In 2010 the State of Florida will be reviewing the Midwifery Laws
ect...
We as birth professionals need to band together and support one
another. We need to unite and form a strong alliance to show the
legislators that we are serious competent women and that birth is a
normal process not a medical event.
So please consider joining the Midwives Association of Florida.
Only Licensed Midwives have a vote in the associations bylaws but we
can Support and Protect Midwifery and Normal Birth in many ways...
www.maf.cc to download the registration form and you can actually pay
with paypal.
A note from the acting President....
Hello dear sisters,
Though our numbers are few, we are strong, resilient and effective. I
wanted to
make you aware that we still owe our lobbyist $700 (10% of her total
contract)
from the 2006 legislative session. This is the main reason we did not
have a
contract for 2007. Of course 2008 is right around the corner and we
will
definitely need the eyes and ears of a capable lobbyist for the next
session
particularly with sunset review approaching. We need to raise the
funds to
cover this essential expense and meet our prior obligation. Your
support of the
Midwives Association is support of the survival of your profession.
Please
send in your dues renewal and any extra contribution to the lobbyist
fee that
you are able to make. Contact your clients about supporting
memberships and
contributions. Every little bit helps. Thank you to those of you who
have made
your membership renewals in a timely manner.
Please feel free to forward this to any midwives or supporters who
are not on
these lists.
Thanks,
Rebekah Finklea, LM
Custom Logo Design Service
As a recommendation from a friend I chose the silver Package from
Paramount Web Consulting.
They did an awesome job on my logo and what I liked about them is that
they give you unlimited revisions.
I have had too many problems in the past with other companies that
ended up costing me alot of time and money. So if any of you guys are
looking to get your logo design, try them out, they give you logo
design + Business Card Design for only $159. Here is the link:

Hey there group, just wanted to introduce myself, im not even a
student yet, im currently planning my wedding and starting a community
house, but I have *plans* to start schooling in the fall with the
hopes of doing full life care as a traditional midwife... which is to
say, i want to be schooled as a traditional midwife, but i also want
to be able to give full care to my client, from teenage girls to
menopausal women.. im not sure yet what route im going to take to
accomplish this, but thats my goal. any tips or suggestions would be
great, as i am brand new to trying to actually figure out how to get
this started. thanks!
