Audio Epilepsy Chats   Message List

Dear Group:

Would anyone here be interested in "audio" chats concerning epilepsy?
I may be getting a web conferencing room for my business. If I do,
I might allow it to be used from time-to-time as a audio chat area
for epilepsy-related discussions. This would be a Windows-based web
conference room. I would be the moderator. I am willing to try
this out for about an hour or two once-a-week. The web conference
room would accomodate no more than 10 people. You would need a
headphone to communicate verbally. In addition to speaking
verbally, I have the ability to show slides to all that are in the
conference room. Not surprisingly, web conferencing works better if
you have high-speed Internet access; but, it will work reasonably
well with 56K dial-ups.

There will be no charge for anyone desiring to participate. But, I
am not getting this service for free. I have to pay a fee.
Therefore, I think it is not unfair of me to make a short plug for
my business. This is no different really than what Yahoo does with
its ads at the bottom of Yahoogroup messages.

I will have to provide individuals wanting to participate with a web
address and a pass code to enter. Also, as the moderator, I reserve
the right to "terminate"(remove)an unruly participant from a
conference and/or "ban" that person from further participation in
future web conferences. However, I seriously doubt that will ever
become necessary.

I am thinking about doing this because I find regular Internet chat
rooms often frustrating if more than two people are in a room. More
often than not, I feel it takes too long to conduct a simple
conversation. There you are typing every question, waiting for a
response, and then responding to the answer you are given. All the
while others are attempting to do the exact same thing in the same
room. Is it any surprise that this can become very frustrating very
quickly? The last thing anyone should want to do is engage in
actions that can encourage a headache.

Is anyone interested in participating in something like this? If
so, I would like some feedback as to a good day and time. It may be
a few weeks before I am able to get this up-and-running.
