We're also in Charleston, SC...we are currently filling out the paperwork
for ECHO program for our son, but we do have 25 hrs. a week of PCA hours,
and over 600 respite hours that we haven't used any of yet for the year. We
are going to try as hard as we can to get him the 30-40 hours a week of ABA
he needs, and were told that if we needed more PCA hours that we would just
need to fill out more paperwork showing just cause for increased hours. His
new PCA provider just started this past Mon. and is great. If you have
someone that is willing to work with your child to receive these hours, you
can contact the Home Health companies to find out the requirements needed to

be an employee and have that individual hired through that company for your
family.

With the 6 hrs. that are covered using the $2500 covered through the ECHO
program, which you are probably using CASLS, are they able to do hands-on
and write it up in a way that it is covered or are they only able to the
consultations/trainings using the funds? I would love to be able to have
those funds be used for both, but I believe the individual I spoke with told

me that they only cover hands-on, but it's almost impossible to find a BCBA
that will do such...I am definitely going to have his PCA provider get
trained b/c that would be less funds that I would have to pull out to pay
her, since she's already being paid through the Home Health Company...her
learning the skills needed to work with him would be a plus for her and our
family, and being that she's here 5 hrs. a day already that will only be
5-15 hrs. a week of time that i would have to fill from the original 30-40
that was being prescribed for his care.
