The Michigan Breastfeeding Network (MBFN) was formed in 1998 as part of the Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Education Committee. The MBFN is an umbrella-organization for agencies, institutions, and organizations in Michigan that support breastfeeding. Our goals are to:
· Initiate and participate in advocacy efforts on behalf of breastfeeding
mothers, babies and their families;
· Promote to the public the importance of human milk and breastfeeding for
infant health;
· Reinforce the importance of health care providers in promoting, protecting
and supporting breastfeeding;
· Provide opportunities for networking, collaboration and resource sharing.
