Subject: [Military Families Autism Support] help with moving

Hello everyone...
We are thinking of returning to the McChord AFB area (Puyallup) but when we
were last there, Jakob was only 2 and was just dx'ed as PDD and only enrolled
in EI and receiving in home services one hour a week and PT, SLP and OT one
hour a week at CTU at the ARC through Good Sam in Puyallup. He is now 5 and
has his diagnoses of Potocki-Lupski Syndrome, sever Autism, CVI (cortical
visual impairment) hypotonic, ataxia, developmental speech apraxia, MR, and
sensory processing disorder.
We live in MA @ Hanscom and he attends a collaborative special pre-school
(last year and then will go to kindergarten) we would like to stay here but
it is so very expensive.
Jason (my husband) retires in 2011/2012 and will more then likely stay on as
a GS, looking for a GS13 step 8 (room for advancement) he is finance.
Jakob receives 2 hours SLP and OT one hour PT and 1/2 vision with 10 hours
ABA all provided via school. This does not include his regular school hours
of 25 hours a week. Do any of you know if any local schools, Puyallup, Lacey,
Kent, Gig Harbor, Fircrest, etc. provide services equivalent to what he is
receiving now?
Thank you so much for your time and help.

Cheers'
Kari

PS: Evelyn, if you happen to read this HI and how are you liking WA?
