Sandra, if the material is translated, why
would it not be appropriate? Just make sure to use the appropriate Spanish for
the region.

Protective Factors tool in Spanish?
Hola:
The Issue:
One of our fundors has asked us to have our participants complete a
protective factors survey tool that they developed for caregivers. The
five areas they are measuring are:
family functioning/
social support
concrete support
nurturing and attachment
knowledge of parenting/child development
The Problem:
This survey is only available in English and has not been translated.
In fact, if translated, it is most likely not culturally appropriate.
Lastly, our participants are Spanish-speakers and perhaps SOME read in
their native language also.
Proposed solution: Anyone out there have a protective factors tools,
indicator, assessment, survey or whatever, that measures these types of
items? They may be willing to let us administer a more appropriate
tool. Your help, as always, is greatly appreciated!
