Hi Group,
I am new here. My name is David, I am a hypnotherapist and started
using EFT a little more than a year ago now. I have found energy
therapies to be incredibly effective (both on clients and on myself).
However, I still have lots to learn, as evidenced by the case
described below, for which I'd love to get feedback. Here it is:
I have had a session with a highly rational woman for a fear of public
speaking. She recalls 2 events of public humilliation in school (age
12) but has no emotional charge when thinking about them. Similarly,
when asked to imagine her worst public speaking nightmare, she knows
that she would feel panic, but cannot actually feel anything right as
she is sitting in the office chair ("I am fine because I know I don't
actually have to go on stage now"). I ended up doing lots of rounds on
all of her limiting beliefs (e.g. "I am no good at communicating"
etc.) and she didn't seem to budge either.
Because of my initial training, I am thinking of using regression
next, but considering I have decided to use EFT exclusively in the
future, I'd like to know alternative ways of dealing with this.
