Not that it explains everything, but the article is quite interesting
read.

I'm amazed that nobody seems to have got the idea to keep the patient
cool except for the lungs area, which should be wrapped up to rais the
core temp to inhibit the virus in viral pneumonia!! Why not do that?

If the temp is up at the lung tissue, the virus is stymied, while the
patient can survive better if head, and other areas are at near-normal
temps. Why is this never done?
