RE: [Military Families Autism Support] Nervous about move...

Kind of in the same boat . My husband will also deploy for one year and my
family is from Germany . I can not go back home , we have all of our doctors
here at MUSC and ABA that has been bringing us a huge success. Our little
one loves school and we just have to much stuff to leave behind plus my
older daughter is starting middle school this year. Two dogs a cat a guinea
pig and fish.Sorry to hear about your medical issues . Even with me being
healthy it will still be hard . But we have 6 hours of ABA a week with the
BCABA and I hired a line therapist which I pay out of pocket$10 an hour just
like a sitter . That makes 12 hours a week and once he leaves we will hire a
addictional therapist to come in . Do you receive respite funds through your
dissabilities board ? That would make your life easier and the more people
you have around you would be good for you too .Our board will cover 2-3
hours of respite a day once my better half leaves. -----Original

Subject: [Military Families Autism Support] Nervous about move...

Hi all,

We have decided to stay in the Army instead of getting out and moving
home to Tucson. Anyways, my husband was notified that he is on the
bubble to deploy for 1 year in Iraq from the hospital here at Ft.
Bragg.. Our son, Brandon, is moderate to severe autistic and has
sensory problems. We just got him approved for full time pre-K and
summer school. Now with the deployment I am scared to pull him out of
a program that is working for him but, at the same time I need to be
close to family with my husband gone. I am diabetic and if something
should happen my family is not on the east coast and our son is non
verbal. However, researching what services there are in Tucson I am
not too thrilled about moving him out of the school district here on
base. If I was healthy enough I would do it in a heartbeat and stay
but, my sugars have been out of control lately.. any insight would be
helpful..

melissa
