Hello!
My name is Elizabeth. My husband is in the Coast Guard. We have four
children, our oldest likely has Asperger's but she hasn't been
evaluated yet. Our second daughter is in the process of being
evaluated, and the neurologist feels she is "definitely somewhere on
the spectrum." But not an Aspie as she is cognitively delayed about a
year. There is a son between the two girls, and a younger child. They
are ages 9; 5; 3 1/2 and 21 months old.
The Neuro is familiar with military life, and said we should file to
homestead under the EFMP, but the CG's version - Special Needs
Program - doesn't officially have that option. The lady with Work
Life said that they can probably work it out though so that once we
get moved home to NC (We're doing a mutual transfer soon) that Paul
can stay within NC units.
I'm just looking for support from other military families,
particularly any who are homeschooling their children as we are.
Thanks!
Elizabeth
