I was having dinner with my sponsor to go over some stepwork last
night and I had a seizure at the table. It was relatively short but
very powerful and I was in a postictal state for a couple of hours.
I was so dizzy, confused, and had such a brutal headache (like a
severe migraine without the pain behind the eyes). We didn't stay
for too long after that because I was too disoriented. My sponsor
walked me to my train stop and downstairs to the train, bless his
heart, huh? I luckily got a seat because I could barely balance as I
stood. About 15 minutes into the ride I had another seizure, a more
tonic one.
Before dinner I had been explaning to my sponsor what my side effects
are from Keppra and how difficult it's been to adjust to them, and
I've been very angry all week that I'm on it. I've been getting
small seizures like forever, and I haven't had a big one for about 4
months, so the big ones last night really upset me. First, they
scared me becase being on 2 meds I didn't expect it to happen, second
I got a very long aura and was too stupid to pay attention to it,
third I don't see why I have to go through both se and symptoms at
the same time. However, I'm very happy to have meds to take, and
they have helped a lot. I used to get 6-10 big seizures a day.
Violent partial seizures, so I was able to enjoy them as they
happened. Happily, though, the absence seizures have almost
completely gone away. At least I know who I am and where I am most
of the time.
Thansk for listening. P.S. A bunch of migraines lateley, too. Life
is a parade of pain, confusion, and meds for the last couple of weeks.
