I know this is a topic that is a little old to talk or hear about. Just it is
something I needed to talk about cause it was the first time for me to have a
chance to see what my doctor, neurosurgeon, nurses, etc. had/half to deal with.
It does have to do with hurricane Katrina.
My doctor, neurosurgeon, etc. are/were located in New Orleans. People are now
able to go into the New Orleans area. There are only a few streets you are
unable to go on.
We went to the area were my doctor & neurosurgeon had there main office
(memorial medical center), the epilepsy monitoring, and were the surgery was
performed. It was unbelievable. Like my sister said - it was like a looking at
a movie picture.
The Memorial Medical Center was so damaged. I saw the windows from the road
were my room was for testing in the epilepsy monitoring unit. All the windows
were gone. I can only imagine what it looked like inside.
On the road vehicle (2 medical) were just on the side completely damaged from it
all (some were turned over). The area of how high the water was could be seen
on the memorial center building.
It was really a very sad moment for me.
I have located my doctor. The doctor that I see for now in baton rouge, is the
doctor that recommended me to my doctor in New Orleans. So I decided to just
start seeing him again for now. When I went and saw him at the beginning of
last month comes to find out that my doctor from New Orleans and his family are
staying with him. I was very happy to know that.
Thanks for reading.
Take care.
