Dear Mary,
My daughter had suffered a traumatic brain injury at the age of 7. For the
last 5 years she has had a mixture of severe head pain and seizures. It took
me a long time to realize that the head pain and seizures were directly
connected. As all the doctors kept trying to treat them separately. In fact, I
dont
even believe that she has true "migraines". Although she has some of the
symptoms. I think that anyone in severe pain will vomit,be sensitive to
light...etc.....At least this is true for my daughter. Anyway, years ago- the
head pain
was more frequent than the seizures. In the past year the seizures are more
frequent. So it can change course. Yes, I have read that epileptics suffer
depression more frequently that the average population. We did have a doc that
wanted to give meds for depression. Of course shes depressed!!!! she doesnt have
a
normal life, like other kids. She misses out on alot. But she DID NOT need
meds for depression!!! Thank you, Mary . for the support. I will check the
topomax site for dosages.
Susan
