I've had epilepsy since I was two years old and have been on Dilantin all that
time but
I just started having the migraine headaches a few years ago. Unfortunately,
the
migraines were doozies -they would start on one side and switch to the other
and
sometimes these would last for about 2 weeks before any relief.
My doctor was prescribing Hydrocone and Compazine - just for a temporary ease.
Nothing really seemed to work because the headaches seemed last forever.
Now my doctor is putting me on Topamax for both my migraines and getting me
off
the Dilantin because he says the Dilantin may be causing other problems -
problems
they never knew Dilantin could cause until recently but I've always had
seizures when I've gone off Dilantin. I'm down to 25 mg. of Dilantin every
other day, so please keep your fingers crossed. Pray that the treatment takes
this time.
