that you could find on AOL on June 22, 2007, I will repost it for all to

As a recovered Anorexic and Bulimic and now a Life Coach who works with
people who struggle with all types of eating disorders (e/d) this article
seriously concerns me. Diets can and do very often lead to e/d. Eating
disorders
(e/d) can and do kill. It is bad enough that on just about every magazine cover
the topic is weight, i.e., "Who is loosing weight and how much?" or on the
flip side "Someone famous is in a treatment center for e/d (eating disorders).
This is absolute madness! There are children as young as 3 years old saying
that they are "fat." How many more people (famous and/or non-famous) have to
die from complications of e/d (eating disorders) before people will really
wake up? Well, people, this is your wake-up call! Females are not the only sex
that are struggling with e/d males also are struggling too. Treatment centers
costs between $30,000 and up and they do not accept health insurance
coverage, offer scholarships, etc. For people who are struggling with e/d and
their
family, loved ones, friends, etc., who want to really learn much more than
about e/d (eating disorders) I strongly suggest buy a book titled, "The Eating
Disorder Solution" written by Dr. Barbara Cole, Ph.D., MFT.

She is the Clinical Director of The Victorian House in Newport Beach, CA.
Dr. Cole, Ph.D., MFT uses a unique method of treatment which has become highly
successful. The name of her unique method of treatment is called, "The
No-Resistance Method of Treatment for Eating Disorders."

I promise you that this is NOT just another book on or about e/d (eating
disorders). I can explain how things are run at The Victorian House and also at
The Lido House. The Lido House is a house you can go live at once you
complete the InPt. section over at The Victorian House. This is also explained
in
her book. Dr. Barbara Cole's, Ph.D., MFT, book titled, "The Eating Disorder
Solution" is a step to healing and The Victorian House will get you on you own
individual path of healing. At The Lido House there is always a staff member
from The Victorian House just in case you need her. I have never met a bunch
of selfless and giving people who believe that you can become "cured" or
"recovered" (depends on which word you want to use) from your e/d. The staff
members who work at The Victorian House have struggled with their own e/d and
thus
root problem(s).
I remember all too well what it was like struggling with my e/d and hearing
all the negative and untrue facts the e/d was telling me every second on
everyday. I have an Online Support Group here at AOL Groups which is open to
the
public. However, I will not respond to Posts in that forum because I believe
in privacy, trust, and open and honest commutation. The way that I respond to
someone's Post(s) is very e-mail. If you decide to join you can add
pictures, poems, songs, journal entries (if you want), artwork, etc. This is a
"safe"
Online Support Group and I plan to keep it that way. I also have a Toll-free
support/help line that people can call. I also have in person monthly
meetings that are sponsored by ANAD in the Orange County area, i.e., Irvine,
CA,
Newport Beach, CA, etc. It is open to the public. I just need to know what
day(s) and time(s) are good. These meeting usually last about an hour, but it
can
go on if there is something that the group and/or someone really needs
support. I also do visits to treatment centers and hospitals in the S., CA area
(Orange County and Los Angeles areas) if you feel alone and scared, etc. This
disease includes everyone because they: Anorexia, Bulimia, Compulsive
Overeating, EN-DOS, Exercise addiction, Trance eating, Diabulimia, etc., not
only try
to destroy the person directly struggling, but also those people who are
indirectly involved because they are struggling too. It effects the entire
family. Eating disorders can do permeant damage to your body, i.e., you can
loose
your teeth, have heart and kidney failure, loose your hair, your bones become
brittle and can break, and a myriad of other no fun and serious medical
conditions. Another problems/diseases often times go hand-and-hand with e/d,
i.e., alcohol and drug addiction, self-injury (SI), bipolar disorder, etc. This
is called having a Duel Diagnosis.
There is always a root cause/reason as to why someone is struggling with an
e/d. As I say to people, "No one wakes up one morning and says to themselves,
"Gee, I think it would be really cool if I struggled with an e/d. Which one
should I choose?" No, it's not funny and it wasn't meant to be either!
Trust me, you are NOT alone unless you want to be and this includes your
parents, husbands, wives, your own children, siblings, girlfriends, boyfriends,
etc. Anorexia aka: Ana and/or Bulimia (Mia) are NOT your friends despite what
you might be thinking at this moment and e/d (eating disorders) are NOT a
lifestyle. At least, not a healthy lifestyle. You cannot overcome it alone
and/or with just OutPt. therapy, i.e., Chapter 8 of Dr. Barbara Cole's, Ph.D.,
MFT, book titled, "The Eating Disorders Solution."

live at Sober
Living By The Sea (SLBTS) in Newport Beach, CA., because The Victorian House is
primary for women, but they have (and still do) treat males. You have to be
considered "medically stable" and age 18 and above to attend either treatment

Sober Living By The Sea (STBTS) treats people who have drug and/or alcohol
addictions.
