Re: [Microcephaly Support Group] I am a new member

Hi Michelle,

It is so nice to hear from you. My daughter Ana was born with Microcephaly. Do
you know the cause for this? My Ana will turn 8 on January 10. What do the
early intervention teachers do to teach this children and how and what do they
teach them? I feel there is more I can offer my child, and as far as I know,
the Philippine government does not support this things yet. May I know from
where are you?

I will still have to let my daughter undergo another assessment in terms of her
mental age and so forth because the first test done was invalid due to the long
intervals of the sessions. Hopefully, this will be scheduled soon when her
psychologist arrives from the States.

I am thinking of my daughter's survival if we will not be here anymore. That is
why I am so much interested in knowing how the teach this children the survival
skills they need to know. Please help me Michelle. Let me know if you know
something about this. I will really appreciate it very much.

Sorry if it took me just now to reply.

Sincerly, Christine

Hi, Christine. My mother is a Filipina. :) My sweet Blake is baby C of
triplets; they just turned 3 August 30th. Blake is globally
delayed--considerably moreso than his brother and sister. I have not found any
technology that helps in terms of teaching our children with microcephaly...only
lots of love and early therapy.
Hope to hear more from you and let us hear your story...was she born with
microcephaly, or did it happen later, etc.?
Best,
md

Hello and good evening to everyone. I am from the Philippines and I
have a daughter with microcephaly. She is now 7 years old and it is
her 4th year in kindergarten. Her psychologist evaluated her plus a
neuro told us never to expect anything when it comes to her studies. I
really need help on how to go about this problem. Is there a
technology on how to teach children with this condition?

I just hope somebody out there will answer me. I do not know how many
parents here in the Philippines have cases such as ours.

Sincerely,
Christine
