Hi Judy,
Thanks for tor the reply. I had a left teft temporal lobectomy at UCLA
in1986. I was having about 50 partial complex seizures a month taking Tegretol
which
was best, several others had been tried. I did fine, seizure free for a year
so med started being reduced and I had a grand mal one night soon afterword
and the partial complexs were back but only around 10 a month. Then in in 93 my
white bood count kept dropping. (I live in the South and and went to CA for
the the 1st surgery but regular appointments were here.)A Dr in AL wanted to
remove the remaining left temporal lobe, the hippocacampus and amygdala. Then
take me off the tegretol if I went a year seizure free. My WBC was 2.1 and I was
on 1200 mg of Tegretol. The surgery was a disaster. I had a stroke during
surgery and have more seizures and the migraines. But I did have VNS in Jan this
year and there is an improvement in number of seizures but I still have the
headaches. You are blessed to have a child ! And I pray your headaches and
seizures will stay few and far between.
