Hello
I'm Ashley. Sorry to know how terrible you feel. I know it is hard, just try
your hardest to think positive and as my father tells me "just keep the faith".
I know that can be hard. Try your best.
You said how the left part of your of your mind is feeling blank. Do you mean
that you are having trouble with movement, remembering and understanding things?
I had surgery back in 2002 performed on my left temple lobe. I was doing great
'till I had a very bad grand mal seizure in 2003. With that my memory was
horrible. I also started to have a great amount of trouble with my right leg.
I also would call it blankness. I would be doing something, trying to remember
something or just talk and my mind would go blank. It was and still is awful.
I do not have it as bad as I did in 2003 and the beginning of 2004, but it still
happens at times. It can makes me feel helpless. I just try may hardest to
think positive and do my hardest on getting well.
With my right leg I still have a great amount of trouble. My right leg is very
weak and painful. My neuro. has me seeing another neuro. that he works with.
They feel that I have dystonia and I also have drop foot. So I go to therapy
and I get a botax shot in my right leg every 3 months. The botox helps with the
pain and the stiffness in my leg and toe. My right toe sticks strata up by it
self because of the pain. The shot does help, at times.
I have never herd of sodium valproate. Right now my doctor has me Keppra,
Lamictal, Klonopin & Traxene. I saw my doctor on Monday and he feels that the
Lamictal may be part of why I am still having trouble with remembering. So he
had me do a blood level that day. I am going to call today and see what the
level was and if the doctor wants to lower the lamictal.
Try your hardest to think positive. I know it can be so hard. Just try.
If you like you can also email me at charmedbrown_eyes@...
Take care

Since 2001 I was on medication for epilepsy n !
day decided to stop taking my medication coz firstly,
I was on sodium valproate to control it but to no
affect, after trying to change other medications there
was side effects such as rashes, swollen gums etc.
Therefore, doct. had no choice but 2 switch me back 2
sodium valproate. I decided to stop the medication as
my body weight increases after consuming it & my
epilepsy did no cease. So far, it`s been 5 mths since
my last attack a few days ago. Today, I feel so
restless, my body`s weak & left part of my mind`s like
feeling blank. If anyone out there have experienced &
experience like mine pls advice me on how I can cope
with my life now. I feel so down.-Farhanah-
