Last Thursday night I was running from the street into the subway
station and flew off the stairs and landed on my head. I lost
consciousness twice and was otherwise dipsy and lost so much blood
for a minute I thought I was having a near death experience. I
landed on the left temporal parietal region of my head. I already
have TLE most notably from my right side, and I don't know what
functions the parietal region rules, but as soon as I could have a
clear thought I went to this: "More seizures! More migraines!" I
don't know if that will happen, especially considering how much
medication I'm on, but considering how vulnerable to those I already
I'm I can't help but expect the worst. I think I had a brief seizure
when the ambulance personnel put me on the stretcher. I started
seeing and hearing things that weren't there while I also heard a
roaring sound in my ears. I felt really bad the first couple of days
after the accident, and now a week later I feel stupid, confused, and
have a hard time seeing and walking. They had to keep me in the
hospital because my dilantin level was 34 (normal is 10-20) and I
felt really creepy as my dilantin level went down (from no dosing),
almost like I was withdrawing. Now I have to taper the dilantin and
add Keppra.
Well, that's my mishegas! Hope everybody's doing ok!
