I haven't posted on this group for awhile, but I have a question and am in need
of some advice. My son was dxed last year with PDD-NOS, but it's probably
either HFA or AS (he was under the age of 3 and no doc would give him a
definitive dx until after he was 3). Anyway, I was sent med. TDY to Offuitt to
a developmental ped (there are none in the area that take Tricare). The
developmental ped told me that my DS didn't need behavioral therapy, just
stricter discipline. I tried to get ECHO funding for ABA therapy and it was
turned down because of the report she submitted. My son has the ASD dx on his
EFMP form. His preschool therapists are recommending some behavioral therapy,
but they have limited time/resources for it. I don't even know how to approach
my regular ped wrt behavioral therapy and getting a second opinion. The doctor
at Offuitt was our second opinion.
