Hi all on the group. I am Darlene, age 66. Have had epilepsy since
childhood, and when I grew up, it was in the era when no one would
hire people with epilepsy. So I was a stay at home mom, who did a lot
of free baby sitting for neighbors. Have been married 47 yr. to a
great guy, have 2 sons. My drugs for epilepsy put me in a coma for one
yr., and later, another drug, put me in a wheelchair. Needless to say,
I am doing much better, and off of those drugs. But we do what we have
to. I also have diet controlled diabetes, 3 colon diseases, periphael
neuropathy, Seasonal Affective Disorder in winter, 2 eye diseases. I
have a lot of headaches, and always have a migraine for 2 days when
there is is full moon. My neurolgist said it is not common, but he has
heard of it. I do my best to not think of my ailments, and do what I
can, volunteering in certain areas and helping others. I hope to glean
from this group, and also to be able to help encourage others. My
saying is "if life gives you lemons, then make lemonaide"!
