Folks, a number of other parents and I have been working for months to get
the ABA coverage fixed with TRICARE to some degree of success. I would
encourage everyone to write the congressman and senator in both your state
of record and state of residence to help us help you. Please contact me at
any time if you would like some more details on our efforts. Thanks and
good luck! Scott

ECHO???
Dear Libby, I do not know what other people a receiving as far as services
go all I can tell you it is better than nothing but it is not that much . We
receive 6 hours a week by a Board Certified ABA therapist . That = the total
amount that the echo programm covers $2500 a month . Their are only two
providers in this state so the options are very limited . And last night I
received an e'mail from that company saying that starting next month they
will only provide 4 hours a week but will still charge the full $2500 a
month ,isn't that nice . I guess you can get more money if their are no
other companies providing services .What a rip off !!! But what can you do ?
Out of pocket cost's for us : $200 a month for hippatherapy ,we paid $900
for swings for the house and Line therapy hours because my husband is
deployed for a year ,20 hours at $240 a week so I can at least leave my
house to go to the store or do something with my older daughter. Sorry for
being so frustrated ,Kristin

I went to the STOMP presentation of ECHO, and frankly, it was
inaccurate. I've been in contact with Marilyn Ault, the POC for ECHO??
According to her, the ONLY service available is ABA. I realize that
ABA has worked well for a lot of autistic kids, its not for us. Has
anyone been successful at getting any sensory items? (swing, etc) What
about other services such as Hippatheraphy?
The STOMP presentation sounded as though we'd get a ton of services
now, but I have not seen that to be the case at all. If anyone knows
of a more effective way to 'work the system' please let me know.
TriCare is paying for speech, OT, and PT. ECHO is paying for NADA.
