Saturday I was looking at the magnet for the vns. I noticed it had cracks on
the back of it and one going all around. This is the one that I keep with me.
At first I thought that I had caused the damage. The more I thought about it I
could not think of a time of were I may have dropped it or it hit something hard
enough to cause the damage. When I looked at the second magnet, it too had the
same damage (same area's) just not as much or bad. My husband started looking
at it. ( -Now this is so hard to explain, you would just half to see him. He's
a mechanical engineer and when he gets into things like this - he gets this
serious look on his face. Too funny - lol.) He really feels that it is due to
the force/pressure of the magnet. When it is being used it causes the cover of
the magnet to crack. He pointed out 2 of the cracks that were expanding
outward. He explained that it showed that the force of pressure is causing it
to move this way. If it would had just
been a crack from it hitting something it would had cracked in different angles
and so on & so on (a lot of times when he gets this way, I just act like I am
listening and just shake my head every once in a while, cause I start to get
lost).
Sunday we went to my parents. He took the magnet and began talking with my
dad who is a civil engineer (put those 2 together and it can be dangerous even
worse boring, lol). They must of talked on this subject for about 2 hours. My
father feels the same.
So I was just wondering if anyone else has ever noticed this before with there
vns (if you have the vns)? I had the vns surgery back in April of 2004. I take
very good care of both magnets.

I will be seeing my doctor in January and will let him know. Really I feel
that I am just being curious more then anything about this.

Take care
Ashley

Oh..on the back of the magnet they have 7 circles. This is were the crack on
mine start. That is another reason why my husband & father say it is may cause
the force/pressure. Wish I could remember all of how they explain this.
