplied by Solkatronic Chemicals Inc. of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, and was destined for the Israeli Institute for Biological Research (IIBR) at Nes Ziona, near Tel Aviv. As MEI noted in 1998, the IIBR is ìthe Israeli military and intelligence communityís front organization for the development, testing and production of chemical and biological weapnsî. A ìsenior Israeli intelligence sourceî told the Sunday Times: ìThere is hardly a single known or unknown form of chemical or biological weapons which is not manufactured at Nes Ziona.î The IIBR is not shown on maps, and access to it was denied even to members of the Knesset"s foreign affairs and defence committees, who were concerned about health risks to the neighbourhood.

The 1993 report by the US Office of Technology Assessment for Congress states that Israel has "undeclared offensive chemical warfare capabilities" and is "generally reported as having an undeclared offensive biological warfare programme". The Sussex-Harvard Information Bank on Chemical and Biological Warfare Armament reports that Israel allegedly used poison gas in the 1960s and early 1980s, chemical warfare against Egyptian forces in 1948, and against Palestinians in 1969 and during the first Intifada. The Sunday Times reported in 1998 that Israelís F-16s had been equipped to carry chemical and biological weapons manufactured at Nes Ziona, and that crews were trained to fit an active chemical or biological weapon within minutes of receiving a command.

The newspaper also reported that it was at Nes Ziona where research into an "ethno-bomb" was carried out. One of the most disturbing revelations made during the South African Truth and Reconciliation Committee hearings was that the apartheid regime and its ally Israel were cooperating on such a project. Scientists reportedly pinpointed a particular characteristic in the genetic profile of certain Arab communities, particularly in Iraq, and were trying to engineer deadly micro-organisms that attack only those bearing the distinctive genes. The disease could be spread by spraying the organisms into the air or putting them in water supplies.

Israelís nuclear weapons programme is better documented than its biological and chemical weapons programme but remains as ìinvisibleî as the Nes Ziona plant. There is no doubt that Israelís nuclear capability was developed from the 1950s at Dimona in the Negev, with French and then American and South African assistance. In 1986 the Moroccan- born Israeli scientist Mordechai Vanunu blew the whistle on the activities at Dimona, claiming it had produced ìover 200î nuclear warheads. Five years later a US Strategic Air Command report said Israel had between 75 and 200 nuclear weapons. The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists (BAS) estimates Israel has ìover 185î nuclear weapons. The Federation of American Scientists (FAS) estimates ìover 100, but not significantly over 200î. The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute estimates 200. In 2000, Israeli MK Issam Mahoul broke the parliamentary taboo on discussing Israelís official policy of ìnuclear ambiguityî and stated that Israel had 2-300 nuclear warheads. Janeís Intelligence Review estimated in 1997 that Israel had over 400 thermonuclear and nuclear weapons. The Campaign to Free Vanunu estimates 500 nuclear warheads.

Blind spots

In both the 1967 and 1973 wars, Israel reportedly put nuclear warheads on a number of missiles. In August this year Anthony Cordesman of the Centre for Strategic International Studies told the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee that were Israel to feel threatened by attack from Iraq it might retaliate with nuclear strikes on Iraqi cities not yet occupied by US forces. Despite the overwhelming evidence of Israelís nuclear weapons and readiness to deploy them, London and Washington refuse to see them. A spokeswoman for the Foreign Office told MEI: ìBritain continues to encourage Israel to ratify the Non-Proliferation Treaty as a non-nuclear state.î There is a similar blind spot in the US, where a 2001 Pentagon report omitted Israel from a list of states with nuclear weapons capability.

Evidence about Israelís nuclear weaponry that the Foreign Office and Pentagon, among others, refuse to acknowledge, includes well sourced information about Israelís delivery systems. The latest edition of Nuclear Notebook says Israelís F-16 squadrons based at Nevatim and Ramon are the most likely warplanes to carry nuclear warheads and that a small group of pilots has been trained for nuclear strikes. Israelís F-4s, F-15s and Jaguars are also nuclear-capable. The newsletter adds that Israel possesses ground-to-air missiles ó the Jericho I, Jericho II and Shavit ó than can be equipped with nuclear warheads. The Jericho I has a range of 500km and can be fired from stationary positions or from mobile launchers. Jericho II missiles can travel 1,500km and are kept, according to the BAS, at the Zechariya base 45km south-east of Tel Aviv. The Shavit intercontinental ballistic missile, which launches Israelís Ofek spy satellites from the Palmahim air base south of Tel Aviv, could deliver a nuclear payload 8,000km away. Between July 1999 and October 2000, the Israeli navy reportedly took delivery of three Dolphin-class submarines ó Dolphin, Leviathan and Tekuma ó which are believed to have been modified to carry nuclear-tipped cruise missiles. A considerable body of research suggests that Israel also possesses a tactical nuclear capability, including small nuclear landmines and strategic nuclear warheads that it can fire from cannons.

Notwithstanding a white-washing, complicit visit to Dimona by a Norwegian team in 1961 that "verified" that exports of heavy water were not being put to illicit use, and a farcical visit there in 1969 by an American team that was guided around a fake control room, there has been no known scrutiny of Israelís non-conventional weapons programmes. Israel has not signed the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention, and while it did sign up to the Chemical Weapons Convention in 1993, it is yet to ratify it. UN Security Council Resolution 487, of June 1981, ìcalls upon Israel urgently to place its nuclear facilities under International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards,î and Resolution 687 of April 1991 notes "the threat that all weapons of mass destruction pose to peace and security in the area and "the need to work towards the establishment of a nuclear weapons-free zone in the Middle East".

Meanwhile, Washington marshals an international campaign to force inspection and dismantlement of Iraqís comparatively modest (at best) weapons of mass destruction programmes and the probable overthrow of the regime that pursues them. Mordechai Vanunu may be expecting his release in 2004, but no one is predicting when there might be international scrutiny of Dimona and Nes Ziona, or of the unpublicized, weekly El Al flights between New York and Tel Aviv. <http://meionline.com/>http://meionline.com/

Thank you Brett for all these excellent comments. Martin is at a low dose
situation, so his habits are $20 (CN) daily (down from $600 daily three
months ago), his last fix will be at 2.00 p.m. Monday. His body weight is 68
kg. Monday we get the EKG back, analysis of his blood tests. If all looks
well with heart and liver, we proceed as planned.

Your suggested .5 -  1 gram test dose is much higher than any previous
recommendation however, suggestions ranged from 150 mg - 250 mg prior to
your suggestion.

Well, from a medical point of view, the vomiting probably isn't very
efficacious; if you've been using drugs for an extended period of time,
the toxins are in your liver, kidneys, bloodstream, lungs, etc. Vomitting
wont help this. But the SYMBOLISM of vomitting i would imagine to be very
important on a psychological (and spiritual, if thats your thing) level.

I could be completely making this up, but I also seem to remember the
vomitting phase of iboga intoxication being integral to the traditional
initiation cememonies in West Africa. This spiritual cleansing through
vomitting theme can be seen in a number of other initiatory rituals; the
one that comes to mind most quickly is the Peyote rituals of Native
Americans.

So i think whether or not the ibogaine induced vomitting actually has a
physical cleaning effect is irrelavent to the point of the experience,
this is more than removing toxins, this is holistic cleansing.

What if someone vomit the Iboga and going into withdrawal and his/her
stomach wouldn't take more ?

You wouldn't like to see a person in drug withdrawals because of their vomit
fear ,
administer the Iboga rectally which will take the withdrawals a way but will
not upset the stomach .
the person should lay down on his left side ,the leg on top should be bent
and rested on the knee ,

take care that you don't have long nails and that you have a clean rubber
glove you can administer the Iboga ,

while you do that you have to make the person know that it takes only a
second and it might will give them a

shock but it is better then anything els you can do at the moment even if it
no fun ,

It is always better to cut down (whatever kind of
dope) as much as you can before treatment, some
treaters say it doesn't matter - I disagree.

He needs about 12 hours (from last fix) or just before
he starts to kick before doing ibo, I didn't catch the
timing. Methadone you wait about 24 hours.

The liver can usually be worked around (short version
is the dosing is worked up slower and watched closer),
any heart problems cannot.

Unless it is a different extract Indra (indra.dk)
suggests .5-1 gm test dose for their product, see
their website. Anyone I know who contacted them
directly was told to use 1gm for the tester.

>From their site

"0,5 ñ 1 gram: Mainly stimulant and aphrodisiac
properties. Little or no visual imagery. This is a
valuable experience in itself. For those who wish to
use the extract for treating drug dependency this
small dosage is also appropriate for testing for
possible allergic reactions and other undesirable
effects. "

If it is another extract such as a 16:1 from
http://ethnogarden.yage.net/ibogabark.htm the dosage
is different. In Ethnogardens' product it would be
used 1:1, just like ibogaine HCL and 100mg test dose
would be standard. But then if it is ethnogardens
extract (which I highly doubt) the main dose is WAY
TOO HIGH as is the test dose. I have no experience
with Enthnogarden's 16:1 extract and have not heard
any reports either.

My personal feeling is 1/2 gm (Indra) is enough which
would be about equal to 100mg HCL, a typical test dose
of HCL (it is roughly 5:1 indra:ibogaine HCL) and 1gm
on the high side IMO. 150mg-250mg of Indra IMO might
not be enough to find out if there is a problem (eg,
slow metabolizer/highly sensitive to ibo). There was
one person (who did NOT follow protocol and get the
required medical screening, he was not a youngster)
who reported to the ibogaine list chest pains
associated with taking 1gm of Indra as a test dose. I
also know of one methadone who REFUSED to take the
full dose of ibogaine (Indra) after taking the 1gm
tester, it can be particularly disgusting for opiate
addicts - hence my tending to (suggest) go a bit lower
at .5gm but not 150mg-250mg. The test dose also seems
to ease one into it rather than all at once, it
wouldn't matter much if at all with Indra cause it is
so slow and does not produce as much (if any) anxiety
as HCL but with HCL it is, relaxing even.

Then the question is why would he do 3.95 gm of your
16:1 extract in one sitting if it is equal to ibogaine
HCL or 16:1 extract? Initially when I enquired you
told me it was 1:1 replacement for ibogaine HCL. It
seems from your numbers (below) it is somewhere about
3/5th as strong - which by extract ratio makes some
sense - and on the other hand your site listed it as
having full alkaloid content of which 660mg (off hand,
I think) was ibogaine - so it would have been stronger
than that. The max human dose for ibogaine HCL in a
male is 25mg/kg for methadone addiction. So it is not
equal to HCL mg for mg - though no doubt a bit
different? I would have liked to investigate the stuff
personally so I understood what the product was
like... makes it much easier (logistically a pain in
the ass and I have no "need"...).  Still, that seems
like a VERY high dose (3.95gm) unless he is a very big
boy and it is 3/5ths as strong as HCL or even about 3
times stronger than Indra, at 16:1 - that comes to
roughly 63.36gm of root-bark...

Please advise or get back to the ibogaine list and
verify dosages, asap - I don't want to reply to the
list till I hear from you.

Thanks
Brett

Ethnogarden contacted me about the extract being used.
There seems to be some confusion (on my part?) about
the dosage/potency of their 16:1 extract, I have asked
them to contact me/the list about dosages/potency
(etc). It appears to me that at 16:1 almost 3.95 grams
of their extract is high, appearances can be
deceiving... (eg at 16:1 it comes to over 63 gm of
root bark or that is what it looks like) or in the
case of a 68kg person 3.95gm (total suggested) comes
to 58mg/kg which is still over the dosage range they
just gave me of 35-45mg/kg for their extract -
initially I was told it was 1:1 to ibogaine HCL - so
there is some confusion that needs to be cleared up.
All I can say not knowing their product and till I
hear from them is go with whatever they say on
dosages/test dosages but I don't want someone getting
hurt either so double check the dosages they gave you,
something seems off.

As always, be careful with ibogaine.

The iboga extract came from Ethnogarden Botanicals, who is on this list. His
suggestion was to stick to 150 mg test dose, and then when convinced all is
well, administer 35 - 45 mg per kg., since my friend is at a low dose point,
leaning toward 35 mg. per kg.

So if I understand J. Callan from Ethnograden, the recommended amount to
test is 150 - 200 mg., and the range at 68 kg. ( 2380 mg. to 3,060 mg.) for
complete dosage? This contrasts with some of the comments.

OK, ethnogarden got back to me.

The test dose of 150mg is fine but that 3.95gm of
their extract is TOO HIGH (seriously). It comes to
58mg/kg for a 68kg person and should be reduced to
35mg-45mg/kg per Ethnogarden. In other types of
ibogaine the habit you describe of $20 a day would put
it at a lower dose rather than the max dose, usually
for methadone addicts. Again, I am unfamiliar with
their particular flavor of extract - crunch some
number time... 2.5gm total puts it at almost 37mg/kg,
you can always take a little more later if you need
it, the last thing you want to do is "oops, took too
much ibogaine"... You should know how far UP THERE you
go by 1.5 hours after the dose, or less and would be
best if you took the main dose all within about 3
hours. I suggest not to keep taking the stuff over
ethnogarden's recomendation of 45mg/kg in one sitting
if you are having some withdrawal symptoms, too much
ibogaine can be a bad thing. Again I am unfamiliar
with their product but ya can't keep hitting the ibo
safely if you are somewhat sick, expect some
discomfort and don't try to get rid of all of it (in
the usual addict fashion...).
Hope that helps.

Marc,

I sent you a previous email on this.  The (new)
dosages you are doing are fine as is the test dose
amount. Ethnogarden had originally reported to me a
1:1 strength of their extract (not Indra extract) and
some confusion as well as the dose you gave me (3.95gm
- which is a range for Indra extract - so it looked
like you were talking Indra to me) - so much for
"contrast" - which if there is, something is not right
and GOOD, we found out something was not right and
fixed it and good that you followed up and asked, many
people don't... Their product is new, not just to me,
it is new. With ibogaine - even known products it is
often difficult to judge potency as each and every
time it is somewhat different - even less can feel
like more, more can seem like less. Maybe it is the
phases of the moon or something... It is good to check
and double check which you are doing -  good not to
have given that 58mg/kg, we want to cure him, not cook
him... If the test dose hits him very hard (you will
know) I would suggest cutting the full dose back, if
it were HCL I would drop it to 10-12mg, so figure
about double that. If on the other hand 2 hours after
the 35mg/kg (total) he is up and about, give him some
more ibo (not over 45mg/kg at one sitting), you want
him  to be wobbled. If he barfs up the ibogaine -
there you have to guestimate how much he lost and
replace it. If he threw it all up 1 hour later he
would have absorbed about 1/2 of the ibo, a bit more
if it were HCL, less if it were Indra (just to confuse
things) - for ballpark idea.

Good luck, all will be well very soon. I will be home
tomorrow if you need to contact me. Normally things go
just fine. FYI, if you like a tiny amount of ibo for
you (say 25mg) will help you get in sync with him.

I am not familiar with the 16:1 product at all but, let me comment on the
numbers.  Potency is 1/16 and that is equivalent to .0625%.  3.95 grams =
3950 mgs.  3950 mgs x .0625 = 190.62 mgs alkaloid content.  190.62 mg divided
by 68 kg patient weight = 2.8 mg/kg.  I think the 1:1 ratio you talk of may
indicate that the alkaloid mixture is equal parts of ibogaine and other iboga
alkaloids.  You might want to confirm this with Ethnogarden.  I believe that
a chemical analysis of the indra product (5:1) showed 8% ibogaine and 8%
other iboga alkaloids but, possibly Marko who I believe had the analysis
performed can comment.

Nick Sandberg in the ibogaine manual <www.ibogaine.org/manual.html> was
concerned that persons who confuse the strengths of ibogaine and the crude
extracts to the detriment of their subjects.  This certainly is a valid
concern and Ibogaine should not be administered until you have an
understanding of what exactly you are administering.

The first testing we had done was to isolate the total Ibogaine content of the extract which turned out results of 560-660mg Ibogaine per g of extract.

We are currently awaiting the results of the total analysis which will give the Total alkaloid content. These results should be back and confirmed within one month.

As Brett mentioned, our product is NEW.
We want everyone to be fully informed regarding our product.
We will post more results once we have them back.

Please subscribe to new MMM email list. Public archive still open.

The public MMM email list at Yahoo Groups now requires people to subscribe
in order to post messages to the list and the public archive. For a few
weeks I set it up so that non-members could also send in email messages to
the list. That was to help people send in MMM rally reports. It worked.
The archive also got some spam too. That was deleted. But people should
keep sending in MMM-related stuff. Just subscribe first.

The MMM message archive itself is still public and accessible to anybody:
