Dear Group:
I recently joined this group and wanted to pass along some information
- a web site and a book - which may prove helpful. The web site is
www.andrewsreiter.com. This is an epilepsy-specific clinic which has
helped people from all over the world bring their seizure disorders
under control - in many cases with little or no medication. They
also do ongoing research into epilepsy. Their director of therapy
research responds to all e-mail sent to the web site. So, this a
great resource for people seeking help.
The clinic also has a book out called "Epilepsy: A New Approach." If
you live in the US, you should be able to find the book in your local
public library. If not, the book is available from Amazon.com.
As for myself, I spent nearly 34 years diagnosed with epilepsy before
I learned that migraine headaches - which my mother suffered with all
her life - were a form of epilepsy. I never suffered with migraines.
Up until two years ago, I took medication to control gran mal
seizures. Today, at 52 years of age, I am drug-free - which goes to
prove that educating yourself about your condition can pay big
dividends. It can actually transform your life for the better.
