Hello ~ I Need LLOOTTSS of Help With Tricare and other things   Message List

Hello all. I am new to this group, so wanted to introduce myself.
First off, I am so glad to have found this group and dealing with
Tricare to get the care I need for my dd is about to drive me crazy!

My name is Jessica, 26 yr old SAHM of two dd - Jennifer (or Caitey,
as she like to be called) is 7 dx w/ADHD 10/2002 & Sierra is 3 dx
w/Autism 02/2003. We are currently stationed at Ft Campbell, KY (GO
Screamin' Eagles!).

When Sierra was first diagnosed, she was 2 and we lived off post in
Clarksville, received services thru TEIS (TN Early Inter. Srvs.),
and then we moved on post in Mar 2003. We received services from
EDIS on post until Mar 2004, when she turned 3 at transitioned from
developmental daycare w/EDIS (along with OT and Speech services)
into the school system.

Of course, Mar didn't give us enough time to fully evaluate the
school that she was in, but to be honest, I am not overly impressed
with the staff at her school. We moved from one part of post to the
other in Feb 2004 (due to change in rank, and this post does housing
by rank) so my oldest dd moved to a different school, and Sierra has
the option to do so as well, or she can stay where she is. I think
that I am going to transition to the new school, especially if dh
reenlists to stay here (his window to look at options opens end of
next month) and she would start Kindergarten there. Lots to think
about.

ANYWAY ... so I am trying to find a good dr who knows a little bit
about autism to work with us on diets/enzyems/etc ... all options
that no one here seems to know anything about.

Sierra is in EFMP, but I will get to that in another post, as I have
a problem with that program to ask your advice on.

So, what is the easiest way to find a good dr (developmental peds or
whatever is needed) and get Tricare to cover it? Also, in July we
are going from being covered by Humana Military to a new contractor,
HealthNet. Our region is also changing. Tennessee will no longer
be in the same region as us, and at this time, Sierra is referred
for all her specialty care (by her off post ped) to Vandy. Is this
going to be a problem for us now?

I know, lots of questions, but I need lots of help. No one around
here seems to be able to help me!

Thanks again!

Sierra age 3 dx w/Austism
